Is It True That Da Vinci Never Slept Said It Was A Waste Of Time

Did Einstein sleep for three hours a year?

I don't know from where this information is passing around, but whenever I hear it, it makes me rage with fire. He did not sleep only 4 or 3 hours per night. That guy was Tesla. Read his biography- that man was really weird. He slept three hours a night, worked continuously from 3 am in the morning ( or the night) to the 11 pm at night, had his dinner around 7 every evening, and walked like 17 miles every day.Einstein, mate, he slept around 10 or so hours. There was this website that I had come across, a few months ago when I got obsessed with the documentary on Einstein, name Genius( yeah, the Geographic National one… ) and at that time I was constantly googling things about Einstein. So I read on a website, how to achieve the level of imaging things like Einstein did. He slept 10–12 hours a night and that made him go into sub conscious state and unlock the power of his sub conscious brain that made him imagine theories like he was witnessing them himself ( it sounds so cool, doesn't it) .And for the conclusion, let us just not waste our times thinking about how many hours those great men slept. Maybe they slept as and when required, maybe not.And yeah, I just re read your question again. If you are asking this because you saw Iron Man 3 and Tony Stark says that Einstein slept three hours a year…Dude, it is a movie! If you have more things to know, try checking out the *Hourly History* books on Google Books, I love reading them, and all the things that I know about Tesla come straight out of it.

What is your response to the da vinci code movie?

if you saw the da vinci code movie, what was it like?

it sounds scheit looking at the reviews on rotten tomato:

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/da_vinci...

which is rather entertaining as the producers must be absolutely schitting themselves! what fun!

i just think it's hilarious cos they must have spent so much money and expected so much in return and now look it's the biggest flop of the year, even worse than mi3 and poseidon (well it's looking like it anyway).

i have read the first chapter of the book (and thought it was a waste of time and won't bother anymore with it) and definitely won't waste money on the movie. maybe when it comes out on tv... but then, i don't have tv (by conscious choice) anyway!

What contributions to the Renaissance did Da Vinci deliver?

--Inventions: He invented TONS of things--including a hang glider, moveable barricades to protect Venice from attacks, musical instruments, hydraulic pumps, reversible crank mechanisms, finned mortar shells and a steam cannon...and more.
--Science: He was incredibly forward-thinking in his scientific studies and observations. He embraced an observational approach to science. He did an incredible amount for anatomy. He drew detailed sketches of muscles, tendons and other visible anatomical features. He dissected corpses. He made the first drawing of a fetus in utero. He made more than 200 drawings. His most famous drawing is probably the Vetruvian Man--"This image exemplifies the blend of art and science during the Renaissance and provides the perfect example of Leonardo's keen interest in proportion. In addition, this picture represents a cornerstone of Leonardo's attempts to relate man to nature."
--Art: Obviously he created a large amount of art pieces which are still valued today, including the Mona Lisa.

My mom is against video games and wants me to read books?

First off, try being a little more understanding, and look at your mom's or a neutral perspective. Some problems I see with the situation.

1. You and your mom aren't communicating very well. Try to strike up some conversation or compromise. If you initiate the conversation and sound mature without whining (and that's actually sounding mature not condescending) then you have a better chance of getting something in your favor.
2. Even if it is summer break, staying up until two every night is not a great choice, because not only is school around the corner, but if you sleep too little, your brain will be less able to function (even if you don't feel tired) leading to more off days, and in the case of your games, more mistakes.
3. Video games do have certain health benefits it's true, but you neglect its downfalls--increased aggressive behavior, desensitizing to violence, and obesity, just to name a few from a long list.
4. Books have more benefits than just "practicing imagination and prediction." They increase your vocabulary, including your basic knowledge of words, making it easier to understand more complex texts necessary in school and work, as well as decreasing the time required to learn a new language. Books broaden your view of the world and cultural understanding, a very important thing in our increasingly globalized world. The only down side of books I can come up with is if you read too many in poor lighting you'll strain your eyes.
5. Reading does not have to be slow paced. When compared to a video game, then yes novels are a bit slow, but there are other kinds of books. Ever considered reading manga or graphic novels? I don't mean that as an insult to your intelligence, insinuating that you need pictures or something, I only make the suggestion because these kids of stories can be very fast paced.
6. First person shooters like CoD and Halo are absolutely not healthier for your mind than reading, especially when you compare the two over multiple hours each night. End of story.

In conclusion? Obviously if you don't like reading I can understand why you would resist it, but consider some of what I said. Especially the graphic novel part. Or the sleep part.
