Is Jogging A Good Way To Lose Weight

Is jogging good for loose weight?

Yes it is.

I used to run on the treadmill for 45 mins x 5 a week to get my weight down and it worked well.

However, if you don't want to put much strain on your bones and joints you can walk quite fast say up to 7.0 on the treadmill for half an hour and do a high incline of between 13.0 and 18.0 I usually go for 18.0 to burn 500 cals in about 25 mins. Its a good way of losing weight.

I would also suggest cross trainer for half an hour but brisk walking and running is cool it will have the desired affect.

Good luck and remember its not just excercising its what you shove down your throat that matters too.

Have garbage but restrict it to a once a week treat

Good luck !

I want to lose weight?? jogging?

There are some people who believe jogging would be the best exercise to lose weight. Indeed jogging is a great exercise that will help burn plenty of calories, increase fitness and boost energy levels. A thirty minute jog three times each week has helped many people control weight however, there’s a difference between controlling weight and losing it. I personally wouldn’t recommend jogging to lose weight, especially for a beginner or the overweight individual.

The problem with jogging is the potential for injury. The joints of the knees and ankles take a great pounding from the constant impact of the foot hitting the ground. For an overweight person this constant stress could be even more severe. Any potential injury could mean rest and recovery for weeks but that means no exercising for some time and resting is not the way to lose weight permanently. If the dieter starts again after recovery the injury cycle could start again.

Which is the better way to lose weight, yoga or jogging?

Yoga or jogging both are equally good methods to stay healthy . But I would choose jogging as a better alternative to lose weight since I've been jogging regularly for a while. Before I start to answere why I chose jogging over yoga let's have a look at two photosThis is how I looked 1.5 years back . I weighed 92 kgs. I am the guy on the extreme left in the pictureThis is how I look now . Over the past 1.5 years I've lost 20 kgs. I've never went to the gym . I never took any kind of professional training. I've run multiple 10k events, two half marathons and preparing for my first full marathon .I started jogging with the basic motive of losing weight. I had never dreamt I would prepare for a full marathon some day. I started walking/ jogging 2.5kms and gradually increased that.Jogging helps burn calories faster than yoga. For example when I do a 5km in approx 30 mintues, I end up burning roughly 350 calories30 mintues of a yoga session will help a person like weighing 72 kgs now to burn roughly 140–150 calories at the most. But I make sure I include one day yoga training in my weekly training plan.If your basic motive is to lose weight , take up jogging instead .But ,Relying only on jogging won't help you to lose weight. I had cut down on outside junk food , no soft drinks, no sweets for a while and other high calorie food items. Jogging or exercise will help you approximately 30% in achieving your target of losing weight. Rest 70% is all about the food you eat at home or outside.Having a proper diet plan is necessary to achieve any kind of a heath discipline. There should be a proper coordination and balance between your training and your food intake.Choose the one between the two that suits your work schedule and suits your body as wellGood luck :).

Is jogging every morning to lose weight a good idea?

I'm 20 years old, around 5 foot 9 inches and weigh around 270lbs and i want to start losing weight. Would a combination of a healthy diet and jogging every morning help in my road to success? I've run cross country before back in high school, so running as exercise isn't entirely new to me.

any tips?

Is running/jogging the best way to lose weight?

The best way to lose weight is to cut down on what you eat and exercise. Try not to 'do' the same things all the time as your body will adjust for that. Our bodies are so efficient that they will 'allow' for that exercise - but if you do calesthetics one day, walk a mile fast the next and skip 6 blocks the next and then jog for a day or two it won't be able to 'keep' up with you!

If you are serious about losing weight remember that most people only need 2500 calories a day. A hardworking guy on 3500.

You can go to any fast food place and get the 2500 in one sitting. So whatever you eat - just eat half as much as you'd like

Your stomach should only be as large as your loosely fisted hand! Surprised? With all of the super sized portions and huge plates of food you get in restaurants no wonder stomachs get stretched out!

Good luck!
