Is My Birth Control Causing Me To Be Moody And Sleepy Or Is It Cause I Moved

Why is birth control making my period worse?

Yes, your body is adjusting to the pill. It can take one to four months for it completely adjust. I went on the pill for the same exact reason as you...wouldn't get them for six months at a time! I did have to switch around to three different pills to see which one works well for me. Some times its best to start out on a low level estrogen pill to see how your body reacts to that first.. You could be really sensitive like me. However, if it is making you feel uncomfortable, it wouldn't hurt to call and discuss this with your doctor. I went to the doctor recently because I have chronic migraines...he said one of the reasons could from the estrogen in the pill...so maybe you are taking way too high of a dose..so again, I recommend starting on a low dose estrogen pill.
Good luck!!! :)

Question about coming off Birth Control Pills?

Okay, so I've been on 3 different birth control pills in a little under 2 years. I was first on the mini-pill for about 8 months as I was breastfeeding my daughter when she was first born. I was switched to Yaz, as my obygyn told me that the mini-pill is not as effective when you are no longer breastfeeding. Needless to say, Yaz was not for me. I was the biggest ***** in the world. My husband couldn't STAND me. Well, from there, I was switched to Loestrin 24Fe. I've been on this pill now for about 10 months or so, maybe a little longer. I've recently started having really bad side effects, which I think are from the pill. I'm constantly moody, I have ZERO sex drive, which is killing me and my husband, and I'm never happy anymore. Prior to ever being on birth control, I was probably the most carefree and happiest person in the world. Now, I am constantly stressing. Deep-down, I'm really pretty miserable all the time. Mu husband thinks I'm cheating on him because I have absolutely no desire to have sex...with ANYONE! I was off the pills for about 5 days, and magically, I felt SO much better. I've also recently developed pregnancy symptoms over the last two months. My boobs are huge, I'm constantly hungry, and I'm nauseous. I read a lot of reviews online and many women seem to experience these same side effects as me. What I'm wondering is if anyone here has also been through the same thing. Also, I really just want to stop taking the pills. Is it okay to stop in mid-pack? I'd say I have about 9 pills left, including 4 sugar pills, but I'm tired of being miserable and not wanting sex and not having a period. Please let me know what you think and what your experiences have been. My husband is hesitant of me getting off the pill for fear of pregnancy, but I told him condoms were invented for a reason. I'm tired of feeling like this and I really think it's my decision at this point. Thanks in advance for all the help.

Should I switch birth control pills (again)?

I was on the weakest pill available when I first went on it. I had very heavy periods that lasted 2 weeks and massive cramps where I would collapse on the floor in tears. I was gradually increased until I was on the strongest available and still nothing was changing.

The conclusion was that I was sensitive to estrogen and there was nothing anyone could do about it... until I found out that the contraceptive implant didn't contain any estrogen.

Since then, my periods are a lot lighter, less frequent and shorter in duration. My longest period lasted 4 weeks but it was mostly spotting and it was after 6 months of no bleeding. My shortest has been a couple of days. But I'm happy with that if it means no pain and very little bleeding a few times a year.

It hurt to get it put in (the anesthetic, not the implant) and nearly collapsed soon after (aparently that's normal), but otherwise, I've had it in for 2 years now and loving it. It's so much better then the pill.

Also when I was on the pill, I was very moody too. Especially depressed. I felt so alone even though I had loads of friends and although I never thought about harming myself, I constantly thought about running away and disappearing. About 90% of these feelings dissappeared once I stopped the pill.

The only downfall that I found with stopping the pill, I have fantastic skin while on it. It was flawless! But now that I'm off it, I've always got pimples - not acne, just pimples.

But that is all my own opinion. Another advantage, it's almost virtually impossible to fall pregnant with it, it's more effective then the pill and you don't have to remember to take it at the same time ever day either.

So rather then a different type of pill, what about looking into a differenet type of contraceptive?

Birth control pills - Can they make you crazy ?

Yes they can. I have complete psychosis if I take birth control pills, and immediately start trying to drown myself in the bath tub.

You would not believe the number of women admitted to psych wards because of the Pill, and the numbers are not known because hospitals refuse to put that down as the reason.

It sounds like your fiancee is not really crazy, but moody and irritable, which is bad enough.

