Is Teddy Bridgewater Overrated

Is teddy bridgewater overrated?

He went in for Matt cassel which face it cassel sucks hasn't been good since his almost playoff run with the patriots. So teddy comes in cant score a touchdown against the saints who has arguably been the worst defense. He has Patterson and as a owner I have been less then impressed with pattersons numbers due to cassel completely sucking. But can we expect teddy to do something or is he overrated?

Do you consider Teddy Bridgewater an elite quarterback?

I don't consider Bridgewater an elite quarterback. Teddy is a very talented QB whose production has been very good, but sometimes overrated by his supporters.The Vikings are built with defense and a good run game. Teddy Bridgewater is rarely ever the reason the Vikings are winning games. You could rotate him out for, say, Sam Bradford and the team doesn't look that much worse. Teddy is a cog in the Vikings machine, while guys like Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers are the tires of the car, so to speak. You need them to get where you want to go.I think Teddy could become an elite QB one day. But his offense just doesn't give him the opportunity to become one now. That might change when he comes back, because Adrian Peterson will likely be retired or have his production significantly reduced. The team will rely more on Bridgewater and we will see how he responds.All this being said, I don't think he's in serious trouble to lose his job to Bradford. Bridgewater is younger, has better upside, is cheaper as of now, and in my opinion is just flat out better than Sam Bradford.But the fact that some people think Bradford may end up stealing Teddy’s job is reason enough for Teddy to be labeled a non-elite QB.

Who are your top five most overrated NFL quarterbacks and why?

How can you guys miss the obvious:1.) Terry Bradshaw. I could have QB’s those teams to 4 Superbowl's. Most overrated QB of all time…hands down.2.) Eli Manning. Most inconsistent QB with a SB ring.3.) Bob Greise. 172 Int in 161 games with a lifetime 77 QB rating. Surrounded by a crazy good team.4.) Warren Moon. Even he admitted in his HOF speech that he was a mediocre NFL QB. Warren had only one more win than losses in his total career, a completion percentage of 58.4, and an overall QB rating of 80.9. His playoff numbers were horrific but at least Warren isn’t afraid to let people know that he is great but also flawed.5.) Joe Namath. Ok, so he led the underdog New York Jets to a Super Bowl victory upset against the Baltimore Colts in 1969, but in all honestly the defense won that game for the Jets. The score was 16-7 and Namath didn’t have a single passing touchdown. With a retired Jets number and Hall of Fame credit we think Joe may have won the NFL popularity contest. He has a career win-loss record of 62-63, led the league in interceptions on four occasions, and completed just 50.1% of his passes. Despite having just a 65.5 QB rating and throwing 220 interceptions to his 173 touchdowns.Could have easily made the team: Brett Favre (Hurt his team as much as he helped it, but was exciting to watch and was crazy durable);

Is this year's QB draft class really as good as advertised?

I know that the underclassmen haven't even declared yet but just giving a general look at the possible class I think the media has overhyped these guys again. I've been watching some of these guys lately on film and they have a lot of flaws. After the media proclaimed Barkley to be a 1st round pick, I think people should be cautious before listening to them.

Is Marcus Mariota a good quarterback in the NFL?

Three of the hardest things for any QB. Redzone scoring, Converting 3rd downs and winning.Here are his Redzone stats: a 116.3 passer rating, with 30 touchdown passes, no interceptions, a completion percentage of 65.4 and has taken just two sacks. Only ONE other QB has been better in the Redzone since Mariota has been in the league. So in the toughest situation in the game for QB he is second best.3rd downs: passer rating of 105.9 on third down in 2016, completing 87-of-142 passes for 1,218 yards with 11 touchdowns and three interceptions. It’s the sixth-best third down rating in the NFL Not to Shabby.Winning: 3–9 as a rookie but 8–7 as a second year player. He was going to light it up in the playoffs as he was red hot late last year but then was seriously injured in week 16.When the game is on the line he has shown he can be calm and patient and win games.In all the hardest parts of the game for QB’s he has excelled.Yes he is a good QB.

Do any Steeler fans still think it would have been a good idea to trade or release Roethlisberger?

I never thought Ben should have been traded. I was ALL for the suspension though.  The Rooneys are not stupid. They would not trade their franchise quarterback over what amounted to baseless allegations.  Now, had Ben been arrested or convicted, the story would most likely have been different.  Steeler fans are varied. Some may still hate him. Most do not.  Any Steeler fan who would want him traded, especially now, needs to leave Steeler Nation immediately.

Forget being the best QB in the country, is Sam Darnold even the best quarterback in Los Angeles?

Sam Darnold may have better odds to win the Heisman and may have implications of being a higher NFL draft pick, but Josh Rosen does have better stats at this point of the season. You have to take strength of schedule, team play style, etc. into account, and stats are not a direct correlation to skill and NFL readiness, but it is interesting that Rosen is ahead in every passing category thus far.Sam Darnold vs. Josh Rosen Full Stats

Who are the best QB options in the 2014 NFL Draft?

If you are a new follower of the NFL Draft, check out:HomeMel Kiper, Ourlad's, Mayock annd Gil Brandt at NFL Network, Nolan Nawrocki at PFW, Football Outsiders, Pro Football Talk, Pro Football Focus and a few others are worth checking out, too.The all-time best was the late, great Joel Buschbaum, who passed about 10 years ago -- his NFL Draft guides were hands-down the best ever, ridiculously accurate, and fun reads.  He was to NFL Draft guides what Steve Sabol was to NFL films --  just a legend.To your query...There's a long way to go yet.And a lot of tose expressing "expert opinions" haven't broken down play-by-pay game tape yet, or watched all-22 film yet.... so it's a lot of hype right now.But assuming underclassmen projected to enter the draft actually do so, there are five names to watch: Bridgewater, Mariota, Boyd, Manziel and Hundley.Probably in that order -- for now.It's possible five quarterbacks could go among the top 11 picks, which hasn't happened since 1999.But worth noting: At this time last year, everyone was "on" Geno Smith, Matt Barkley, Tyler Wilson, Ryan Nassib, etc.And the first QB taken was EJ Manuel.Lots can change between now and draft day. The NFL Combine, and the postseason all-star games (especially the Senior Bowl) will have tons too say about who ultimately goes where in the NFL Draft.As I write this on 10.28.13, Bridgewater and DE Jadaveon Clowney are regarded as chalk 1-2 picks in the draft TODAY... but a lot can change in six months.  Stay tuned.One other stacked position this year: Offensive Tackles.  At least five will be off the board by pick 20 -- it' a great year for high-end OT talent.
