Is Soy Milk Supposed To Be So Diluted

How much does soy milk cost?

Anywhere from $1.49 to $2.00 for half a gallon. Go to an Asian store.

My Siamese cat is 5 yrs. old. Can I give him diluted canned milk. Just a little?

canned milk as in evaporated milk, then yes dilute it just a little, regular milk in small amounts is okay, if Thomas is used to getting canned food then please continue to give it to him, even if it is a couple times a week, cats need the canned food to help divert any bladder or kidney problems that can occur in the later years, that is why you hear so many people with older cats saying their cat is peeing every were, well it because they have urinary track infections or bladder and kidney problems, and sorry back to your question, yes it is okay to give him a small amount of milk, start him off slow for today, and make sure his stools dont get loose, if all is good then he can have a bit more, good luck and congratulations on the new guy

Why does diluted milk taste so bad?

The creamy taste in milk is essentially a bunch of little fat molecules. When you dilute those fat molecules you get a strange mix of a liquid that has the taste of milk but none of the texture. Diluted concentrations of anything usually means the percent ratio of water to the solute has gone up. So, assuming you don’t find those weird zero calorie flavored water drinks yummy, you wouldn’t find diluted milk good either. That’s why 2% milk fat containing milk doesn’t taste good as whole milk (which by the way is not entirely composed of milk fat unless you get it straight from the cow. Even then, some organic methods do not homogenize, so you are essentially left with a mix of clumped butter and diluted milk, which you have to shake together to get the original cow juice). Fat free milk is like colored water in my opinion, since it somehow manages to get rid of the essence of milk itself and still call itself that.

Is it okay to give a kitten soy milk?

Do not give a kitten soy milk (or cow’s milk unless used in one of the emergency formula recipes below). The milk from their mothers is all the milk kittens need; once they’re weaned they do fine on kitten food.If you are caring for a very young kitten with no momcat around, follow these instructions from Los Angeles Kitten and Cat Adoptions, aka Krazy for Kats, Inc.:If You Find Baby KittensKMR (Kitten Milk Replacer) and Just Born are the best formulas to feed a young kitten.Do not give a kitten cow's milk, soy or rice milk! If you cannot obtain KMR or Just Born immediately, use the following emergency recipe for up to 24 hours only. In an emergency, call a veterinarian or check an animal shelter for kitten formulas.EMERGENCY KITTEN FORMULA (c/o "Kitten Rescue") www.kittenrescue.orgThe pet store is closed, and you have hungry kittens that need formula! Never fear! Test temperature before feeding (the combination of boiling water and chilled formula should be just about right).

Can you feed baby kittens soy milk as a replacement for their mothers milk?

MOTHER'S MILK IS BEST! Do not intervene if there is no reason to. Kittens are incredibly delicate and death is not unusual. I know it's sad, but believe me, the best thing for the kittens, is their mother's milk. If she is nursing, let her nurse. The only milk you can feed the kittens is Kitten Milk Replacement from a pet store and you have to use a nursing bottle. It is A LOT of work to hand raise kittens and the last thing you want to do is for mama's milk to dry up. Please let her nurse. It's not the milk that's harming them. That's what's helping them. There are 1000s of antibodies in her collostrum that she is passing to her babies to build up their immune systems. Don't interfere. Let their mother take care of them. Nature makes sure that the strongest survive and the weakest go quickly and painlessly. Best of luck.

Can kittens drink lactose free milk?

As others have mentioned, there are various milk substitutes on the market that can be given your cats as a special treat. Not all cats will like milk or the substitute; some adore it.At my house, the cats who like milk, yogurt, sour cream, cheese, etc., get a little taste of it when they ask (i.e., trying to stick their noses into the cheese sandwich I have, or too closely inspecting my fruit yogurt). Usually, the quantity is a lot less than an eighth of a teaspoon, and generally, that satisfies their curiosity. A really small amount doesn’t seem to set anyone on the path of suffering, and it allows me to learn over time which cats can tolerate a bit more and which ones don’t care for the stuff at all. Like human beings, some cats are direly lactose-intolerant, and a few others can handle a whole level teaspoon of plain yogurt. They can’t tell you if they are developing gas or bloating, but you clean the litter boxes, so you can monitor the results.Straight to the gods’ ears: while I was typing this, my talkative, tiny orange girl moved in on my dish of oatmeal. She has no interest in the walnuts, apricots, or sugar (and certainly none in the oats), so when I finished, I poured a few drops of milk into the dish. There are delicate kitty tongue imprints at the bottom of the bowl. She lapped up all she wanted, and left about a sixth of a dram… and walked away content. With cats, so much is about the experience.

Is soy milk a complete protein for us?

Soy is a good source of protein and amino acids that humans require. However, the risks of consuming large quantities of Soy itself likely outweigh any benefits. Soy is in everything and the more we consume of any single food crop the more it modifies us. I remember watching a story on TV about how the very bones and teeth of one ancient people’s had changed because so much of their diet consisted of a single grain. So I realize I am off on a tangent but when you look at solely how much of the crop is now GMO and why they made it GMO was to spray chemicals on or around it you have to ask if it is safe to consume any more than is already hidden in all of our food. The phytoestrogens component is likely overblown to a certain extent as actual non-Monsanto funded medical research shows some causal link to health benefits to premenopausal women but did not show a significant impact on male reproduction. However, a caution, these studies are done over a short period of time and with specific dosing levels of phytoestrogens. Adding too much Soy to your diet may very well have impacts on your body chemistry due to phytoestrogens. So while Soy may be a great source of protein and amino acids offering most of what a human requires, over consumption could actually make it bad for your health.

Why are some baby milks and baby milk powders such as Nido so high in carbohydrates, proteins and fats?

Baby formula is richer than regular cow's milk because it has to resemble human breast milk as closely as possible. Babies are not calves and need a different kind of food. Before good artificial baby formula was developed, the only alternative way to feed a newborn besides its mother's milk was a wet nurse (a woman hired to suckle your infant) or another nursing woman, and attempts to use cow's or goat's milk mixed with other ingredients did not usually end well for the baby.Newborn babies do a lot of growing, and need lots of nutrients to do so. Fats support brain and nerve development, proteins build muscle, and carbohydrates provide energy for the important work of pooping, crying, and spitting that formula back up. (I'm sure they do other things as well, but those are examples I can list off the top of my head.) That's why their formula slightly resembles bodybuilders' "mass-building" supplements--both are building bodies, but babies have a lot further to go from their original starting point at birth. Could an adult use a diluted version of baby formula powder to save on milk? I suppose it would be possible, though usually such powder is far more expensive than regular powdered milk. It would also be possible for an adult to use human breast milk straight from the source, but for some reason most cultures don't go for that. It would be quite rich, as you point out, and it would taste different from regular milk, but it would certainly not harm you.

Why is soy milk much more expensive than cow milk?

Because they make it commercially in a factory, and factories are expensive to build and maintain.

The process is labor-intensive. So of course you can make it at home, and you can make a higher quality product. Commercial soy milk is diluted. At home you can make it more milky.

But whether you can save money making at home would depend on how long it took you and how much you consider your time to be worth. If you make it twice a week and spend an hour each time, and your time is worth $10 an hour, you are spending $20 a week making whatever quantity of soymilk you make. If you end up with half a gallon, that's pretty expensive. ∠°)
