Is Shyness A Phase At Age 15

Does shyness go away with age?

I'm a 22 year old guy who wasn't shy until about my second year in high school. I all of the sudden became shy when my family moved and i had to go to a different school. Since then I haven't been able to make any lasting friendships. Just casual acquaintances which I never hung out with. I'm in college now and I'm not afraid to speak to people, but I'm real shy when it comes to exposing who I really am. It's kinda hard to become friends with someone if you feel apprehensive about being yourself. I feel uncomfortable under my own skin!!!! What kinds of things can I do to help improve my situation. I don't want to be a 40 year old weirdo who lives on a cul-de-sac with his cat.

How long does the teenage ugly stage last?

Stage? You got this all wrong my friend. Your shyness, and you being intimidated by girls is not because of your teenage years. It's because you are just shy. Shyness is not something that goes away after pass teenage area, or over time. It's something you have to practice on in order to lose it.

I have a 13 year old son who is shy and lacks self confidence. What can I do?

I am a single parent and have sometimes been overprotective of my son. He has some confidence but because of his shyness he is reluctant to do things and will stay home sometimes instead of hanging out with friends simply because he doesn't want to call them or ask. It's the same with sports or other activities. If he knows one of his friends will be there, he'll do it, otherwise he won't. I think I am the cause of some of this and need some help on how to help him gain more confidence. I can't force him to do things by himself. Is this something that he will gain on his own? He will be entering high school next year and I want him to be involved with activities. What can I do? Please Help!

Why is my 12- year-old daugther so shy?

Hi and thank you for helping :) I just discovered that my daughter Kaylee is really really shy. Today I sent her to the drugstore that is only 1 block away from our house to buy some things I needed, and she got really mad and said that she hates people looking at her. that she hates to go outside and likes to be home in her computer. That it bugs her to go outside because people always stare at her from head to toe and she hates it. When I send her out to buy something she is back home in less than 2 minutes.
Kaylee really trusts me. She tells me everything. If something is happening to her, she would come to me and tell me, I know that for a fact. And if something is going on and she doesn´t tell me I can tell just by looking at her. I know my baby girl very well, but now I am really confused. I talked about it with my husband, but he didn´t know what to think either. Please help. is this normal in apreteenn girl? She wasn´t like this until now.
btw: We had her when I was 15 and my husband 17, so we don´t know what we could be doing wrong. Please don´t judge us about it and thank you :)
