Is The Car In Drivable Condition

Is the car in drivable condition?

The back window is shattered and the taillight has popped out, is this car still driveable? Infinity insurance said that because the car still drives, we can't be issued a rental. Should we get a lawyer involved in this case? I just have a bad feeling that the car insurance will screw us over.

Can I still drive my car even though the air conditioning hose is broken?

Last week my air stopped working in my car and ever since then it's been working on and off. Today the car was jittery while driving it and it stArted leaking clear fluid. A month ago I had it fixed because it was jittery again and was leaking a reddish brown fluid. I need to drive it tomorrow so I can get some errands done though and I was wondering is it still safe to drive it even though the air conditioning hose is broken An is this new Problem related to the air not working or is it a separate issue.

Is my car drivable in this condition?

Okay so I'm a 18 yr old girl who just bought my first car.. Its a 2004 pt cruiser.. So I know nothing about cars... But I really need to use my car tonight and I don't think theirs enough time to get it fixed professionally.. The silver cap thing that goes on all of my tires, one of them fell off and a bolt is also missing... Am I still able to drive on it tonight and get it fixed tomorrow ?

Is it safe to drive my car with the traction control system turned off?

Traction Control systems are intended to provide better driving control in unusual conditions like ice, snow, water, and rocky environments. As others have said, it causes a wheel that is slipping to be braked so that the motive force moves to the other wheel. Note that this only affects the driven wheels so on a RWD or FWD only those wheels are involved.Generally, whenever the TCS detects a wheel spinning then you will feel the system working. This is especially true on FWD vehicles since the driving wheels are also the steering wheels. So is it dangerous to turn off the TCS? Generally no, since up to a few years ago, there was no such system available on cars. Before that there were other systems to help with that. One is a limited-slip differential.I find it very useful when driving in snow and ice. You will also notice it working when driving through puddles if you are accelerating at the same time. The best way to drive in conditions of snow and ice is to travel slowly and never stop. Once you are stopped, that is when it can be difficult or impossible to get started again. There are a few hills near my house in Pennsylvania. And in winter, sometimes conditions bet very icy and getting up one of those hills is the only way I can get home. My little car is FWD and when trying to get home at those times can be challenging. Upon arriving at the base of one such hill, I will see a number cars and trucks scattered up the hill, and often even off the road. Many of these are AWD SUVs and pickup trucks whose drivers assume that they can sail up that hill. However, if I can see a clear path I will start up, driving slowly but consistently. They key is to not go fast, and not stop. If you see a bare patch, make sure that your driving wheel(s) hit it, but still don’t speed up. Slow and easy will work almost every time unless the entire road is a sheet of ice. In which case it won’t matter what vehicle you have, you are not going up that hill.I never turn off the TCS and find that there is no indication that it is doing anything until I find that the steering wheel gets very light, and I feel it shake and the TCS light flickers on. First response in a case like that is to not try and accelerate, keep a constant speed, and make sure you maintain directional control until the conditions have passed.

Looking for used car ..............what does "salvage title" mean?

Salvage title means the car was declared TOTAL LOSS by the insurance company, then rebuilt back to drivable condition. As it was declared total loss once, it cannot get a regular title, so a new type of title was created for it known as the salvage title.

Salvage titles can be VERY VERY risky, as you don't know how damaged was the original accident, or the quality of the rebuild. There was one case where a kid was killed in this salvage title pickup truck he bought. Turns out, his airbag was stuffed with PAPER and did not deploy.

Mileage is actually NOT an issue. The actual condition of the car is the issue. I actually bought a Volvo with 175000 miles on it. Yes, one hundred and seventy-five THOUSAND miles. I'm now on 197500 and still going strong. And $4000 was what I paid for the Volvo. It's a great car.

What does it really mean, about the condition and roadworthiness of a car (vehicle), when a damaged car (vehicle) is deemed "totaled" by an insurance company?

In the US, a car declared “totaled” is thought, by many people (even those Congress writing the laws governing “totaled” vehicles), that “totaled” instantly means that the vehicle is damaged to an unsafe, unroadworthy condition, and, that letting it be put back on the roads is always dangerous. Not true. Not.“Totaled” has nothing to do with safety. It’s a financial term meaning “costing too much to repair and return to prior condition to warrant the expenditure”.  An example is: a hail storm may “total” your vehicle. Even if the windows are broken, you can have them replaced, and you have a perfectly safe - though dinged - vehicle.

Will a car still drive after the air bag has deployed?

Yes, this has happened with a cousin of mine. He was rear ended on the highway in his Hyundai Verna which got pushed ahead and crashed into a car ahead of him. The front airbags deployed, but thankfully no one was hurt and he was close to the destination so he drove a few kilometres to the destination. Its not recommended to drive a car which has been in an accident.

Is the road condition from Delhi to Shimla safe to travel?

No absolutely not if you are driving yourself. I alongwith my wife and son did a one day driving trip to Shimla ( all three of us just love driving and it was not the first time we did it) just 1month back on 9th of July. From Parwano to Solan the road is being widened and is in pretty bad shape. If you are sitting in a Volvo maybe it would not affect you much besides taking a bit longer to reach there, but if you are driving yourself, it is not enjoyable at all and at certain stretches a bit risky. As it is raining right now it gets even more troublesome because there is a lot of dirt on the roads and it becomes slippery.

1969 camaro/1973 nova project car for sale?

My husband and I have been talking about a future with children and I know he has always talked about wanting a project car for our children to have when they are older. When the time does come to have children- I want to tell him in a very awesome way. He has mentioned to me that he wants to restore a 1973 Chevy Nova several times, but I know he has always had an interest in the 69 camaro- just finding one with a motor and transmission would be so hard. If anyone has or knows where I can come across one of these vehicles please let me know! I have searched google, classic cars, cars online, etc...im just finding them really really rusted or already restored.

Why do automatic cars give less mileage?

This is rarely true any more!Manual transmissions used to have better gas milage for three reasons:The mechanical linkage was tighter and did’t lose as much power to heat and other places that didn’t translate directly to turning the wheels. This is largely no longer true. Today there are amazing automatic transmissions including double clutch “automatic manual” transmissionsChanging gears in a manual was direct and faster than with an automatic. This is almost universally not true today. The early 2000s M3 brought racing double clutches to mainstream cars with a .008s gear change time. Can you throw a clutch that fast? Me either. With a manual transmission you can coast in neutral and shift based on the future road condition. This is the only condition that still holds for better mpg for a manual transmission. If you are in a lot of situations where you can coast to a red light or downhill on a highway, you’ll get better milage during those times.
