Is Slavery Allowed In Christanity If So Why Did White People Enslaved Black People

What if white people were slaves and the black people were the masters?

Then everyone’s got bigger problems than slavery…like the collapse of the United States of America. Not to mention slavery wouldn’t last long. Sixty-seven percent of Americans are white. Blacks make up 13%. Sheer numbers make this unable to be maintained.Add to this that most governments of the world oppose slavery, America would end up in a world of hurt for allowing slavery.

How did black slaves keep the faith when for so long white people would oppress them?

I know so many racist Christians who cannot stand black people. And they still go to church with their white families every weekend with a smile on their face. A bunch of fake people that's what they are.

Is skavery allowed in christanity if so why did white people enslaved black people?

Slave owners had many justifications for why holding people in bondage was acceptable. From the idea that African Americans were a lesser race who needed taking care of by white patriarchs to the economic justification, slave owners were always trying to find new ways to dispute those who disagreed with their choice to hold others in captivity. Charleston slave holders were no exception in attempting to find justifications to mask their guilt. Often, religion came into play, on both the slavery and anti-slavery sides of the debate. In 1835, at the end of two long articles about religion and slavery in the Charleston Mercury, it was said that both the Old and New Testament give permission to hold others as slaves. In the Old Testament, God and the Patriarchs approve. As for the New Testament, Jesus and the Apostles show that slavery is permissible. Therefore, slavery, to those who wrote the article, was not an anti-Christian institution. It was just the opposite. Furthermore, they added, it is impious to say slavery is anti-Christian because such a conclusion contradicted God.

Such extremist beliefs were common in the slavery/antislavery debate. Slaveholders believed that slavery would liberate Africans from their savage-like ways, especially if they were infused with Christianity. As religion ran deep through slavery, white Christian slaveholders argued that slavery was a necessary evil because it would control the sinful, less humane, black race.

White people destroyed & enslaved most of the world but Spread christianity to save souls,SHould we thank them?

everything that happened in the past has contributed to the present. I won't randomly participate in "Thank a White Day", because white people today had nothing to do with the people in our past.

Also, if I were to even meet someone white from hundreds of years ago, I would still not "thank" them...They enslaved black people...they should be shunned...only they're all dead now.

PS: white people forced their culture on everyone else...it's called "assimilation"

FURTHERMORE: why don't you think slave owners wanted their slaves to read the Bible? because they would then know that eslaving WAS WRONG. Slave owners weren't stupid, just very manipulative.

Why do blacks still whine about slavery that happened 300 years ago...when slavery is now happening in Asia?

Why isn't their more awareness about the slavery that exists TODAY in Third World Asian countries?! The leftist media and history books only talk about "the poor blacks"?!

The only slavery the white and black left is interested in is the slavery that took place in America. The only people the white left is interested in collectively punishing for this slavery, are all white people whether it happened today or it happened 300 or 165 years ago. Believe me, if white people were enslaving black people in countries like Sudan or were enslaving people anywhere in Asia, there would be an international outcry over it all. The left says nothing because it's mostly Asians who are enslaving their own people for sex and forced labor. In Europe, it's mostly whites who are selling young white girls mostly from Eastern Europe and Russia to sex traffickers. In Sudan, it's mostly Arab Muslims enslaving black people.

Weren't white people slaves in Bible days?

They have been slaves up until slavery was abolished and the White nations became strong enough to destroy any nation that invaded their shores. The whole slavery narrative has been hijacked by the left and the African American experience as a way to alter history to create their own future.

Why do black Christians worship a white Jesus even if they know the history religion played in slavery and colonization?

It’s not about colour and Jesus was not white. He looked like an Arab. The Christian message is a spiritual thing, you rise above such things, whatever your station in life.Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. Obey them not only to win their favour when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free. And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favouritism with him. Eph 6

How did white people rationalize with slavery?

Remember...
Not all american whites can trace their ancestry to slave-owners or traffickers. Many whites came to this country long after slavery ended. For example many Irish, Italians, Eastern Europeans, and most Jews came to the country in the late 1800s and early 1900s. In addition, these groups (and others) were discriminated against when they arrived, so they may sympathize. American Jews in the Reform Jewish movement, for example, were closely allied to Dr. MLK in the 1950s.

As for the whites whose ancestors traded in African slaves generations ago, they are several generations removed from slavery. Few of us would punish ourselves for the actions of our great-great-great grandparents.

The most difficult aspect of slavery for many modern White folks is how to create a just and equitable society today without giving up many of the privlidges that come with being white in 2006. Of course, this cannot be done - but modern whites seem intent of having their cake and eating it too. For example, wanting great public schools for all kids and even better public schools for their own kids. Or wanting harsh drug laws for all kids but expect a slap on the risk when their white daughter is caught drinking underage or buying pot from her suburban dealer.
