Is Toys R Us really going bankrupt?

Yeah. They are losing to Amazon or eBay.

They are really expensive. One time it was my Godson's birthday. He is turning 2yrs old. I went in there and saw a plush toy cow that talks and sings songs. It was 30usd. I went on Amazon and found it for 22usd.

More cheaper in Amazon, and adults really has no business going to a toy store unless they are being forced by their kids. Yanking on their arms saying I want this and that.

Amazon, allot better

In case the broker holding the shares of investor goes bankrupt?

If a brokerage firm goes bankrupt, SIPC insurance covers investors' assets up to $500,000. Of that $500k, $250k of it can be cash (i.e. your linked savings account). Many brokerage firms also carry private insurance policies that protect investors to $25million, and above. If your account is worth more than half a million dollars, check with your broker to see what additional coverage they may have.

SIPC was created specifically to return funds and securities to investors if the broker-dealer holding these assets becomes insolvent. It's a membership organization that is funded by the broker-dealers that are members. Don't ever invest with a broker who is not a member of the SIPC.

If Tesla goes bankrupt will parts become hard to get?

Probably easier, some aftermarket company would probably not step in and provide replacement parts. Right now Tesla is too poor to have enough parts on hand to build new cars, replacement parts aren’t worth the effort if not highly profitable. An aftermarket company like Bosch can come in and sell replacements cheaper because they make parts for a wide range of cars not just Tesla. If they stay in business (despite closing a majority of dealerships and laying off a large chunk of their employees) they’ll have less incentive to sell replacement parts when they can sell a whole replacement car instead. Why can’t you change the battery on your iPad? It’s so much more profitable to sell you a new iPad than encourage you to keep your old one, Apple is disincentivized to sell iPads with easy to replace batteries. The same concept applies here as Tesla is the “Apple of cars” or desperately tries to be.
