Is Mcdonalds Is A Good Place To Work Part Time In New Zealand

Can I get a part time job at McDonalds with a 2.2 GPA?

I'm sixteen years old and I'm thinking about getting a part-time job.I really slacked off my first 2 years of high school and my gpa got really low. Right now things aren't going very well around my house and the only person working is my mom. I really want to try to help out and get some money. I'm working really hard to get my grades up but I really want to try working ASAP. I don't want to wait another semester to raise my GPA.

How much does McDonalds actually care about GPA? Is a 2.2 acceptable? Is there another place I can try to work for that doesn't care as much (Chick-Fil-A, Sonic, etc).

What else can I do to raise my chances for getting a part time job?

Can a 15 year old work at McDonalds? If so, what sort of jobs would they be expected to perform?

You will likely either take orders at the window, or be in charge of cleanup to start with. Most stores, don’t have set ‘positions’ as it were. You’ll be hired on as a “crew member”. Which basically means, you do whatever position needs done. The key thing for you is… take it seriously, and get to know you co-workers.I know it sounds odd, but the biggest mistake people make is they don’t take the job seriously. Too often people go in, do as little as possible, and then move on.Here’s the problem. All those other people there, are doing the same thing. You don’t know who your next boss will be. I’ve known people that got rejected from really nice jobs, because they worked at some crappy store, and treated their job like crap, and one of the people they worked with moved on to be a manager at a nice company. Then they go and apply for a job, and the guy interview you says “oh I know you. You worked at that McDonald’s 10 years ago, didn’t you?” and that was the end of the interview. But that manager remembered this guy was a loser at that store, and barely worked, showed up late, and left early.Don’t be that guy. That guy you work with, could be the best key for you to get a good job later. He may also be the brick that smashes a good job later. Be a good employee… work, and make friends with your co-workers.I actually had a lady I worked with years ago offer me a job as a manager, because she knew me from over 10 years before, when I worked at Wendy’s with her. I didn’t take the job, but that’s an example of how early teen jobs, can have a long term effect.Take it seriously. One thing, learn to talk AND work. The problem isn’t talking generally. The problem is, people stop working when they talk. Keep your hands moving. You’ll be fine. And one side note.If figured out that if I had saved all the money that I earned while I was in high school, and invested it… I would have over $300,000 dollars today. Actually that was some years ago I would have had $300K. It would be more than that today.Save your money wisely. Your buddies in school will try and convince you to blow your money on all kinds of crap, and the money will be spent and gone.Don’t follow your buddies. Save and invest for the future.

Is it easy to work at McDonald's ?

My first job, in high school, was at Dairy Queen. I had a ball. It was hard work when we'd get slammed with people or if a tour bus stopped, but it was fun! We didn't have those new cash registers like they have now. We had to do the math in our heads...... It is easy working at McDonald's once you have been trained. And, McDonald's will train you so don't worry. The more you work there, the easier it becomes.

As far as questions go, answer each question HONESTLY because if you are caught in a lie after you have been hired, that is grounds for immediate termination. If you have done any volunteer work, that can help you get a job - it shows responsibility, leadership, those types of qualities.

Be yourself in the interview. If you don't understand a question that is asked, have the person restate the question or rephrase the question. Never be afraid to say "I don't know!" They do not expect you to know everything.

After your interview, if you haven't heard back in a week - do your follow up. Go IN PERSON and speak to the person who interviewed you. Let that person know you are still interested in the job.

You probably know the rest. When you go to interview, wear nice clothes. Don't wear perfume. Don't wear a lot of jewelry (if you have piercings, wear only one pair of earrings). Make sure your clothes are pressed. Hair pulled back. Don't look like you just rolled out of bed!

Best of luck in your job search!

How long would it take to earn 3,000 dollars working part time at McDonald's?

And don't forget to take out taxes and social security

Assuming you are taking home $8 per hour you would need to work 375 hours to make $3000.
Working 20 hours per week you would need to work about 19 weeks or about 5 months

How long should I work at Mcdonalds before I quit?

I'm 16 and I started working part-time at Mcdonalds at the end of October and I hate it. The pay is bad and I hardly got any trianing so everyone is always angry with me all the time because I don't actually know what I'm doing. The only reason I got a job there was because I couldn't get a job anywhere else so I thought if I just put up with it for a while I could quit and use that as experience on my resume and get a job i actually want. So my question is how long should i work there so it looks like significant experience on my resume? If i quit at the beginning of January next year it would look like I'd worked there for 4 months or should I wait until march so it looks like 6 months or should i wait even longer..ugh. Also how exactly should I go about quitting keeping in mind that the manager and i aren't exactly best friends ( she talks to me in the voice my parents used when i poured milk into the VCR when i was six)

Do you need a resume for mcdonalds??

I have a job interview tomorrow, Do I need a resume for it?? I have one but can't print it out =(

I handed in my job app, she said just to meet her ( manager ) tomorrow at 2pm

PLEASE HELP!

I need real answers too please >_>

Why do my Mcdonalds co workers and managers treat me like crap?

Welcome to the restaurant business, my friend...........

In my eyes, you are a victim of bad management, and the fact that this McDonald's location does not take the time to properly train their employees is evidence of this. I bet your co-workers had to go through the exact same thing, and are taking out their frustrations out on you...........

Do you have a college degree? If not, go to college and earn one. Find ANY restaurant other than McDonald's to work at, if needed. ANY restaurant. You will never get very far if you're stuck with a restaurant establishment with poor management. You sound like somebody who has a good work ethic. IT WILL BE NOTICED if you demonstrate it with most other jobs in this world. Don't let this lousy, poorly run McDonald's establishment get you down. Restaurants are always looking for good, hard-working people (one of the many reasons why the turnover rate is so high in the business).
