Once children become independent of their parents, they are expected to live their own lives. I am aware that there are places in the world where children, parents and grandparents are intimately involved in each other’s day-to-day lives, or even live together; where adult children live close by, and return home on a weekly basis. However, this is not generally the norm in the UK, at least, not any more.
