Is My Singing Decent Enough To Try To Do Anything With It

How do you know if your singing voice is good enough?

I think my question is, why is it important and what does 'good enough' mean if you enjoy singing?I used to sing and play for a living. I also knew people who were what I would call 'character singers'. I am not sure I would rate them as singers per se but they were making a living at it. That means they were obviously good enough! Performance isn't all about what some people define as perfect singing. Sure some singers are but not all are. In any case modern computer trickery means vocal talent in terms of recording etc has never been less important.I would say the main thing is enjoying your singing. If you enjoy it, get in the shower and belt some tunes out! Do some karaoke, sing in a choir, sing in a band, sing whilst you go about your day. Enjoy it. In many ways doing it for a job takes away a lot of the enjoyment.I would hesitate to say get singing training because I have heard people with beautiful natural voices braying like donkeys once a pseudo-operatic 'expert' has transferred their affectation (unless that is a vocal style you want to develop). There are definitely things you can learn but unless you have an insatiable urge to perform it isn't something you are likely to be making a living at. If that is something you are sort of pondering in writing this question, I think you would know beyond doubt that you wanted to be singing on stage and everyone would be falling over themselves telling you. There is a whole lot of talent out there and there are talented people with a look that can be marketed etc who want it beyond any moral conviction. If you don't want it at least that much it isn't very likely you will be singing professionally. That doesn't mean you can't sing your heart out though… Go on... do something on YouTube

I'm doubting my singing ability...?

hi, I've always dreamed of becoming a professional musician. I write my own songs and I do have a nice voice (good enough to get enthusiastic applause from audiences and get compliments from strangers), but lately I've been doubting my ability.

My friend has a voice like Beyoncé. I have a voice like Fiona Apple or Corinne Bailey Rae.. But does that mean that she has a better voice than me? Do I have to have a voice like Beyoncé to be successful?

What makes one singer better than another singer? And do I still have hope of accomplishing my dreams?

Why does my voice get worn out singing something that isn’t pop?

I personally do a lot of working out, both with my voice and with weights. I can do lots of reps with some pretty high weights, but if I had to stop partway through the rep and hold there, I’d get tired fast. The same principle holds with your voice.Personally, I can hit that high note that comes up every phrase or so in ‘Attention’ by Charlie Puth, but singing the beginning of Mr. Brightside used to be very tiring for my voice. Attention has a lot higher of a note there, but Mr. Brightside is similar to holding that rep in the middle. It’s just barely in that uncomfortable range where you can hit it and sound good, but you don’t want to hold it.These songs are pretty decent examples of general melody in pop and general melody in that alternative-punk you’ve been trying out. The case may be for you is that these songs you listen to are on the edge of your range, and are just making you tired because they stay high longer, while pop drops down (almost) every time it goes up.

How to sing better without singing lessons?

Heyy this is me (the guy who asked "What do you think about my singing, and do I have a shot in a singing career?). And honestly, I can't tell exactly "HOW" to "learn" how to sing, but I can say that if you start practicing NOW then I promise you'll get better by adult-teenage years. I mean I'm 15 going after a singing career and it seems as though my voice grows DEEPER and DEEPER EVERYDAY ! Soo I have to drink water and sweet tea and sing just to keep my singing voice active. But anyways all I can tell you is that keep "TRYING" to practice, and drink LOTS & LOTS of water and sweet tea and keep your throat clear. I Tell Myself Everyday, That I Won't Make Anything Out Of Myself, Cause Sometimes I Have Trouble With My Voice (Puberty) Lolz. But If You Like To Sing, Then You Should Keep Practicing Just Like Me ! And I Will Pray For You ! :)

Also below I have included a guy that can help you with your singing. Go to his videos. They can help :) And Add Me --------------------> http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001291028950

I can speak from experience, as someone who couldn’t belt, twang, sing more than an octave and a bit and had massive pitching issues to someone who has been singing professionally for the last 15 years. I did at least 15 minutes exercising a day as well as singing through lots of material and within six months my voice made an incredible change. You can too.

I want to sing to my girlfriend, But i know my voice...sucks. how can Improve my voice enough to sound decent?

I'm kind of a "Romantic", and i want to sing her something to tell her how i feel. but Ive Heard myself singing. and it's horrible. I want to sing to her without her thinking about how bad i sound when I'm doing it. can anybody help me out?

Is my singing voice good?

Definitely Tenor
Right now you don't have the best voice, but you certainly have the potential to get better. When you sing, don't push out each note or try to shake your voice. It sounds like you're singing out of your chest and thrusting your head forward when you sing. When you sing, try to sing with less force, sit/stand up strait, and keep your head in one place; don't stretch out your neck.

I wish you the best of luck. When I was 14 I was told I didn't have a good enough voice and now I have singing gigs all the time all over LA :)

Singing tips?

I am a professional singer, and what you should do is you shouldn't try to hit the higher notes. You should sing within your voice level, that means you should sing a little higher than you normally talk. And a little lower than you normally talk. And another thing to do is listen to other sings by excellent singers and you could learn how to imitate their voice for a song that is suitable for you. Once you can sing that song good enough by imitating the singers voice, then you can sing the song how you would normally sing it. (Sing it in your real singing voice) After that, you should sing it for someone and ask them what you need to change. And then you can start writing songs that are a lot easier to sing because they're in your voice level.

Note: A song must have a Main Hook, 1 or 2 Hooks, 2 verses, and a bridge.
If you don't know what those are, ask a musician or research it on the internet. But you should really concentrate on listening to peoples' songs, and learning how to sing from that. Trust me, it works! Because I'm about to make an album soon!
