Do you think the working poor are invisible in America?
A few months ago I read a book by David K. Shipler called, 'The Working Poor: Invisible in America'. Consider this excerpt from the book: "Tim Brookes, a commentator on National Public Radio, once did a witty screed against overpriced popcorn in movie theaters. Indignant at having been charged $5 for a small bag, he conducted research on the actual expenses. He calculated that the 5 1/4 ounces of popcorn he recieved cost 23.71875 cents in a supermarket but only 16.5 cents at prices theatrer managers paid for a fifty-pound sack. He generously figured 5 cents in electricity to cook the popcorn and 1 cent for the bag. Total cost: 22.5 cents. Subtracting sales tax, that left a profit of $4.075, or 1,811 percent. Evidently the theatre had the remarkable sense not to hire any workers, for Brookes gave no hint of having noticed anyone behine the counter. Their paltry wages, which wouldn't have undermined the excession profits, were absent from his calculation. The folks who popped the corn, filled the bag, handed the bag to him, must have been shrouded in an invisibility cloak. No NPR editor seemed to notice." I don't think this is the right question ask. It should be 'are their groups of people who want to take your guns away'?First off the probability of you getting killed by a gun is near zero. Its just media and politics that makes people think it's a big issue. Half of 'gun violence' are suicides. There were 13k KILLINGS (not murders) in 2015, out of just under 400million people, that is 1 in 30,769. You should also take into consideration that the majority of murders are directly or indirectly related to the drug trade and gangs on gangs; and really, who cares about them. For example, assault riffles in CA must have a bullet button, 10 bullet clip max. The list of banned 'features' keeps on growing slowly.6. Another tactic of liberals is to create registry lists. This only reason why this is being done is to keep track of who has guns.7. The final tactic is to limit ammo, outlaw certain kinds of ammo.
