Is Making Fun Of A Fat Person For Being Fat Just As Bad As Making Fun Of A Black Person For Being

Am I a bad person because I don't really like fat people?

Why is it that a thin, half-way attractive person deserves your respect, just because you can't see their flaws and shortcomings in the form of fat on their body? John Smith at work could be a wife beater, but you have all the respect in the world for him, because he can hide it inside a normal body.

I've worked with overweight diabetics for years, and I was a chubby kid until I was 12. But the teasing I went through until then affected me until my early adulthood.

If you really feel the way you do, as you described above, then it is almost certain that you have self esteem issues that are as severe as an obese woman who eats an entire pizza for dinner. The hyper-critical issue you take is abnormal, even in a society that accepts being cruel to fat people.

My gf makes fun of me being fat?

Im 13 and everytime i dint wanna do stuff like take off my jacket she says something like "is it because ur flabby" or is it cuz of ur **** or r u trying to hide your man ****. What should i do to make her stopor ahould i just dump her. I even hint to her i hate it by like when she says that i just leave and she gets sad. Im 13, 4'9", 132lbs. And i have alot of fat and ive been trying to lose weight for 5 mths but it doesnt leave my body :(

Which is worse: being too skinny or being too fat?

I've been at both extremes, so from experience, I can confidently say that being too fat/obese is worse by a long shot. So many stereotypes associated with being fat; people attribute all sorts of characteristics to you merely by virtue of your size, s/a that you're lazy, stupid, incompetent, etc. When you're thin, at least people treat you relatively normally, and don't make all of the above assumptions about you - though they may not agree with what you're choosing to do to yourself.

Do you feel bad for fat people?

Depends on what you consider fat...If a person is hugely fat, yes I feel bad...either there is a endocrine problem or perhaps a psychological problem or heck, they may be genetically large...our society is mean towards anyone they consider different...no one has the right to make fun of anyone in this world.
In some form or the other we will all become different...even if it is getting old..western societies treat older people rudely also...why? You are the same person inside...time just passed..it happens to us all.
If you don't like what you see turn and go the other way...this world does not belong only to the supposedly 'perfect' people...(and they never stay that way very long do they?)

Why do people make fun of Chinese people?

The main reason is because people see Asians as easy targets. They don’t care whether you’re Korean, Japanese, Mongolian, they would still consider you as Chinese. In the west, there’s a stereotype that Asian men are nerds, weak, short, and skinny. So that’s what bullies do, they make fun of Chinese because there is no consequence in doing so. They would assume that you would stay low and not fight them back. On the other hand, blacks are stereotyped as aggressive and strong. People would usually think twice before making fun of a black person. The solution to this problem is pretty simple, just start lifting weights and eat more protein. As long as you look like those guys, no one would make fun of you. That’s not the only factor. Asians are seen as model minority in the US, people think we are privileged (There’s no such thing as Asian privilege). People assume that racism only applies to blacks, Arabs, Mexicans, but not Asians. If a guy makes fun of a black person, he would be considered as racist, ignorant, but if he does the same thing toward an Asian guy, then the guy is humorous. You tell him that he’s racist, and he would call you oversensitive and tell you to learn how to take a joke.We can blame our history teachers for this. History talks mainly about Jewish prosecution, Holocaust, black slavery, but they never talk about racism toward Asians. They never talk about the Japanese internment camps, Yellow Peril propaganda (Search that on google), Chinese exclusion act, Chinese forced to build railroads and many of them died. Even if they do, they talk very little about it. As a result, no one knows that there’s such thing as racism toward Asians.Another factor is that there are too many Asians “Uncle Tom”Uncle TomThey usually tell others that they’re Asians but they’re not offended. If you’re this type of Asian, you’re just making things worse for us. You might be fine with those racist jokes, but this would kill your children’s self-esteem one day, and what they do is they would be ashamed of being Asian.Lastly, we are outnumbered and don’t have the power to do anything. How many Asians are there in the US? like 4–5%? and it is still divided into South Asians, South East Asians who have nothing to do with East Asian jokes. Even if we shout racism, no one would listen to us.Edit: I didn’t expect to get so many views. Thank you everyone. I am going to disable the comment, because some people wrote some racist statements and denying racism.

How should I respond when people make fun of my skin color? My own family members used to call me ugly, black and fat.

When people make comments like this, it is clearly a sign of their own shortcomings and downfalls rather than yours. They are insecure about their own looks, and feel like the only way to make themselves feel better about their complexion is to put others down and make hurtful remarks behind your back and to your face. In order to cope with this, you need to have full confidence in who you are as a person, in which your skin colour and complexion play a vital part. Every person is unique and beautiful in their own way, and your skin colour makes you the strong person you are today and nobody can change that or take that away from you. As long as you are content with how you look, you can cary this into the attitude you hold which is one of self-assurance, positivity, and firmness. This can be really hard at first, especially when you are constantly being disparaged by those who are meant to be closest to you, and it may feel like you will crumble and cry. However, you need to remind yourself that these people are making these comments because they are lacking confidence in themselves and are anxious and fearful about their own complexions. When you realise this, then you can ignore the comments they make and they will realise that their words are not having any impact on you and they will eventually stop. Seek support from others who appreciate you just the way you are and their affirmations will carry you through the tough times. Be proud of who you are and embrace every amazing quality of yours!

Does being fat count as a minority?

Yes, send them fats to concentration camps.
