Why Is The Book Called The Fault In Our Stars?

This is an actual answer from John Green:

Q. Why did you pick the title and how does it relate to the novel?
A. First off, thanks to nerdfighter Rosi for contextualizing the quote for me in a way that made me want to use it as a title in the first place.
So there’s this moment in the play Julius Caesar where one Roman nobelman says to another, “The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars but in ourselves, that we are underlings.” And in the context of the play, that quotation makes perfect sense—these two guys did not suffer some unjust destiny; they made decisions that led them to their fates.
However, that quote has since been decontextualized over and over and used universally as a way of saying that the fault is not in the stars (i.e., fate/luck/whatever) but in individual people.
Well, that’s of course ridiculous. There is plenty of fault in our stars. The world is a profoundly unjust place in which suffering is unfairly distributed, and in all of my novels but especially this one, I am trying to find ways to live honestly and hopefully in the worldwithout ignoring/denying the universe’s cold and painful indifference to us.*
The whole problem of reconciling ourselves to the fault in our stars seems like a really big problem to me—and not just an abstract, philosophical problem but a problem that has to be solved in order for us to get up every day and get dressed and brush our teeth and try to live full, productive lives.
* Well, I can’t say categorically that the universe is indifferent to us. But I think the way the universe looks and the way it would look if it were totally indifferent to us are disconcertingly similar, if that makes any sense.

What is so good about the novel The Fault in Our Stars that makes it universally loved?

Firstly, it is a popular fiction, yes.But universally loved is not a phrase I would use with this book. I, for example am not too big a fan. But I appreciate why others like it,as much as they do.Reason 1: The idea of star-crossed lovers is an age old and poignant theme. It's been around since Romeo and Juliet came to town.Reason 2: John Green has the art of telling a warm cuddly teenage take with sweet little details and enough small adventures that bring out the young kid in your soul. It's like if John Green had his own genre, it would, “remember when you were young? Here's a more awesome version of those days”.Reason 3: Its the right amount of cheesy for most readers. It's not too realistic,or it would get bland. But it's not too unctuous either. It's just the tolerable amount of cheesy, so that you can go “aww” and not , “come on!”.Reason 4 : Its perfect for teens and people in early twenties who want to read a sweet love story without investing too much brain power into the book. It's a simple read, basically. It's no Moby Dick, or Wuthering Heights or Don Quixote. It's a vicarious trip for the teens and young adults, I think. Now I want to state here that this is just my opinion. It is based on many small things…one of which is the fact that when this book came out, and you visited any popular book store to find a *teen crowd”, it was probably for this book. In my country,India,it sure ruined a complete book fair (annual thing) for me.This and the fact that I've read this book, because once upon a time I was a teen, makes me somewhat fit to state: it's a modern flitting fad and not a mature read.As I said, not a fan. But I do appreciate why other people probably are.
