Is My Three Year Old Overweight

Is 310 lbs overweight for a 14-year-old male that is 6′1?

I hesitate to say for a fact you’re overweight. Looking at a number of the other answers all the responses indicate you’re overweight. However, there is a but.Firstly, lets check your BMI (Body Mass Index). Although a poor indicator it is a useful starting point. BMI CalculatorAt your age that puts your BMI at over 40 which is a lot. The web site referenced above indicates ‘Overweight’ in Red and bold test. At your age the recommended BMI is 16 - 22.6.However, the above is all speculation. At my age, height and weight my BMI is about 30 which is also overweight, however, measured properly I am way below 20% body fat. In fact, my abs are almost completely exposed. So BMI is a poor indicator when fit and muscular individuals are considered. It is only an indicator for normal sedentary individuals.Statistically it is likely you’re very overweight, however, there is always a slim chance you’re a genetic wonder with a huge frame and plenty of muscle, and little fat. I suggest you get your body fat measured properly and then see if you’re really overweight.

What’s the best food/diet for my three year old overweight 12-13 pound cat? Her current food is fancy feast.

Get a quality food such as Blue Buffalo Weight Control. If Chubby is an only cat, accurately measure the recommended daily intake on the food bag and DO NOT be talked into giving more food. Also work on increasing the kitties exercise.

My 3 year-old weighs 50 lbs!?

My husband and i have been overweight most of our lives. I have been on so many diets in my life i cant even tell you. When i had my 2 kids i was really concious of their eating habits, and we have changed ours which was REALLY difficult. we love junk. I do let my kids have some junk foods but it is really limited.
I dont think you should put him on a diet, she is only 3. You need to change your lifestyle. change your eating habits for ever and teach him how to eat the right foods. he will and can only eat what you let him. Also teach him and show him exercise is a part of life. I have reciently taken up running (never ever ever thought of doing this in my life, but it has changed my life and i love it...im addicted) My kids SEE this and they want to be active. I take them on bike rides, roller blading, to the park, nature walks. I just make physical activity apart of their daily routine, but it is fun for them. kids love to be outside, so go out and have fun. At 3 i joined my son up for soccer, he loved it. he is now 5 and wants to play sports he is starting T-ball soon. He isnt very good at sports but loves to play them which is most important. Have you, or your husband go out and kick a ball around, get a T and have him hit the ball.

I know how you feel it is upsetting to think your child will grow up being overweight, but YOU are the one in control and have the power to give him a healthy start. Its not to late. My daughter is 3.5 and is 42 lbs. She is a big girl, very tall but not heavy...just big. my husband has a big frame and she takes after him, she will never be a skinny minny. What i am saying he doesnt seem to be that heavy but now is the time to change your life and his. Good luck! You can turn his life and yours around and become healthy, its not easy but it is what you have to do. they learn everything by example.

How can I help a 10 year old overweight kid get fit?

In addition to the excellent suggestions given with respect to food inputs (no junk food, low cal and nutritious snacks only, portion control, adequate hydration) I can only add one more suggestion:Having classes which are physical in nature are not the same things as a kid playing -- hard -- outside -- and having so much fun with friends that they all forget to eat and have to be called inside for meals!Make your home the place for kids to play hard, physically. If you have space:Put up a basketball hoop. Put in a big tree swing or build one according to what is safe. Build a treehouse with a steep ladder or a climbing rope with knots for access to it. Put a secured pull-up bar at the top of the doorway to his bedroom or in a hallway. Make it so he has to jump to reach it. It is good for the whole family!Get hula hoops. Get jump ropes. Get a trampoline. Put in a swimming pool. Do whatever you can design, create, and afford to make your home as much physical fun for your child and his or her kid friends, as possible. No amount of class hours or team sports will burn the calories that hard playing plus flow time will burn. I have noticed that boys go through a very pudgy stage right before puberty -- typically between 8-12 years of age, depending on the individual boy. And then he suddenly begins growing -- growing slowly at first, and then very, very quickly. It could be that your son is going through this prepubescent stage. When boys in my neighborhood were going through this stage, they typically had two lunches and two dinners (or more!) at my home and at a neighbor boy's home. I remember marveling with my neighbor that our grocery bills suddenly skyrocketed and our refrigerators were emptying so quickly! Also check with a pediatrician to chart height and weight, to make sure he is growing as he should. Assuming you know how to create nutritious meals (never buy candy, chips, soda, or any junk food) my guess is that more fun physical things to do and time will work to your ten year-old son's advantage.

What is a normal weight for a 3 year old cat?

Depends on boning. Smaller boned cats average 6-8 lbs; average/medium boned cats 8-12 lbs; large boned cats 13+ lbs. Males are a few pounds larger then females.

Am I OverWeight? 142 lbs, 5'7, and 14 yrs old? PLZ HELP!!!?

You can't spot reduce.

Do some crunches and leg lifts every morning and every night. Do 30 minutes of cardio at least three times a week (run/walk/bike). Get 6 to 8 hours of sleep every night (turn off the TV and the computer).

Cut back on the foods you eat with high fat and high sugar content. Try to eat only single servings (read the label) with less than 3g saturated fat and 3g sugars.

Eat breakfast, and eat five small meals per day instead of three big meals.

If you don't wake up starving, you ate too much the day before.

Good luck.
