Is It Weird To Wear Slacks On A Casual Basis

To be fair, my attire is more ‘business casual’ than directly casual, but other than during summer I’m perfectly comfortable with wearing more formal clothes rather than my casual clothes since my usual attire is no more uncomfortable than my casual clothes are. I’ve spent time and effort on building up an array of comfortable clothing that works just as well for a 200 meter sprint to catch the metro within a little over a minute as it does for attending a party, and I know how to do things like tying a tie without straining my neck. Often what I find is that people who dislike formal clothing and find it uncomfortable are people who haven’t really got a good opportunity to get formal clothing that actually is comfortable. I remember that when I was youger I had a black suit from my confirmation that itched and had loose threads on the inside. Later on I took a keen interest in halfway formal clothing after seeing successful men wearing colourful business casual clothing and from there I slowly dived into clothing more like I do now, wearing a floral pattern shirt and chinos to school daily.

If it's a jazz club (or club of any sort), always safe with a tie (as already mentioned in the question details). Not knowing your wardrobe, hard to suggest. At a pinch, try these suggestions:(via Maxim Magazine)(Above) If you have a navy-blue suit already, wear the jacket. Replace blue denims above with black jeans. Replace the suedes with black dress shoes. Light blue shirt (which looks white). Monochromatic is always a winner with navy blue. Endless possibilities.(via London – David Gandy)(via Lookbook Spring Summer Wear 2014 Street Style London)(Above) Essentially the London look. Double-breasted midgrey dress jacket. Replace with black jeans. Black dress shoes.(via Red Carpet Fashion Awards)As much as you may probably wince at the above, they're not exactly outrageous for a New Year's bash. It's actually very stylish and sets you out from the nondescript crowd in a nice way. Shortened version of ZZ Top beard not included. Would work well with your cool name, that's for sure. Thanks to Dakota Lorance for the A2A.

Is it weird that I never wear pants?

is that what you wear? wow it's really pretty!!! who care's what others say, i know a friend who ALWAYS wears dresses and skirts because she loves dressing up girly. it suits her and everyone loves her style. in collage i tend to wear the same and hardly wear trousers because i think dresses show your girly side and make u generally look more pretty. i find them easy, practical and i love showing of my legs! so wear what u want and don't care, honestly i just think others are jealous that you can pull of wearing dresses so well!!

Is it weird to wear shorts everyday?

I have a sort of indie/quirky style, and I love to wear shorts. Not like, super short, tight shorts, But just like, mid-thigh or maybe a bit above, but they are NEVER tight. It's very hot where I live, so that's part of the reason I wear them, plus, I think my legs are one of my better features and I like how I look in shorts. I sometimes wear skirts too. But I only really wear pants in the winter, 'cause skinny jeans are my favorite type of jeans, but they are uncomfortable. Especially when it's hot outside. Plus, I don't think I look as good in jeans. Is that weird?

Is it weird to wear leggings as pants?

I recently got some really cute black leggings (with cute zippers) at Pink! Originally, I bought them to go with an over-sized sweatshirt, which was what it was paired with at the store. Recently, at school, I saw some girls wearing them at school with just a normal top.

So my question is, would it be weird to wear black leggings with something such as an over-sized red shirt? The shirt ends right about wear my thighs start. I really like it and think it looks cute and fun and relaxed, but I just want some opinions!

This is a great question. Here are a couple of principles I'd use to answer it: Err on the Side of EleganceI'm not suggesting that you ditch the Polo in favor of a ballgown, but if you're going to make an error - have it be because you were a little over dressed, not under dressed.  These days, you have long time professionals from a variety of fields that are looking for any type of work.  They will show up for a restaurant job in a suit, like they are interviewing for a law firm.  They clearly want the job and are willing to over dress for it.  2. Dress for the Job you WantThere's a great story that perfectly illustrates this point.  TJ Miller (from HBO's "Silicon Valley") decided to record his audition for his role in the Yogi Bear Movie  (2009) dressed as a park ranger, and with a real bear: If that doesn't say "Dress for the job you want" I don't know what does.  So my question to you would be: Are the slacks and polo similar to what they employees wear at that establishment? If so, that may be a great way to show that you are serious about the job.3. Be Willing to Stretch Your Comfort Zone (or Wallet)I'll never forget my first, really important, job interview.  Sure, they were all important, but this was the first one where I dressed up for it.  I had just maxed out my very first credit card buying dressy clothes - two pairs of slacks, two dress shirts, two ties, and one pair of dress shoes.  On my interview, I decided to go with black slacks, a grey shirt, and my trusty Kenneth Cole dress shoes.  I was dressed in a way that made me think, on my outfit alone, I would certainly get the job.  After all, it was the first time I'd ever dressed up for anything - outside of a formal for school.  The interview went well, but then there was a warning.  "When you come back tomorrow - make sure you have a tie on. It's our dress code."Yikes!  All that effort, all that investment, and I still was under dressed! Fortunately, I had my two ties, and that got me through the next interview, and eventually landed me the job.  Morale of this story:  If a Polo, slacks, and your hair in a bun is what you want to wear because it is what you like to wear - you may want to rethink it.  Getting a little uncomfortable is a necessary evil if you want to gain more than you've currently got.  So, even if that means you go on a little shopping trip, or ask strangers for advice on Quora - it may be what gets you the job you've wanted.

Would you think it be wierd to wear casual dresses to school with flats?

I don't think it would be weird to wear a casual dress and flats to school, it sounds very cute in my opinion. Some people may tend to ask why your "dressed up" though if you do decide to wear this combination. Although it's actually a very casual look, many automatically think since your wearing a dress theres some kind of special occasion. It may also depend on your school though. Barely anyone wears dresses at my school yet that may be different at yours. Even if no one wears dresses, I still say go for it! It sounds very nice.

Is it weird to wear leggings with tight, regular length, shirts?

i like it so long via fact the leggings are completely and thoroughly good in colour in the event that they're the slightest bit sheer that is uber slutty. i think of is extremely plenty a throw lower back to the 1880s yet I do only like the assumption.

Long skirts.I know, I know, what’s so weird about a boring modest piece of clothing?Well… it’s the style and the context :I have fun with long sporty / hippie/ witchy-style skirts in Bucharest, Romania, where women wear other kinds of skirts.I wear my weird long skirts :at the office, where other women wear pencil skirts or mini skirts, in casual smart or girly outfits and nobody ever wears a full bohemian/ hippie/ sporty outfit with a skirtand in town, out and about, where I’ve gotten a lot of comments from males looking for attention, something along “you’re not dressed for hot weather, my dear”, “that material’s too thick” - too bad they couldn’t see through my skirt I guess , “going to church?” I’m not religious and I find the comment hilariousI get a lot of looks from men and women alike and I suspect they may be a bit frustrated that they’d love to criticize my unusual outfit but are not sure they can express themselves, because who knows ?maybe I’m a modest, religious girl (I’m not but I respect girls who are)there’s nothing really outrageous by societal standards about a woman in a long skirt, just that I don’t highlight my natural beauty and I don’t show off my legs and I don’t appreciate the attention or jealousy in the eye of the beholder…Also my long skirts are weird because they don’t resemble what other women wear in town and 99% of the time I don’t get them from high street shops or malls. I shop second hand with gusto :D
