Is My Dog A Mixed Breed

What bred is my Dog? Do you get papers from a mixed bred?

So about 4 months ago, I got a puppy from a breeder. The breeder told us it was half Yorkie and half Maltese. (Morkie) He told us there were no papers because the puppy wasn't a pure bred. (That seemed to make sense to us).
So, 4 months later: Our puppy is as cute as a button! However, her long puppy fur has transformed into very short hair. Her legs almost look like those of a mini pinscher. She still has long hair on her back. From a picture you would think she was pure Yorkie. However, this short hair is throwing me off.
Do you get papers from a mix bred? Does anyone have any experience with this?

How do you breed a mixed breed dog?

You acquire a female dog that is old enough to go into heat and isn't spayed. You aren't careful to keep her confined. About 60 days after she comes into heat and get out you will have a litter of mixed breed puppies.Do not do this. By bringing another litter of pups into this world and identical number of puppies or dogs will be killed to make room for them. There are more dogs around than have homes. If you want a mixed puppy or dog go down to the shelter a get one. This is facts and figures.Animal Shelter EuthanasiaThis is the Google search for dog shelter euthanasia. I was going to post some of the pictures directly, but I want to spare the people who already know this. For people that don't get their dogs and cats fixed, these images should be glued to their bedroom walls.dog shelter euthanasia - Google Search

Can there be a three dog mix?

We once caught our neighbour’s Pomsky (Pomeranian and Husky Mix) dog getting its ‘freak on’ with my mum’s beloved Cockapoo (Cocker Spaniel and Poodle Mix) Dog in our back garden. Safe to say my mum went ballistic.Fast forward two or three months and boom… a litter of CockapoomskiesSome resembled Poodles some resembled Huskies , another other looked like a cross between each. But one pup in particular looked absolutely bizarre and not like any of the other breeds. So believe me, it is very possible for even a four dog mix. What are some nice pictures of mixed breed dogs?

Meet Mia:I have no idea what she is. Honestly, I think that she has some wild dog in her because she has such a high prey drive and extremely good natural instincts. She's extremely intelligent. Even as a little puppy she began bossing around dogs twice her size because she knew that they were strong enough to do tasks that she couldn't, like moving bricks or removing her cone of shame. She's been growing up without me sadly, since I'm at college, and I am told that she misses me greatly.I'm told that I'm her favorite human because she's much more respectful towards me and is happiest when I'm around. This is her looking at my boyfriend, her main caretaker.I do take care of her financially. She's spayed, has all of her shots, and is microchipped and registered under Found Animals. One last picture. This one’s my favorite.

Can a mixed breed small dog enter in dog shows?

That depends on what dog show you’re wanting to enter. The majority of dog shows in the US are AKC dog shows. This includes the shows you see on TV. All dogs entered in these shows must be an AKC registered dog. Since only purebred dogs can be AKC registered, a mixed breed dog cannot be entered in these dog shows. Mixed breed dogs are allowed to be entered into AKC performance shows/activities such as agility, obedience, and rally. The UKC also holds a fair number of dog shows and performance events in the US, but once again, dogs must be purebred in order to be registered with the UKC.The same holds true for Canada (CKC shows) and parts of Europe (FCI member shows). There are some very small and controversial dog registries in the US that will register dogs of questionable pedigrees. A few of these registries are starting to hold dog shows. Some of the dogs registered to the registries look like they are mixed breed, but it wouldn’t be very ethical to try to register a dog you know is mixed breed.TL:DRThere aren’t any organizations in the US that I am aware of that allows mixed breeds to show in conformation events (dog shows).

Mixed Breed Dogs: What is a Golden Doodle?

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed breed. Purportedly it is Golden Retriever with a Standard or Miniature Poodle. I refuse to use a "breed-like name" for a mongrel dog, it is too deceptive. Because these dogs are mixed breeds you have NO way to know if you are actually getting a dog of the purported mix, and I have yet to meet a dog of that particular mix that didn't shed like a fiend, mat faster than you could comb it, and have a screw loose.I'm not sure why they are so popular since I have never met one that had anything but the WORST traits of both parent breeds - and I still can't understand why Standard Poodles aren't more popular if people really want a non-shedding dog with a retriever temperament... because that is what Poodles are and have been for hundreds of years!

Can a mix breed dog reproduce?

Yes, of course they can! Humans have been cross-breeding dogs to produce new breeds for over a hundred/ hundreds of years.However- they are donating their own genetic materiel to their offspring. In other words, a mixture of their traits.  Say you have a Jack Russell (bred to hunt small game) and a Labrador (originally bred to assist fisherman- St. John's Water Dog); these two get together and have a litter of mixed breed pups. Now those pups are going to show a mixture of the mother and father's physical and mental characteristics. OK, on the other hand, you have a Chow Chow (a very old Chinese breed, adapted to cold, harsh climates) and a Besenji (even older- ancient Egyptian dog breed, known as 'bark-less breed', so old original purpose is unknown- short fur, adapted to hot climates) that mate and produce a litter of pups. Ok, now say a few years later, one male and one female from each litter mate and produce a litter of their own. Now we have Chow/ Basenji/ Jack Russell/ Labrador pups. Who knows what they are going to look like and how they will act!Of course, the environment a dog is raised in will contribute greatly to their personality development.See www.gooddogstory.com for more!

Is it possible for dogs to be mixed with three breeds?

Yes, they can, and many of them are, especially the dogs rescued from the city pound, like my dog. He is mixed with many breeds, here is is picture, that’s my Merlin.Merlin has enough French Poodle in him that he does not shed and is very skinny because he is a picky eater ( poodletraits), however, not enough poodle to have the very curly classic poodle hair, he has wavy hair. He looks like could have some Coker spaniel, and some snoozed, and.. who knows what else… but Merlin is still very cute, I think, and he loves me very much. And I love my little fluffy mutt also. He is my little fluffy. But he does not think that of himself. He thinks he is a big bad wolf, and protects mommy from anyone who wants to do her harm ( really).Plus, he trully saved me from a forest, wen I got lost, I allowed him to take the lead, and I just followed him back to the trail, and home…I learned then that no matter how small and cute , Merlin is a dog indeed. Who cares how many breeds is he mixed, he took mommy home safe, he is my hero.
