How do I answer in an interview when asked "what is your weakness"?

Do not try to be Mr. Ideal man. Every one has a weakness. Choose wisely from your weaknesses and state them clearly.Avoid using the famous: "I am perfectionist. I don't rest until I see the perfect output!" This is not a weakness. It's a bloody quality every company desires. The weakness should still persist. Do not say, "I used to be a procrastinator"  "I lacked confidence". So, these are not your weaknesses anymore and the question still remains: "What are your weaknesses?"Also make sure to pick weaknesses which won't affect your candidature. Do not say, "I cannot start my day without watching porn for 2 hours" or "I am an alcoholic and can't survive a day without alcohol!!" You could state something like this:"I tend to overthink on problems. This leads to wastage of time in cases when I reach the same solution as I had before""I am working on my patience level. I get bored easily.""I am a bit short tempered, specially if someone talks to me indecently""I am not a good conversation starter.""I am a glutton. I love to eat junk food. Though I know it adversely affects my health""I lack confidence."If the interviewer asks, "What are you doing to overcome these?", following could be your answers (for each of above weaknesses respectively) :As soon as I realize that I have devoted enough time to the problem and come up with the best solution I can, I move on and look into other problems. I would say, I have overcomed it 80%.I look forward to the outputs of the work I am doing. I keep myself engaged. If I am very bored, I take a 10minutes break to refresh myself and then resume my work.ORI work in intervals i.e. I work for 2-3 hours at a stretch and then take a 10-15 minutes break to rejuvenate myself.I am learning anger management techniques like counting in reverse, or not speaking whenever I am angry.I am learning new facts which could act as good conversation starters. I spend more time in socializing so as to learn how to start a conversation.I have set a maximum limit to the amount I would spend on junk food. I am trying to strictly adhere to it.I encourage myself from my previous achievements whenever I feel low.

I want to apply for a month long leave at my office but I don't want to disclose the actual reason to my boss. What are some of the best excuses that I can give him?

Just tell the truth, one way or another you will get help from your boss.I am working in an organization for 8 years a stretch and I was never denied a leave even it is more than 20 days.I once got 24 days leave to prepare for civil service exam for first attempt and 14 days in the following year and for MBA exams and all my Engineering masters Semesters. All the time I said the true. You can be happy even if the leave is denied since you didn't lied.It is not your misery that you didn't get OK for the true, it is misery of the person who denied the truth. It's a free country, think and do what is morally correct.Hope this helps.Thank you for reading...

My older sister makes me cry every night please help!!!?

please don't be sad. I know how you feel my brother is the exact same way except im 14 and hes 18. I try to tell my mom but she doesn't do anything. My brother has done some pretty dumb stuff to me like missing my birthday to go with his, breaking my locket and even shaving a part of my head. the thing that made him stop bothering for a while is that i reached my boiling point and i blew up!!! i wasn't lecturing i wasn't explaining no honey i was screaming. Now i don't advise you to just trow a fit but stand your ground. be a tough b***h show her whose boss. and also ignore her... don't talk to her don't pay attention to her what so ever. if she sees that you don't pay attention to her she'll stop. And if that doesn't work talk to your mom, like a serious talk. make her listen to you and tell her what your sister does to you and how it makes you feel. and tell her if she really cared about you then tell her to make your sister leave you alone

What advice can you give your juniors who have just joined college?

Rather than 'advice', here are 10 guiding questions, and some common myths to avoid:Everybody knows "What I study is not what's important in real life". But do you know what is? Find it out. Be curious.Until then, do justice to whatever you take up. Studies, partying or otherwise. Commitment. Am I confusing 'being cool' with 'being lazy'? Lazy folks find excuses to avoid all work. Cool people do work that makes an impact on others. At 21, playing the guitar might make a bigger  impact than scoring good marks. So be it! But then, work your ass off on learning the guitar. Maximize impact.Do not fall for the 'KTs are common in engineering' myth if you are in an Indian engineering college. Read Are KTs inevitable in Engineering? Learn from failure, don't justify itIt is not about "How much better my professors, college, system, university could be!" It is about "What are you doing to make the best out of them?" Care more about your life, not their's.Do not worry about 'What am I doing? Will it help my career?'. Just think 'Am I doing something productive?' This might vary from (genuinely) learning a favourite subject, or the guitar, organizing a festival, traveling to new places - take your pick. Have enriching fun.If you want to gauge your potential for "success" in the real world, don't ask "How many people like me?". Ask 'How many people reach out to me for help?" Learn to be useful. Picking up skills is easy. Building trust is not.Do not be ashamed of failing, as long as you were busy trying to succeed in something else(that mattered more to you) Fail proudly.Do stuff you have not done before. This is not about having a good experience. It is about overcoming the mind's habit to fear new experience. Friends usually do not judge you. Learn a new art, speak on stage, ask that person on a date. Practice stepping out of the comfort zone. Realize that everybody is as lost as you are. Majority is not always right. Do not take the easy way because "That's the way it works!" Think for yourself. If you still lose your way and end up doing nothing of the above, do not ask "Oh my God, how can I get back the years I wasted?". Just ask "Will I stop wasting my years now?"For career success related skills, read Vijayraj Kamat (विजयराज कामत)'s answer to What is lacking in Indian graduates in terms of skills, and what solution do you suggest?
