Is Keeping A Secret Equivalent As Telling A Lie

Whats the difference between telling a lie and keeping a secret?

A lie involves knowing a fact, and then saying something that is contrary to that fact. To tell a lie, you must know that what you are saying is false--if what you are saying is untrue but you believe it to be true, that's misinformation or ignorance, not lying.

Keeping a secret involves knowing a fact, and not revealing the fact. You may say that you know it, or say that you can neither confirm nor deny knowing it, but you may not reveal what the fact actually is. Unlike lying, you don't say anything that's false--you just hide a truth.

What is it like growing up rich? Teens 15-18?

I'm not saying I'm filthy rich or extremely wealthy, but I am pretty well off.
My parents raised me to be respectful and not spoiled and to appreciate what we have. Our life is the same a everyone else. My sister and I go to school, play sports, hang out with friends. My parents work a lot.
My mother spends a lot of money on stupid things while my father is very cautious with the money. My parents don't spoil my sister and I with expensive gifts. We work hard to earn things. I have to maintain a straight A average in order for my parents to let me keep my phone and get clothes, etc.
I live in the suburbs, and we have a really good public school here.
Our house is a nice size. It is not a mansion, but it is two stories, has a pool, five bedrooms, basement, etc.
My mother has a Lexus and my father has an Infinity.
I am not allowed to buy really expensive clothing at all. I usually shop at Forever 21, H&M, Urban Outfitters, Pacsun, and other places. My mother on the other hand... that's a different story.
I have lots of friends in different groups, but I hate the word popular and I think it's a stupid way to describe someone.
I never ever brag or talk about my family's money situation.
My parents worked for our money from the ground up. They immigrated here from Russia and started out with nothing.
I don't know what the most expensive thing I own is. Personally, I think it's my phone. I have the iPhone 5 and every month it costs like $30 dollars so that's a lot of money over time.
I live in the USA.
I am definitely planning on going to college. I am not allowed NOT to go to college.
