Is Methylphenidate Hydrochloride Ritalin Or Concerta

What is it like to snort methylphenidate?

Never done it.Don’t do it. It’s highly addictive when abused. It can cause heart failure, seizures, increase the likelihood of lung cancer, and the euphoria doesn’t even last that long. The anonymous answerer here has said that he snorts 60mg pills to get homework done. I weight 240 pounds. I stopped taking medicine for about 10 years, and have been back on for about 1 year now. I am 31 years old and 20mg of Ritalin taken orally can make me feel significantly different. Taking 60mg would be a huge overdose for me. I would likely survive, but I would have a very rough 4 or 5 hours.Snorting 60mg will condense that 4 or 5 hours into 30 minutes. There will be an intense euphoria followed by some mix of paranoia, depression, anger. There’s a statistically significant chance that you will go into seizures, your brain will start bleeding, or that your heart will stop.Just don’t.

What are the reactions between Methylphenidate and Amitriptyline?

Fluoxetine and amitriptyline interaction: this combination may result in an increase in the blood levels of the amitriptyline.

Amitriptyline and methylphenidate interaction: this combination may increase the amitriptyline blood levels, put patient at risk for developing hypertension, have possible cardiac effects.

Fluoxetine and methylphenidate interaction: this combination may increase the Fluoxetine levels and thus increase adverse side effects associated with that medication.

On the whole, I would not describe these as "minor interactions". She may wish to further discuss this with her doctor.

What does it feel like to take methylphenidate (Ritalin)?

For someone with ADD, it's the opposite of "speed." It slows and quiets things down. I've described before what it's like to have ADD, from my own experience:Imagine you're in a room with no doors or windows. There's a television in this room with you. The television is on, and the volume is turned all the way up. On top of this, the television randomly changes channels every few seconds or so.There are no controls on the television. There is no remote. The television is not plugged into an outlet. It has no power cord. There is no way to turn the television off, unplug it, or even turn the volume down. There is no to get out of the room and get away from the noise and chaos. Now, shrink that room down enough that it fits into your head. Imagine going through every day in a world where no one else has a random television blaring away in their heads, no one else understands that do have one, but everyone expects you to behave as if you don't. In my experience, ADD meds don't turn the television off, but they do turn the volume and slow down the channel switching enough to allow me to manage the noise. They don't "cure" ADD or take away the symptoms. Instead, they turn down the severity of those symptoms to a manageable level, thus enabling me to use the tools and strategies I've learned and developed to handle them. When I first got my diagnosis, I resisted taking stimulant medicines, opting for combination of non-stimulant medicine, dietary supplements and changes. Unfortunately, that strategy didn't work for me. After I got fired from my job, I switched to stimulant medication. From the moment I started taking the difference was like night and day. It was as if I'd spent 33 years stumbling around in a darkened room, tripping over furniture and running in to walls, and then suddenly someone turned on a light.

How do you feel when you've taken too much Ritalin or Concerta?

I am very stupid, cannot articulate my emotions and sentences. Very immersed in myself while ignoring others. I have problems with falling asleep. Crash will be rude and not merciful. My limit of normal well-being is 54 mg, everything, what is higher than this, kills me.Regarding Ritalin… I used it two year ago, but it was not something very pleasant. I was thinking that 30–50 mg per once is okay, although this regime of intake had forced me to be depressed and suicidal. Then recovery took 1 year to recreate my imbalance of dopamine. Do not overdo your prescribed dosage, it is not something very good in the long-term.By the way, I am able to notice that methylphenidate somewhat impairs my working memory while giving me good focus. Despite non-FDA approved status of modafinil, I can assure you it is much better for working memory than methylphenidate. Of course, attention is not so highlighted with modafinil as I would like it to be.

Adderall/Metadate/Ritalin/Conc... comparison dosages?

Adderall is an amphetamine - actually, a racemic mixture of several amphetamine salts.

Methylphenidate (Ritalin) is an amphetamine-like drug, but it is not an amphetamine, chemically speaking.

Metadate is actually a trade name of methylphenidate HCL. Metadate CD is a controlled-release form of methylphenidate, and reduces the number of doses while providing a more stable plasma level of the drug in your system, over time.

Typically, amphetamines like dextroamphetamine and amphetamine (both are contained in Adderall) are roughly twice as potent as methylphenidate. So, 60 milligrams of methylphenidate would be about right, mathematically speaking.

You should keep in mind that 60 mg. of methylphenidate is considered to be a high dose (just as 30 mg. of Adderall is high) and not everyone tolerates drugs the same. In other words, you might find that you can tolerate a high dose of Adderall, but the same dose of Ritalin may be effective because your body just metabolizes it that way. For that reason, your doctor will prescribe a lower dose than is likely necessary, and titrate (adjust) the dose until a happy medium between effectiveness and lack of side effects is reached.

How old is Ritalin also known as Concerta?

Ritalin is not also known as Concerta. Ritalin is just a regular pill and concerta is a tab with stuff inside (my doctor explained it to me when he prescribed it to me) b/c I take 54 mg of concerta in the morning... 10 of ritalin at noon (at school) and I'm SUPPOSED to take another 10 when I get home from school

What does methylphenidate show up as on a drug screen?

Methylphenidate (Ritalin, Concerta, etc) doesn't typically show up on a standard 5-panel UDS but I've heard of it happening. It is, however, readily detectable on broader screens. Although methylphenidate isn't an Amphetamine it will test positive as one anyway, perhaps due to the production of the same metabolites. An analysis can differentiate between the two easily.

How does methylphenidate compare to methamphetamine?

Methamphetamine - belongs to at is known generally as the "amphetamine tree". Common things that fall under this tree would be things like MDMA or obviously MDA, street speed In Europe is just base amophetamine sulfide, hydrobromide, ect. Methylphenadite - this chemical is factually a more cocain related analogue, works on the same concept. Although it does have a longer effective time, but this all depends roughly of ROA(route of access). Now, when it comes to chemical variants such as dextramphetamines(adderal //), dextromethylephenidate (focolin), and even dextro l-base isomers of Methamphetamine. These are chemicals bound to another to give the same effect but different or altered metabolism levels. And in turn this can be made out to how long the effects last.  I could describe effects better, but I donot even have enough time to type all of that
