Is It True That You Get Older By Sleeping Late

Does sleeping late make you look older and age you?

It is your irregular sleeping schedule that is taking a toll on your face, not the amount of sleep itself. You see, the body begins R.E.M or rapid eye movement during sleep at around 11-2 P.M. So think of it like this: when you hit the hang at 1 A.M, you only have 1 hour of R.E.M. But when you drop out at 11, you have 3. Also, if you have an irregular sleep schedule, it takes you much longer to actually fall asleep when you are in your bed.

Can you get grey hair by sleeping late?

Absolutely false! Grey hair is mainly genetic (can be from your mom or dad's side!), but can also be caused by stress or trauma. Sleeping is definitely good for you thus sleeping in is great and definitely does not cause you to get grey hairs. Grey hairs are just hairs whose life cycles have run out and the follicles aren't producing the same melanin ie color and the hair changes. So you can see how sleep couldn't cause this! Old wives tales are hilarious!

As we age, is it harder to sleep in late?

Personally I do not find it difficult to sleep in later in the morning, but I also go to bed late in the evening. It really would depend on your sleep cycle. If you are an early riser, you may find it difficult to sleep late. Sometimes sleep cycles change as you get older because circumstances change. If one no longer needs to go to work, his/hers sleep habits may change. People do what is required of them at times when it is needed, i.e. rise early when going to work even though you may prefer to stay up late at night and would enjoy getting up later in the morning. At an older age, I do find that I have problems falling asleep because my mind is busy thinking about stuff and it’s difficult to quieten your subconscious although this may happen at any age.

Why do I sleep in so late?

I think it is because you go to sleep kind of late. 11 12, or 1?? I think that you are missing out on some of your rest. Your body is basically finished growing but that does not mean that you don't need as much sleep. So i would try to go to bed at about 11 -o- clock. And try to go to sleep the same hour every night. Because when you feel your body saying, "I am tired" Get some rest. And if you go to college or if you have to work, you should really get some rest every night the same night.

Sleeping pills for a 14 year old?

ok so when you fall asleep your body cools down a few degrees so what you can do is help your boddy get into that mode by having a fan blowing on you and leave your feet uncovered. Now if that doesnt help theres a vitamin or whatever it is thats called melatonin which is naturally made in the brain to help keep you asleep all night and to immobilize your body so that you dont sleep walk or carry out a dream thats whats wrong with sleep walkers there brain doesnt keep as much meletonin on hand but your body does make it by itself but only releases it when your asleep and right about to go to sleep but you have to lay down after you take it or else you body can resist it its best to take smaller amounts its more effective in smaller doses i have the same prob ha and im 14 lol but it doesnt always work like if you had caffeine earlier that day hope i helped

Do you stop growing when you sleep late?

I'm 14 right now and I've been sleeping at 12 or over every day, but I still get atleast 10 hours of sleep. I'm about 5'5 and I only grew an inch or two in 2 years. Is there a problem here?

My 3 year old son stays up late, sleeps at 2am everyday but still gets 8 hrs of sleep. is that bad?

When he starts school, he'll need to go to bed at around 8:00, so you need to get him used to that time. Every day, set his bedtime back about 10 or 15 minutes. Make a schedule. When you get to 8 o'clock, keep having him go to bed at that time.
Now, he'll probably wake up around the same time (11 am), so start waking him up about 5 or 10 minutes earlier every morning (except Saturday and Sunday). Do the same thing you did with the bedtime.
Trust me, these things work, I'm 11 and it worked for me when I was his age ; )

Why does your body want to sleep more as you get older?

I am no expert on the human body nor do I hold a medical degree. However, it may have something to do with the increased amount of upkeep the body must perform due to the deterioration of old age. Sleep is one of the body's main source of energy renewal, specifically REM sleep. The more maintenance required for the body, the more energy it will consume and the more sleep it will require to match its energy demands. It also may have something to do with the limited amount of exercise elderly people are able to perform. Exercise regulates energy and exhaustion levels in your body, meaning that the more a body exercises, the more alert it will feel during the period during which it normally is awake, and more tired during its bedtime. Exercise intensifies the quality of sleep, meaning that you can achieve a wonderfully rejuvinating night's sleep in less time. Additionally, and I am not certain of this, but I will venture a guess that it may perhaps have something to do with both the deterioration of the part of brain that controls alertness (the part that caffeine triggers). However, I am not as confident about this point.
