Is The Family Doctor The Correct Doctor To Go To For Them To See If You Have Depression Or Ocd

OCD, Trich, and Depression...?

If you have been diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and are taking medication for it, you should be okay.

For what you are calling Trich, I hope I am right by assuming you mean trichomonas. This is completely separate from your other diagnoses.
Trichomonas/Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted disease that can be treated with a drug called Flagyl. If you have this, your partner will also have to take medication or you will be giving this back to each other. My husband gave this to me and the doctor treated him as well.

Depression: Hope you are getting treatment for this by your family doctor or psychiatrist.

What I Think:
What you are describing sounds to me like you may have Attention Deficit Disorder or Hyperactivity which is also treatable. See your doctor for all the above. If you are having a hard time concentrating and misbehaving in school, you may very well have hyperactive attention deficit disorder.

I am wishing you good health and a good cure as well. Happy Holidays.

Getting control of pure ocd and depression without the use of medication?

I asked my wife, who is a senior doctor, and uses both traditional and Western treatment.
She is not impressed with paroxetine (Paxil), and sertraline (Zoloft) fluoxetine (Prozac) - commonly prescribed by Western doctors for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder - and has never prescribed them for anything in her life.

You should pay attention to your doctor, though. That's what you pay her for.
Intrusive thoughts and depression are common symptoms.
Treating the cause defeats the symptoms.

It may help your peace of mind to visit a Chinese herbal doctor. He/she would probably agree somewhat with your regular doctor, and treat the underlying cause. But they may approach the problem in a different way. They also give some symptomatic relief at the same time.
To a Chinese doctor, the right balance (Chi flow) is everything. OCD is generally imbalance in the spleen, kidneys, lungs, heart, or most commonly liver - or some combination of these.
Herbal medicines are generally gentler than modern pills.
The Chinese doctor would make up a special herbal tea and/or herbal pills that is specific exactly to you. Everybody is different. Hence no specific recommendation without examination.
Some commonly used herbs -
St. John's Wort (Hypercin / Hypericum) works well for some.
Ginkgo Biloba
Valerian Root (Valeriana officianlis)
Gotu Kola
Ginseng
Kava-Kava
Bupleurum and dong quai combination.
Magnetitum, Leonuri Fruits, Chen Chu, Ostreae Testa combination.

Marijuana (or Ephedra Alkaloids used for weight loss in USA) is specifically a very bad choice for OCD, and will make it worse.

Acupunture has had very good success.
The right diet, and exercise, is often part of the treatment.
Consider Qi Dong Tai Chi, for helping balance between body and mind. It works wonders for many.
Aromatherapy: a mixture of lavender, rosemary, and valerian, assists relaxation
Note -
A Chinese doctor is not some packet of stuff you found on a shelf at a supermarket or drug store.
At least in China, a traditional doctor will not accept any payment unless treatment is successful.

And - I am not telling you to ignore your regular doctor - just showing some alternative ideas.

What should I do if I think I have depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, insomnia and trichotillomania?

Online quizzes can only point you in a direction. Honestly, I'd be more likely to trust a diagnosis from a quiz for a medical problem than for a psychological one. With psychology, there's rarely a simple diagnosis. Things are considered on a range of "more or less" rather than absolutes like "yes or no". Also, many disorders have overlapping symptoms. For instance, you mention depression and bipolar disorder. You really don't diagnose clients as having both because the depression is seen as part of the bipolar disorder. You also mention anxiety, OCD and trichotillomania. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder is classified as an anxiety disorder and Trichotillomania is very closely associated with anxiety disorders, especially OCD. Insomnia is likely a byproduct of the other issues. So, don't get overwhelmed by all these different names. If you do meet the criteria for diagnoses, I suspect you'll only have a mood disorder and an anxiety disorder with Trichotillomania as a feature. Find a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or a psychiatrist to give you a proper evaluation.

Does anyone have experience with natural remedies for depression /ocd/anxiety? I am aware of most everything?

Do yourself a favor and listen to the med student. St. Johns wort has been shown in European studies to help with depression but you are talking about a major anxiety disorder complex. Please do not fuss around with your mental health. If you are seeing a general family doctor about anxiety/depression, etc., ask for a referral to a psychiatrist who will give you a proper evaluation and diagnosis and will work on giving you a medication that you can tolerate and will also give you or refer you to a therapist for behavioral and talk therapy. Both are important to treatment as is making changes in your lifestyle and doing some kind of exercise or routine to strengthen your nervous system ( practiced an aerobic form of yoga). I beat anxiety disorder/depression and other related problems through just behaviorial therapy and many lifestyle changes but it took a very loooong time to get over the physical symptoms. If I had to do it over again, I'd probably take the meds too.