Some women do better on a different pill, like a low-dose one.

Why am I constantly tired? I take iron and vitamin D tablets, but they are not working. Why could this be?

Because in the great majority of people who feel tired, but no iron nor vitamin D deficiency has been demonstrated, taking them at random won’t ever help, at the most at placebo level. Many, many physcially healthy people feel fatigued, only a small minority of them has an underlying physical problem. In most young people feeling tired has nothing to do with having physical problem, being (chronically) stressed out, in some being depressed, saps you of all your energy, thus you feel tired. Some people work too hard for too long, the why would be evident too, some just can’t say no when asked to help out, so will do lots and lots of extra work on top of their usually very busy schedule, no wonder they are tired. There also is a condition we don’t exactly know what it really is (some say it’s our immune system reacting the wrong way), nor how to effectively treat it, we call Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS/ME), in spite of sometimes serious symptoms we in the last decade have never found any underlying physical problem explaining the symptoms.Of course there is a long list of possible underlying physical conditions, to name just a few:-anemia (low hemoglobin), in many females due to heavy periods or having been pregnant often, these people having an iron deficiency will benefit from iron supplementation. But, there are more underlying problems causing anemia, in developing less hygienic places, and people having been there, hookworm investation can cause an iron deficiency anemia too. These people need to be dewormed. In others it’s the first symptom of having an otherwise asymptomatic mainly right sided colon cancer.-hypothyroidism-in some having a large neck circumference it could point to Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA), which by obstructing the flow of air in the throat causes the person to frequentely wake up during their sleep, so sleep badly and are tired after waking up.This can be treated by wearing a CPAP mask during sleep, the raised air pressure in one’s throat will by acting like a kind of splint prevent the throat from closing when during sleep muscles are relaxed-being short of breath: asthma, COPD-heart failure-other chronic diseasesso if you keep feeling fatigued, while there are no psychological problems see above, see your doc to have these excluded.

How does our brain/body prevent us from urinating while sleeping?

Your brain/body prevent you from urinating during sleep? Uh oh...Just kidding, of course :P. This is actually an interesting question. First and foremost however, it can easily be argued that it doesn't. If you drink too many fluids before bed, have a tiny bladder, or have certain diseases which disrupt control of urine production, your brain will generally wake you, and you get up to go to the bathroom. At other times, the brain signalling your uncomfortably full bladder, may become incorporated into your dreams! That said, there are still mechanisms that have evolved to help sleep continue uninterrupted as possible. The primary way this is done is through a chemical called antidiuretic hormone (ADH). This rather useful hormone is not only active during sleep, but is involved in regulating urine production during waking hours as well. Don't think of it as some handy but ultimately useless little hormone, either - it's critical in regulating hydration and overall water content of your body, as well as blood-pressure. Essentially, it works by making certain functional units of the kidney more (or less) permeable to water, helping to control the volume of urine produced. There are other accessory hormones and signalling mechanisms that work together with ADH to control urine output, however it is the primary and most effective regulator of urine while asleep. There are physical mechanisms preventing you from peeing in bed as well. Most sleeping adolescents and adults have increased tone of certain sphincters and accessory muscles found throughout the urinary system. This helps keep urine where it belongs, even if your bladder is becoming full enough to require a good old-fashioned nocturnal emptying :P

Loestrin 24 and Depression?

How long have you been taking Loestrin 24? It usually takes 3 months for your body to get used to the birth control you are one.

Depression is a side effect of birth control. And there are side effects that you can ignore and push on through and then there are side effects that are lifestyle changing and should be addressed. Since depression is lifestyle changing I suggest you go back to your heath care provider and tell them what you are experiencing and that you would like to switch to either a different brand of birth control pills or a different form of birth control. You have to find birth control that works with your body, not against it.

It's normal for women to get side effects from birth control and switch to a different brand or form. I was on Ortho Evra (the patch) and it made me angry and hot all the time. So I went to Yasmin and that lowered my libido so I switched again. I went to Femcon Fe and that was great for years except for the occasional spotting. And now I am on Lo Loestrin 24 Fe because I like the idea of low hormones. And I am having some acne, but it's not lifestyle changing and slowly going away as the months pass.

So again, I suggest you go back to your heath care provider and ask them to switch your to a different brandy of birth control pill or a different form of birth control.

Good luck!
