Is My Year Old Nipple Piercing Being Rejected

M nipple piercing won't heal.?

Go back to your piercer and have them look at it. It would be hard for me to tell you what to try without knowing what you are using to clean it now.
It should be a liquid unscented anti-bacterial soap and water twice a day, and non-iodized sea slat soaks once a day for 10 minutes or H2Ocean (in place of sea salt soaks). If this is not your current aftercare then switch to that and it hsould help...if you are already doing that and it is still not healing, I have a list of questions that need to be answered in order to know why it is taking so long to heal...
1) Where is the piercing placed on the nipple? it should be right where the areola meets the nipple, any deeper will make it take much longer to heal and any shallower and you risk rejection.
2) Do you have barbells, curved barbells, or Captive Bead Rings (hoops)? If you have hoops or curved barbells try switching to straight barbells as this often releases tension on the piercing.
3) What cup size are you? I find anyone over a small C takes longer to heal do to pressure on the piercing from the bra, so if you are larger in the chest you need to stop wearing your bra whenever possable.
4) Have you used alcohol or peroxide on them? if yes then stop doing that imediatley that is a major no no with piercings! and will cause them to take longer to heal
5) Do you (or anyone else) play with them ever? The answer to this should be no, if the answer is yes then stop it! They should not be touched except for cleaning until they are healed.
now if none of those are a reason for you then go see your doctor and tell him/her that you can't seem to get your piercings to heal but you don't want to take them out and can they prescribe a vitamin or diet that will help your body heal faster, as the way we take care of ourselves has a lot to do with how long it takes to heal piercings.

Nipple piercing rejection?

Hi. I had both of my nipples pierced around two months ago. The right one is doing spectacularly, although a small amount of the bar is visible at the edge of the skin. However, it seems to have settled and is not migrating further.

The left one, however..

Well, a little background information. My nipples sometimes get irritated and when they do, they peel slightly. Gross, eh? But anyway, I have no idea if this contributed to the problem. My nipples are doing fine for about a month, and then I start to notice a crusty edge on the left one. This eventually comes off, after a sea salt soak loosened it up to the point it was only barely holding on. Whala, big dent taken out of my nipple! Shock! I figured it would simply grow over and heal as skin tends to do.
The process of crusty, dry skin forming over the bar happens over and over again until I start applying Jojoba oil to it. There is no crust on it now, but it seems like there is a bigger dent on my nipple! The piercing is not sore, but it also doesn't seem to be healing back in the 'proper' way. I place bandaids over it to sort of 'hold it down' and try to encourage the skin to grow back around it.

Any idea what the problem is or what I should do? It doesn't seem to have the conventional signs of rejection - it's only slightly red, possibly from thicker scar tissue than the left, and I'm not sure how painful it is to play with because I don't want to risk further unsettling it. However, I'm worried I'm going to lose more of my nipple tissue! Has anyone had this happen to them? How did you fix it, or did it just worsen?

Please help.:( I love these piercings so much.

Breastfeeding with rejected nipple piercing?

I had my nipples pierced when I was about 14 years old. I want to have something that nobody else had, and found a guy who did them out of his house (I know this was very stupid of me). Anyways, about 2 years after I got them pierced, one of them rejected (to the point where that nipple is actually split in two). I know you can still breastfeed if you have had pierced nipples, or if they are still pierced, however I was wondering since the nipple is split if I would be able to breatfeed out of that one as well, or if I would only be able to breastfeed out of the healed one.

Breastfeeding and nipple piercings?

You should not have any problems, some milk ducts may have been damaged when the initial piercing was done - but, the breasts have MANY milk ducts going all through the breasts. You wont really know if you will have complications until you begin trying to breastfeed.. Best of luck, ask your doc/midwife next time you go for appointment for more info.

Nipple piercing rejecting or migrating? how would i know?

Nipple piercings may take up to 12 months to heal for some, so I wouldn't call it rejection yet. Having crustiness or a little blood is normal, even on nipple piercings that are several years old.

