Is Diet Snapple Bad for You?
Hi, Diet snapple is a highly acidic beverage in the same category as soda, energy drinks and sport drinks and even bottled water. Cancer and disease thrive in an acidic environment (Dr. Otto Warburg). If you drink alkaline water your body can maintain the proper balance an heal itself. You can find more information on my websites www.ItsJustDifferent.com and .info Please beware of knock off ionizer machines when researching the internet.
Is diet snapple bad for your health or a diet plan?
The hype about artificial sweeteners is just that -- hype. Some lab rats got cancer when fed aspartame and ONLY aspartame, in concentrations equivalent to drinking between 8 and 50 cans of diet soda every day. Additionally, while one would expect the rates of cancer to have increased in populations that grew up drinking diet drinks vs. in older folks who were alive for many years before artificial sweeteners became popular, this is not the case. It's just scare tactics and chain-email blather. Diet soda will not give you cancer. Diet Snapple will not give you cancer. Artificially-sweetened Diet Snapple tea will not sabotage your diet, make you gain weight, or any other crap you might hear. However, especially if you're dieting, you should be drinking water as well, since that tea is made with black tea, which contains caffiene and can dehydrate you. Caffiene isn't great for diets, so drink enough water to keep yourself hydrated.
Is Snapple tea healthy?
Only to the Snapple company’s profits. It’s basically a bottle of healthy water, with a smidgen of also healthy tea, which is then polluted by stuff that is bad for you.I used to buy a bottle about once every three months as the bottle are a handy way of carrying my own home made sugar free iced tea, until the lid rusts and I replaced it. But I’ve since been given a metal water bottle that alleviated my need to Snapple at all.
Why is diet Snapple bad for your organism?
Diet Snapple, like many sugar free products, contains aspartame, an artificial sweetener that is being phased out in Europe due to potential health concerns but is still popular in the US. The jury is still out concerning the exact extent of the possible dangers of aspartame and more research is necessary to determine the extent of the long term effects of the sweetener but it has been implicated as a possible carcinogen as well as a possible risk factor for neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease due to the mechanism by which the cell breaks it down. Neurons appear to be especially susceptible to the potential negative effects of aspartame due to the demands of their highly specific glucose metabolism, which is one of the proposed mechanisms of causality between aspartame and age related neurological disorders. While many such causal mechanisms have been proposed, research up to this point has only been able to establish a correlational relationship between aspartame and its potential side effects. That is, while it has been firmly established that people who consume large quantities of aspartame are more likely to develop cancer and age related neurological diseases, it has not yet been firmly shown that aspartame is actually causing these disorders. It is always harder to establish causality than correlation and, as time goes by and more research is done, more light will likely be shed on the causal mechanisms behind the various observed aspartame side effects.
Is Snapple good for you?
I think you may have answered your own question when you said, it's ..."the equivalent of drinking sugar water."So is it good for you? If you have trouble getting enough sugar in your diet, maybe. But most people don't have that trouble. And a big hit of sugar without any additional nutrients is probably not the best way to get more sugar in your diet.If you enjoy it and you don't have a weight problem, it's probably not bad for you either. If you wanted to make a better choice for a refreshing cold drink, you might try substituting a home made herbal tea that includes raspberry fruit in the blend. Or adding some crushed frozen raspberries to plain soda water.I've assumed it's the raspberry flavour you enjoy.Disclaimer, I don't like sweet drinks. I only drink unsweetened tea. Many herbal teas are too sweet for my taste even without added sugar or honey. I couldn't gag down a Snapple or Nestea or other canned tea.I like pomegranate and cranberry herbal tea from T2 and I think Twinings has something similar both are available in bags or loose leaf tea.Herbal teas blends, even when sold in bags or loose tea can have sugar or other sweetener added. So if you're trying to avoid added sugar read the labels. Most you will find get their sweetness from fruit pieces or hibiscus flowers. Another refreshing summer tea is lemon and ginger (which is great in the winter too) iced or made triple strength then diluted with soda water.
I drink about 5 bottles of diet snapple a day? Is that bad for me?
