Is The Canon Rebal T3i Good For Video

Would Canon EOS 600D (T3i) be good for video?

If all you care about is video quality, then the T3i is DEFINITELY for you. Yes it is true that it won't record continuously for longer than 15 minutes, but you won't need that anyways. It is because of this limitation that the DSRL excels when compared to a camcorder. The sensor is HUGE compared to a camcorder, which is why is can overheat after 15 minutes and this is also why the video quality is AMAZING.

Don't even consider a camcorder if you indent to shoot shot films and take great photos in the meantime. However, if you are not planning to shoot short films and such with is then you should consider a camcorder, but the T3i is good choice no matter what yo intend to do.

I bought a Canon Vixia model camcorder last year and I regret not getting the T2i or T3i instead. However, I plan to get the T3i very soon.

How do I record video on my Canon EOS Rebel T3i?

Move the selector knob all the way clockwise until you get the camera-on-a-tripod icon, then press the button immediately next to the viewfinder - the one with the red dot next to it.

Make sure you've got a class 10 SD card that's formatted and preferably empty

Edit

OK, when you put it to Video mode does the mirror raise... can you hear a clunk inside the camera.

Can you see the live view on the LCD display?

When you press the record button do you get a red dot on the top right corner of the live view and does the camera activity light come on (bottom right corner)?

If it does all that then it should be recording.

How do you know it's only taking pictures? What do you see when you go to review the images?

Canon Rebel T3i won't record video?

My Canon Rebel T3i stops recording after two seconds with the message, "Movie recording stopped automatically." My memory cards are a Sandisk 16gb Class 6 and a Transcend 64gb Class 10, but neither will work. The manual says a Class 6 or faster should suffice, but it's not working. Can someone please tell me how to fix this...?

Can the t3i Canon camera make good quality videos for YouTube?

I'll do a quick summary of what people have said and add a bit more. The short answer is yes. The Canon T3i will have more than enough quality to make high quality videos. In fact, I dare say T2i is good enough given the fact that they both share the same image sensor. The long answer is still yes, but with caveats. Surely anything beyond the T2i will have near production image quality (Think about The Avengers. Some of the shots were made with a 5D mk ii, a 2008 DSLR), but the key to good looking videos is good lighting. With enough (and well positioned) light, T2i all the way up to the newest T6i/T6s, then 70D, 5D mk iii and the flagship 1DX will produce near-identical quality. The reason to go for a higher end model than the T3i for video comes down to a few things: Uncompressed HDMI output, headphone jack to monitor the audio, low light video quality and potentially a larger image sensor. If you aren't sure what these mean, or you do and know that they don't matter to you, then the T3i would be a safe purchase.I'm going to jump to conclusions and say that your best bet would be buying a T3i and some studio lights to create a well-lit environment, then do separate audio recording with a computer. Let the camera do what it does best, making images, and let a good microphone do what it does best, capturing audio.

How many minutes of 1080p video on a Canon t3i can a 32gb SDHC card hold?

Either consult your manual, or stick the card into your camera and find out.

Ten to one, the sensor will overheat long before the video's maximum time is reached. Stills cameras don't do that well on video, even Sony - which will run rings around Canon.

Which camera should I get for filming videos? the Canon Rebel T5i or T6i?

The main problem with DSLR frames is that they aren't really created for shooting videos. Focusing while panning isn't very easy and the sound quality you can expect from the built-in microphone may leave a lot to be desired - camera bodies are designed to let you hold them as steady as possible. But there are a number of great products out there to help you utilize your DSLR's video capabilities to their fullest. There are special kits for videographers - this one (which is based on Canon APS-C EOS 80D body with 18-135mm zoom lens) is a great example:4 More Ways to Improve your DSLR Videos - Canon EOS 80D DSLR Video Creator Kit with 18-135mm LensThe kit is for anyone considering a new camera with both photography and videography in mind. It includes a zoom lens for photos and cinema, a power zoom adapter, and a powerful video microphone, with all the peripherals.

Live video recording on PC with Canon Rebel T3i??

I have recently ordered the said camera, just waiting for it to arrive.
I like to do a lot of mental planning, and one of the things that came to mind was the question mentioned above.
Can I record a video with computer connected with the software provided and save it onto the hard drive directly?
Also, would there be a time limit on how much I can record in a single button press if I use the camera connected to the computer?
I've searched up a bit and pretty much everyone said its a matter of the camera being overheated and shutting itself down. Right now, its pretty chilly where I live, so I'm guessing it won't overheat as quickly?
I want to record maybe like 1 or 2hrs.
I could probably pause for a few minutes between certain events.
I'll have a good sized memory card
I think I had other questions, but this is what I can think of right now.

I'm new to DSLRs, but definitely experience in technological areas, and I'm a quick learner.

Why does the video of a Canon 600D (t3i) have so much less quality than an image of the same settings?

Its really simple. When you shoot video (1080p), the resolution is 1920x1080. Compare that to image setting ‘Large’ which has a resolution of 5184 x 3456.To get better footage, download Magic Lantern and you can shoot video in RAW. It will capture each frame in RAW. A big limitation is that you can only capture few seconds before your SD card runs out.Unfortunate that the rebel series does not have CF card option.

Is the Canon EOS rebel T3i a good camera? Is $295 a reasonable price for this camera?

I have a Canon Rebel t3i which I purchased on-line from the B&H Superstore in New York probably six years ago. It would do all that I wanted it to do as an Amateur Hobby photographer. However eventually I did upgrade to a Canon 70-D which is also getting a bit of Age on it now.Honestly I would look for something a bit “Younger” like maybe a Canon Rebel t5i or t6i or whatever the latest model is called and I would check out the prices at the “Superstore” as they are great guys to deal with and I live in Australia. I would be very cautious about buying something like that from E-Bay as there are things out there that are Canon “Lookalike’s” which are just a Cheap Chinese Copy with a Canon Decal and are referred to as being sold on the “Grey Market”.Having said that there is nothing wrong with a Genuine Canon Rebel t3i except it is getting a bit old but on the other hand the upgrades that have been done since that model was Brand New may be things that relate to “Video” as well as Wireless connectivity which means that you can upload images to Social Media through your Cell Phone without having to first upload them to a Computer. There may well be no real upgrades which will be of any benefit to you but check it out anyway. It is a simple matter to go on-line and check out the entry level Camera’s and get a Comparison happening and that will soon tell you. Does the Camera come with any lenses or a CD card or a Battery and Charger and then you may not get a Manual with it either. Although these things are all readily available and No-Problem to source through the Superstore they can add to both the cost and the inconvenience. Hope this was helpful. Enjoy your Hobby.
