Is My Tongue Web Piercing Normal

Tongue web piercing bleeding? Is it normal?

So I got my tongue webbing pierced yesterday. Today I was laying down on the couch and I tasted something sour and strong. I went to the bathroom to see what it was and my mouth was FULL with blood. So I took the jewelry out and held paper towels to the holes to sto it from bleeding. Eventually it slowed down and I decide to not put the jewelry in right away. So I waited a few hours for the blood to fully stop and I put the jewelry back in. Is it normal for it to bleed like this? Help?

Is my tongue web piercing normal?

I got my tongue web pierced on Sunday with a 16 gauge surgical steel RING. It is now Tuesday and it feels as if it hurts more than it did to begin with. It's a little bit swollen, but last night I noticed that there was white gooey stuff around the holes but on the jewelry. Is this normal? I read that plaque builds up on it, so is this what is happening? I can't take it out to clean it, the ball to the ring Can not come off without some tool that the guy had and I'm also scared if I take it out I won't be alble to get it back it. It bled a TINY bit this morning but I think that's because I hit it on my bottom teeth really hard. How long will it take for the pain to subside? I have been taking Advil, and that helps a little. Also I have been eating ice chips, and drinkin slushies when they are available. Is there any better way to help with the pain? Is there anything that will help it heal?

Would it be better to get my tongue piercing and tongue web piercing done at the same time so they can heal together?

If this were twenty years ago, I’d be fully supportive of having a tongue piercing, and even a little excited for you. However, I learned the hard way just how much damage it can do to your teeth. I’m not telling you not to do it. Just think about it really hard. Most piercing jewelry is made of metals - very, very strong metals - and if you bite down on it - even by accident - it can cause permanent damage to your teeth, or possibly even cause you to have a tooth pulled out completely.Remember - you only get one set of teeth.

What is a tongue web piercing?

I'm guessing that you're talking about a tongue frenulum piercing, that piece of thin, taut skin underneath your tongue:Word to the wise: do not look up this piercing sans the word "tongue." There's more than one frenulum on the body and the other one is NSFW.

Pain 2 days after tongue web piercing?

ITS A BABY STILL!!!! :-) your piercing is still super new and its very normal to have pain still. My tongue web hurt for about a week after I got it pierced. Slushies and slurpees helped a ton! Ice helps anything really to keep it cold and keep the swelling down.

A few things that might help...if you're using mouthwash make sure there is no alcohol in it. The alcohol will irritate your piercing and build some scar tissue in the tissue around your jewelry, and that looks gross! H2Ocean mouthwash works well. Also, spicy foods can irritate it as well from the oils and heat in the spices. And try to keep the plaque from building up on your jewelry. Make sure you're doing sea salt soaks as well just to help your healing process and help flush out the bacteria in your mouth. Mix 4 teaspoons on sea salt or non-iodized salt in a gallon of distilled water (ya the ratio is important) pour some of the solution in a cup and warm it up in the microwave...to around bathwater warmth temp., and put some in your mouth and swirl it around for 5 to 10 minutes (you can spit out a mouthful and get another one if it gets to thick from spit).

Good luck with your piercing! Remember not to hesitate to bring your piercing questions and concerns to your piercer!
