Rise in blood sugar and cholesterol... healing crisis?

my mom called me this morning to tell me about a problem she is having. recently she has been on a really great detox diet and been eating all whole grains, veggies and lots of fruit. (which is a lot different that what is normally consumed) and she also quit smoking. buuutttt.... she went to the doctor and her bloodwork was terrible. high blood sugar and high cholesteral. she has had problems with all this before and has been on meds for it. i though it might be a healing crisis??? maybe a food trigger? i dont know. any ideas?

Does green tea cause this?

I'm not sure if drinking green tea would cause this, but it sounds like the painful area you are describing is the location of your kidney. It may very well be that your kidneys are working overtime due to the diuretic affects of the tea. Maybe it would be a good idea to cut back on drinking so much of it.

If the pain continues, it may be a sign of kidney stones and something that would need to be check out.

Weight Loss Strategies?

Okay, I am 21, 5'5'' and I currently weigh 320 pounds. :(

I know that I need to lose weight, and that fact that I am so young is really no excuse. When I graduated I weighed 220 pounds(still overweight), so I have gained 100 pounds in four years. I have always struggled with my weight but now I feel like everyone is watching me and has evil thoughts of me.

I know that I can lose weight because I have done it before(when I was in high school and more active). But now that I am in college, I find it harder because I have to work and go to school, and I never eat around the same time. Sometimes I just eat one time a day. I wont even eat breakfast, I just go to work at 830 am and then go to school at 4pm and wont eat until I get out of school at 815 pm. How can that even be healthy? I know that is not.

I no idea how to really fit "eating right" and exercising into my schedule. Next semester I am taking later classes (530pm) so that I can exercise at my college's gym before I go to class. And the days I do not go to school I will walk. As far as eating right, my only suggestions are preparing the foods I will eat the day before so that way I can just grab and go where ever I need to go(school, work etc).

I know that just cutting out some foods alone will do be some good. But I think my biggest down fall is I beat myself up AND I know that I have SO MUCH weight to lose and I become discouraged because I think of it as so much that I give up before I even start, ya know. I need to think of weight loss as little by little not...having to lose 175 pounds over night. Because it will not happen overnight, if I want to lose weight and KEEP IT OFF, it HAS TO BE GRADUAL. :)

Anyway, I know I am at high risk for many health diseases. Can anyone give me suggestions or experience from your weight loss strategies? Exercising and eating right? Especially if you have a busy schedule or are in school. Thanks in advice, and please no meanies.
