Is Question Reporting In Politics A Political Statement

Political question (?

A person who believes that gradual change represents progress, and who feels that government should play a role in preservation of individual freedoms and in addressing social problems would be considered what?
1 Libertarian
2 political moderate
3 communist (uhh no)
4 liberal
5 conservative

How does Politifact choose what political statements to analyze? It seems like most of the statements chosen are aimed toward supporting one particular political point of view.

Principles of PolitiFact and the Truth-O-Meter

Should I restate my politics-related Quora questions in a comment so as to mitigate the effects of question vandalism?

I've done it for questions about very particular grammar. There's varying degrees of success to this as most people won't read the comment. And there's already proof of the original wording in the logs.If your questions are habitually edited, it might be a good strategy to employ. It might even deter it. As seeing that you cannot edit a comment might be enough. As per usual, make sure you're blocking and reporting users that do this.

Can anyone help me write a thesis statement on political parties?

Let us get a few terms properly defined, here. First of all, Conservative is a political philosophy, Liberal is a political philosophy but Moderate is not a political philosophy. A Conservative has strong core values based on an Originalist interpretation of the Constitutional role of the Federal Government. A Liberal has strong core values based on a Progressive interpretation of the Constitutional role of the Federal Government. Moderates have no strong core values. That is what leaves them permanently in the middle, waffling from Right to Left.

Right now there is no attack from the Far Right. The push is coming from the Conservatives. Conservatives are not Far Right. Limbaugh, Palin, Coulter etc. are Conservatives. To their Right one would find Libertarians. To the Libertarians Right one would find Anarchists. There is no attempt by Anarchists to take over the Republican Party. There is something of a communion of Conservatives and Libertarians to wrest control of the Republican Party but no Far Right Anarchists.

Conservative are definately on the rise supported by Libertarians since they have very similar views on economics and taxes as well as limited government. But there are no Anarchists looking to overthrow all goverment.

It is a situation similar to the American Revolution. On the one hand you had Torries who wished to remain British Subjects. On the other you had Patriots who wanted to break with England and start their own Country as Freemen. You also had plenty of Moderates. They were then as they are now, people who pay little heed of politics and have not firm choice either way. In that case the Patriots prevailed. We will once again.

Regarding Political questions on Yahoo Answers. Agree or Disagree?

Do you agree or disagree with the statement:

Every question on Yahoo Answers' political section is a variation of a recurring theme. The posters don't care about the answers they get, but seek to stroke their own egos by finding others who follow their own scope of beliefs; while at the same time hoping to bait members of opposing beliefs into posting comments that will ultimately be down voted.

And no comments bout me stroking anything! It's a serious question/poll this.

Why am I getting a notification from Quora that my questions are "insincere" and "violate policy"?

Questions should be sincere attempts to obtain reusable informationThe primary intention of a question should be to obtain information, not to argue a point or make a statement.Questions should not be used to promote a business or service, or for solicitation.Questions should encourage answers that provide explanation and should be as open-ended as possible. Limited-choice 'poll questions' are not allowed.Questions should not narrow or segment the users who are invited to respond, and should not be directed at specific user(s).In short, an insincere question is one that doesn't attempt to obtain information, but instead exists to make a point.

How do I change Quora settings to stop getting all of these political non-questions? They are absurdly biased and are more statement than question.

I have often pondered this situation. Good as many questions and answers are, Quora seems like flypaper for those that are either advancing an agenda or opinion, hopelessly naive, or so poorly worded as to make no sense whatsoever. The other problem is questions, good OR bad, which are asked again and again and again. And again.I’m not sure what settings could trap all the bad stuff and pass only the good ones. But Quora community itself may be the way to get close, by some kind of “grading” system which allows users, themselves, to rate a question as well as report the question. For example, let us say every question starts with 20 points, but may be adjusted by a loss of points for certain “violations:”Hypothetical question which presumes unrealistic or impossible circumstances, 5 points off.Question appears only to advance a point of view or agenda, 5 points off.Question is hateful or appears intended to inflame or intimidate particular people or groups, 10 points off.Question is so poorly worded as to be incomprehensible, 2 points offQuestion is asked so often that any further useful response seems unlikely, 2 points off…No anonymous response is allowed -only identified Quorans may grade questions. The calculus also runs to create and maintain a “reputation” score for each Quoran who rates a question. To the extent that a Quoran’s scoring is in agreement with others, the reputation improves; to the extent that it does not, reputation drops. This may be expressed symbolically instead of numerically: stars, or something. Also, the identity of all Quorans who grade an answer will be revealed, together with their reputation.Obviously, the only way to ward off deliberate attempts to downgrade a question is to allow an upgrade, but ONLY when the question has been downgraded. There can never be a question which is worth MORE than 20 points -the starting value.Something like that, anyway. My 2 cents.
