Is Shaving Your Sole Or Heel With A Razor Safe

Scraped too much skin off of my foot (heel)?

Yea I was using this pedi thingy that kinda grates/scrapes the dry skin of your heel. Well I scraped too much off of my left foot and now when I walk, it hurts a bit. There is still skin there but I guess I scraped it really low. What can i use to stop the pain and how long will it take for the skin to heal

Is shaving your sole or heel with a razor safe?

I think that is dangerous. They make better and safer thingies to remove rough calloused skin from the feet. I would only use those and only after soaking the feet in warm water to soften the skin so it comes right off easily (like after a shower at home)!! : /

Is it safe to swim in a pool with an open cut? Why or why not?

It is probably safe, but it is also pretty gross and rude if this is a public pool you are planning on entering and the cut is anything that required more than a band-aid to cover.  Most pools actually have posted rules prohibiting people from entering if they have unhealed wounds or rashes of any nature. From a wound care perspective, you are probably slowing the healing process by exposing the granulation tissues to chlorine, bromine, oxygen, or whatever the pool uses for a sterilization system.

How do i get rid of hard skin underneath my feet?

buy a foot scrub and get a foot file thingy...its like a grater...and then get foot lotion or get a good moisturizing lotion u have an after u soak em after uve filed em down rub em with that while the moisture is still in there...ur feet will feel super soft after that...i mean u can do the lotion trick but ur still not getting rid of the dead cells...and eventually ur feet dry up a bit in the day...yeah hehe but once u file em down and then do the trick the person above said....to lotion ur feet or put vasaline on em and then socks over while u sleep...u can do the same for ur hands and ul get the same effec with those thiner knitted gloves or special gloves u can find at most n e store ... i wear sandals and backless toe showing heels a lot and i needa do this constantly...personally i want the ped egg as the greater file thingy...it looks a lot less dangerous to my clumsy accident prone self...im sure ur less prone to accidents than me...so ul be fine with the oens at the store that are like 4-7 bucks

Why is my open cut/wound not bleeding?

Not only being in police work I am also a paramedic which is required for my position, although I do not practice as a paramedic. There are many open wounds which don't bleed for various reasons. Cuts/wounds may not bleed because they were caused by a very sharp instrument and this causes the small vessels to clamp shut on their own which stops bleeding. There are many types of open wounds including gunshots where you can see an open wound where the projectile goes in and because of the force and heat it instantly closes off the blood vessels. However, an open wound under these circumstances are most likely bleeding on the inside of the body into the abdominal or chest cavity and is a very serious wound and is life threatening.  You can "bleed out" internally with no or very little blood oozing from the entry point.A lot of amputations such as having a leg or arm severed do not bleed on the outside and are bleeding substantially on the inside and are life threatening. Just because you don't see blood oozing from a cut or wound does not mean it is not life threatening.
