Is Paris Hilton a good DJ?
After working backstage at Coachella earlier this year, I [magically] somehow ended up getting invited to a popular artist’s after-party. As you can imagine, it was full of stereotypical Hollywood types: DJs, performers, dancers, managers, you name it. As we walked up to the main dance room, where there was a full DJ setup, complete with lights and speakers so large I swear they were stolen from the event. To my surprise, who was behind the table wearing the giant headphones, nodding and pressing shiny buttons but the very Paris Hilton! Honestly, she played two hit EDM songs and somehow mashed them together, then looped until someone basically kicked her off and took over. From what I gathered from the scene was that she had zero idea of what she was doing… maybe it was the three ‘whippits’ she did in between loops. Who knows.
Have humans already created intelligent life?
I contend that humans have already created life in the form of the computer. It has not become sentient because it is not yet evolved to that state. What do you think? Will computers have rights in the future?
Why do I need self confidence? What’s the point?
People care only about what they see - most people won't wait to meet you before the deduce you, it's how we all cope with uncertainty. Immediately others see you, they start seeking if you're powerful or not. And they look nowhere other than your body language.Confidence convinces - you might think those with the most brilliant ideas are those who really sell but it's a lie. It's those who believe in themselves the most. Watch shark tank and Ted talks, you'll see that those with the highest self confidence are those that wins.Confidence gets the girl - girls are complicated and they hate seeing this but reality is confidence gets most of the girls. They are kinda wired to go after a man that can take care of them and their babies. This is why jerks and confident idiots get laid a lot. And that's the ugly truth.Confidence leads - nobody is gonna follow you if your voice is shaking and you are not sure of yourself. People are riddled with uncertainty, this is why calm and Certainty is so contagious. It sets others free and they follow you.Confidence gets things done - when you are confident, you don't sir at home whining about life. You take action! And when you take action, you get things done and come across more opportunities. Then good things happen.Confidence breeds charisma - confidence is contagious, so few people have it and it being what most people want. What should one do in their 20s to avoid regrets in their 30s and 40s?
Noticed something funny?People in their 30’s purchase a house on a massive loan.Why?So that when they do become old, they can live in it.So what they do is buy a house for a 30 year mortgage or loan and work their ass off for the next 30 years to pay for the loan.Funny thing is - they are working like a dog - spending their entire youth chasing, running and making - so that they can live in a house during their old age.Funny right?And they do not even think of the possibility that - maybe, just maybe - they may die before hand or that something may happen before that - which can change the entire course of their lives.So what these people and many others like them do is - live for the future.First and foremost - How do you know you will live until the age of 40? or 30?How do you know you may not die within 1 year? Next month? Next week?How do you know?The fact is - no one knows!Everyone likes to assume or believe they will live until the ripe old age of 75 or 100. It is nice to have an Optimism Bias but it is better to be practical and realistic.No one knows if you or I will live until the age of 30 or 40.And whatever advice I may give you today - may not be applicable in another few years.Why?Because you have changed, people have changed, the environment has changed and our world has changed.Given a planet where the technology changes every few weeks - you seriously want someone to give you advice for the next 10 years?Well - if you really want something worthwhile to keep in mind and heart….here would be the advice I would give.Live everyday as if it were your last day on the planet.Do everything that needs to be done - so that if you were to die tomorrow - you would live your life knowing - you have no regrets.That doesn’t mean live it recklessly or take a credit card and blow it out it completely. What I mean is - do those things money cannot buy and those things that do not hurt others. And live in a manner that is true to your value system. And where ‘living for the future goes’ - cross that bridge when it arrives.Remember - do not waste what you have right now - for hopes and anticipation for a future you have not seen and do not know if it will ever come.That is why what you have right now - is called “The Present”.Loy Machedo
If you could live the rest of your life in perfect, ideal simulations of your choosing (and once you were in them you'd think they were real) would you choose to do that?
Didn’t you see the Matrix this life here may be fake. Thus I’d be trading one fake life for another. Thus it brings it to a prospective if you can feel, taste, smell, and hear everything in that fake world. How long would it take for it not to be fake at all. If you went in it at an early age and stayed there till your an adult would you have any conception that it was fake. And besides using your own words a perfect life for you/me. Even Star Trek with their holodeck one can’t tell real from fake. Other than the fact that you programed it and had the ability to walk out. To me the perfect set up would not be a plug in to my brain but a real holodeck as my home. Be able to go anyplace in the world and have my home any size that I want it, and have it looking as I want it to, where I want it to be. With that I’d be able to change it as easy as changing the channel on the TV. Today I live in a pent house on the beach tomorrow on the moon. Oh yea and holo friends. Maybe integrate with others by holodeck or brain plug in. Besides I think we’er just 10 to 20 years away from having our first holodeck not as good as those on Star trek You may not be able to hold anything or taste it. But it will look as real as real can be. With our present 3D printers that can make food intergrade that with a holodeck and you can experience more reality. The big challenge would be doing away with the head gear and making it look real. Today we have robots that look and act human putting several in there to interact would really take it to the next level. Down fall to all of that the cost. better be another Bill Gates
