Is Australia a more dangerous country than Syria because it has kangaroos which can break a person ribs with just one kick?

Definitely. But not for the reason you’d think. The real reason Australia is more dangerous than Syria is these:Drop Bears.Drop bears will maul anyone to pieces if they don’t have a) an Australian accent, b) Vegemite behind their ears or c) fairy bread on their hat. Sure, kangaroos, emus (Emu War - Wikipedia) and snakes are pretty brutal too but if you leave them alone they’ll leave you alone. Drop bears hide in trees, telephone poles and street lights and don’t care who they kill. They tend to attack alone but there have been 18 sightings of over 7 bears in the same tree in the last 10 years.Point is, Australia is definitely more dangerous than Syria. Ask any Aussie.(Obvious sarcasm. Syria is literally a war zone. Australian fauna only harm people if they are bothered.Unless they’re drop bears. Those things will f**k you up.)Edit: Removed the “thanks for x upvotes” because I’m not that guy.

Are emus endangered?

Emus? Nope. Well, two species of emu are extinct.(Dromaius baudinianus and Dromaius minor ), but the Common emu is still least concern. These huge birds even “defeated” the Australian army(See Emu War - Wikipedia) which was supposed to get rid of them. Well, around 80 years later, they are still around and thriving.IUCN states that the population is very large, too large to be even considered for “Vulnerable” status.

What species of birds are most dangerous to humans? Why?

Very few birds present a real threat to human safety through direct attack. There are a few cases of freak accidents and unusual situations in which birds have killed humans, but these events are vanishingly rare. The biggest danger any birds pose to human health and safety is due to disease and crop destruction. Immediate threat by significant crop destruction of rice (and other grains) as well as a handful of fruit crops is minor in today's "big" agricultural settings, but can wipe out an individual farm or harm a small village.Disease is a threat as some pathogens can live in the manure and the soils in places where large numbers of birds may roost during migrations. Pigeons, starlings, blackbirds (mixed species), fowl (chickens & turkey), as well as some waterfowl (ducks, geese, & swans) can spread the pathogen for histoplasmosis, for example.

Which bird has the ability to kill a human?

As many others who have answered this question have already said, the birds responsible for the most human deaths are the large flightless birds, namely ostriches and cassowaries. Ostriches kill multiple people every year, and in New Guinea the cassowary is regarded as a very dangerous animal by natives, although there is only one confirmed record of a person being killed by a cassowary. Another bird that has killed humans is the mute swan, which is highly territorial and has been known to beat intruders--including humans--to death with its wings and beak if they threaten its nest. The only predatory bird known to kill humans is the African crowned eagle, which naturally preys on monkeys and other large mammals and may very rarely attack a human child.

How are polybags harmful to animals and humans?

One very sad and critical case of harmful plastic bags is with Leatherback sea turtles that eat jellyfish. They mistake floating plastic bags for jellyfish and eat them, leading to death.

Are pet emus raised by humans and handled regularly more or less dangerous than a pet horse?

I have two pets emus. You can google Osborne Emu if you like. I hatched him and reared Mallory Mu from about 2 weeks old. I'm also a trained equine dental technician so you might have actually written this question just for me!Emus are not the brightest of creatures and mine are about 8 years old now and until 2 weeks ago I would say they don't have an aggressive bone in their bodies. However 2 weeks ago Mallory for the first time ever got a bit funny and pecky with me and it looked like she might have a go. She's 2mts tall with a titanium beak and velociraptor claws so can be somewhat intimidating but I picked up a stick and chased her away. The next day she was entirely back to normal. I guess in 8 years anyone can have an off day.As I've spent many days/weeks of my life dealing with the injuries I've received from horses I'm uniquely qualified in saying emus are a darn sight safer.

Why is the cassowary considered to be more deadly to humans than compared to other gigantic birds like the emu, rhea, and the ostrich?

Let me present to you what cassowary feet look like. These buggers basically have a straighter version of a velociraptor claw on their feet. They’ll deliver kicks, including jump kicks, with those feet aiming to cause damage. These are one of a very limited number of bird species known to have killed people by deliberately attacking them. The only other bird species I can think of that’s killed a human while deliberately attacking them is the chicken (a fighting cock killed his handler by attacking him, the handler had been cheating by putting tiny razors on the bird’s feet to maximize the damage the bird could do which is what got him killed instead of just injured). So think of it this way. This is a colorful 6 foot tall death turkey, the only living bird heavier than it is the ostrich, it has almost velociraptor like claws, a beak that can do damage on its own, and a bony crest on its head it can also do damage with. It can run at speeds over 30 miles per hour, it can leap nearly 5 feet into the air, its attacks can put a fighting cock to shame. If Feathered Deathbringer wants to do you in then it can do a damn good job of trying to off you.Luckily they’re naturally pretty shy, it’s only the ones use to humans you have to worry about most of the time. But even ones not use to humans may attack if provoked or they feel you’re a threat to their offspring.Yeah, the other large flightless birds can do some damage, but they don’t have the weaponry this bad boy has.

Will emus kill snakes?

as far as i know, emus arent known for killin snakes, cats, just pet cats are really good for killin snakes, other animals that kill snakes include birds of prey, other snakes (king snakes) and a mongoose (dont know if you can get one of these tho). if you lived closer id come and take care of the snakes myself, i catch em alive no matter what the species. anyways good luck, let me know how things turn out.

How do people now view the Australian Emu War?

It’s something that we do not speak of. Most people if asked about it will even pretend never to have heard of it. Obviously it’s well covered on all educational levels, from pre-school to university and we have literally dozens of PhDs graduating annually who specialize in the psychological aspects of this tragedy. To this day dozens of veterans suffer terrible effects of PTSD yet they are shunned by the society who pretends like they don’t even exist. On the other hand the surviving emus are revered, respected and admitted. Most have been given well paid and secure public service jobs, some made it into politics and as the rumour has it, one of them even served as a prime minister. The military took the loss very seriously too re-organizing itself to better serve against such threats future. Some of the steps they have taken were rather extreme. For example have you ever heard about the British nuclear tests in outback Australia? Well, it was all a cover story to exterminate with extreme prejudice some of the most aggressive emu tribes still occupying the red centre.