Migration is actually not a bad thing, since the jewelry may move around during healing. Basically, think of migrating as the jewelry settling in its proper place.

Rejection is a completely different thing altogether. When a piercing rejects, the body will usually try to push out of the body very quickly, usually within a couple months of the piercing. Essentially, if your piercing was going to reject, it probably would have done so by now.

I also don't think your piercing is infected, either. As I said, all of this is normal and does not indicate any problem.

Nipple piercings are really hot! Best of luck with it!

SHOULD I RE-PIERCE MY NIPPLES?

i got my nipples pierced (horizontally) about two years ago but they were being rejected and sorta split them so i took them out. i wanted to re-pierce them but i don't know if its a good idea...is there a way to maybe heal the splitting to promoting new skin growth or is it possible to get them pierced vertically?

Nipple piercing - one or both?

Nipple piercings are hot as hell! As for all the people here telling you not to get them, if you want them, do it. They can always be removed. Make your own choices :)

My favorite set that I've seen on a man was both sets done, each one had a titanium CBR, but the left one had a ruby studded ball instead of the standard captive ball. It was very nice.. I'm very keen on symmetry and getting both done.

As far as barbell or ring- have them pierced with a barbell. I'm surprised your piercer hasn't already talked about this, but it's a lot easier to heal a barbell piercing because they move around a lot less than CBRs, are less likely to catch on something, and due to the uncurved shape, much less likely to reject. As a man, you already have a higher risk of rejection because your nipples are small, but as long as the piercing is done deep and with a straight piece of jewlery, you should be fine. Once they heal (usually 3 months for initial healing, 1 year until they're really toughened), you can go back to the piercer for help changing it out to rings (get help on this the first time).

I hope this helps!

Should people get piercings?

Sarah, this is what I found so far…Leviticus 19.281 Peter 3.3Genesis 24.22Proverbs 11.22What I have found, Sarah is that believers in God, especially women who are queens it is that Lord requires us to do what we do moderately.Skin in is beautiful, though, to me, to look upon too many piercings looks like the person isn't even real any more, and to me it looks like, look at me, and look how I have tortured myself, you know, I have caused this pain to myself, now look at my skin. (Think about how you will possibly look with the piercing or the mark left when or if you're sixty years old, and what witness of goodness http://or….it will bring.) The focus is not on God or on helping others, but to maybe get attention, or they may be done so that one can feel alive—but that's found in being born of God.My ears are pierced, Sarah, but that's enough for me. (There’s another Scripture, I believe, and, if I can find it, I hope to share it with you.)When I look on multiple piercings, I think of the underworld or of another religion, if there were even one.Have an enjoyable and productive life.

Can you get an infection from sleeping on a piercing?

Can you get an infection from sleeping on a piercing?I suppose it depends on the cleanliness of your bedding including pillows and of course the cleanliness of yourself. During sleep time is when the body starts working on the inside, if an infection were to start whilst sleeping then the antibodies would react and keep the area as clean and infection free, if you wake with gunge on a piercing, look and see the colour and texture, if it's soft and grungy I would get it checked out if it's hard and crusty then this is the healing process but also the body will be healing around the piercing internally too so it's important to clean with sterile equipment (clean cotton bud and antisceptic) and move gently the piercing until it moves freely, the body will continue to heal around the piercing but constant moving will persuade the body to heal itself only. Do not remove the piercing as it will start the healing process immediately if it is relatively new. Even after many years (+20) my piercings can get tight, this is the body doing its job constantly healing itself. Some people have a massive immune system with bionic antibodies etc in which the piercing is forced out of the body because it isn't a part of itself. Eyebrow piercings are well known for that and I don't blame the body for not wanting disruption around its eyesocket/ball. I have seen one person who's nipple rejected a piercing, leaving almost a mouth shape on the nipple head! Looked funny to view. The thing to realise is that piercings are foreign objects to the body and the body will either accept or reject it.:)
