Is Resident Evil Directors Cut More Rare Than The Original 1996 Release

Which video games have strong and interesting female characters?

Has everyone really neglected to mention Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite? I realize you don't play as her but she is just as essential to the gameplay and the story as the player character. And frankly she's the closest I've come to falling in love with a bunch of pixels. She's extremely intelligent and for good reason (being locked in flying Statue with nothing but books will do that to you) She's also tough and capable but not in the patronizing "you go giirrl!" manner that gets shoehorned into a story in an attempt at pandering. The amount of emotional depth and genuine  charm she has is in addition to her strength is also remarkable. For example, immediately after you free her she's so excited to be out for the first time; she's  totally consumed by the feeling, enough to forget the impending manhunt. When she across a band playing on the docks, she immediately begins to dance and invites you to join. However when she witnesses you kill for the first time (in spite of it being in self-defense) the reality of the situation strikes and she recoils from you in horror.Eventually she comes around to realize its kill or be killed and makes herself a REAL asset to you by picking locks, tossing you ammo, Heath, salts (the games version of mana) and of course using her powers to "tear" and warp dimetions. But by far the best thing about her is that along with her toughness and wit Elizebeth is nuanced with a charming femininity that makes her feel believable. Part of that femininty is her romantic heart, a polite, forthcoming aura  and a sense of compassion that contrasts/complements the stoic nature of the player character Booker Dewitt. The other is that she is totally secure in her supporting role as the brains that complement the brawn, she dose not need to compensate.Too often when  "strong" female characters are written they are either a girly Mary-sue or they just given male characteristics (super strength, fighting abilities, stoic persona, high body count, etc) and a bitchy, condescending "you go giirrl" attitude as if traditional feminity has no strengths of its own. Elizibeth is a wonderful rebuttal to that trope and I implore those who haven't already to pop in Bioshock Infinate and see what I mean.
