Is Phil Jackson the undisputed GOAT coach?
He's got 11 championships and has been appeared in the NBA Finals 3 straight times on 4 different occasionals. I know he's got to coach numerous superstars like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal. But think about it this way. Rings without PJ Michael Jordan - 0 Kobe Bryant - 0 Shaq - 1 Mike D'Antoni was not able to bring the Lakers together like last season but thats something Phil Jackson could have done.
Is Tim Duncan the most overrated NBA player in NBA history?
Tim Duncan is one of the 5 most overrated players to ever play this game. He's my 3rd favorite player, and I do agree with you to an extent. The reason I say he's overrated is not because of anything he lacks. I do think he's the best PF ever, but I DON'T think he's the undisputed best PF ever. Nowitzki, KG, Malone, and Barkley all have arguments over Duncan. The thing is, fans can be very biased towards Tim Duncan, and they unfairly use his 4 rings to say he's miles better than the rest of the PF's. He's not miles better than the rest of the PF's, and to some degree, he is a product of near perfect scouting, role players, star players around him, and coaching. People use his 4 rings to say he's "miles better" than the rest of the PF's but I made a case a while ago that he's had one of the best careers that benefitted alot from outside circumstances. For EVERY SINGLE championship Duncan has won, it was as the expense of opponents being injured, and suspended in playoff series. In 1999, Larry Johnson was a 10th of himself in the finals due to injury, and Patrick Ewing was injured and didn't play. The Spurs beat the Knicks in 5. In 2003, Dirk got hurt in the WCF in game 3, and the Mavs even won another game in that series, and almost won game 6 in blowout fashon exept Kerr came off the bench nailing 3 after 3, making a comeback that most likely would not have been complete he Dirk played. In 2005, in round 2, against Seattle, Lewis was injured, and the Sonics pushed SA to 6 and it took a game winner to make the Spurs advance. In the WCF, Joe Johnson was injured and SA won in 5. In 2007, Horry trucked Nash which led to an altercation that got Diaw and Amar'e suspended for game 5, which SA ONLY won by THREE points. In all those instances I brought up, had it not been for the injuries, suspensions, and other things, Tim may have only 1, or even no rings at all. That's why I hate when people say he's the "undisputed" best PF because of rings. I'm 100% sure if he had 1 ring, people would be less biased about it. Do Dirk and KG have arguments over Duncan? Absolutely, more so Dirk. And Barkley along with Malone are arguably better as well. Tim is my 3rd favorite player, but the way people are so heavily biased towards him out of respect, overrating him saying he's miles better than those 4 simply isn't fair. All 5 of those PF's I named have arguments for GOAT PF, including Duncan, who yes, is overrated.
