Is The Great Tom Brady Nearing Retirement

What happened to this Brady guy being the greatest, he looked like maybe the 4th best QB that played today?

LOL. That's pretty funny. He actually did have the worst performance of all the quarterbacks that played today

Brady is still one of the best QB in the NFL though. He's just not the greatest.

Why does Tom Brady care about 1k career rushing yards so much?

He doesn’t, really….much…kinda. It’s just a cute Social Media “Man, I’ve been here forever, and look, I’m a 1000 yard rusher!” cute thing. Trust me, he’d trade that 1000 yards in a heartbeat if he could kneeldown to clinch one more Super Bowl Ring. However, when you consider that at least one of the reasons he was available to the Patriots as the 199th pick in 2000 was because of his….pedestrian…time of 5.28 seconds in the 40 yard dash (see below), you can understand why he cherishes the thought that “Hey, I’ve run the equivalent of 25 of those as a Pro!”As for why he was so emphatic about remaining at 1000 this past Sunday (to the point that on the game concluding kneeldown, instead of just kneeling, he rushed into the line and knelt at the line of scrimmage, so it was 0 yards, keeping him at 1000, rather than -1 yard, resulting in 999), it’s been a running gag for about 5 weeks that he was close…and I’m sure getting the monkey off his back and having it remain off was worth it to him.

How does Tom Brady Make it to the Super Bowl almost every single time?

Nothing is A Lock in the NFL!#% The ball is not round and bounces in funny ways. From a talent stand point there is not much difference with the Rams having a purely talent advantage. The Pats have experience hugely in their favor. The Pats are nearing the end of a great dynasty……..and ALL DYNASTYS come to an end. The young lion waits…….

Are we seeing the last season of the Patriots dynasty?

It is difficult to watch this year’s version of the Patriots and not recognize that the talent level has fallen off from previous seasons. Brady is still a very good quarterback , regardless of age, but has missed his targets far more than in prior years. Much of this is surely attributable to the dirth of talent at the receiver positions. Brady’s most reliable outlet, the incredible Gronk, is definitely hurting , which has tremendously affected the entire offense. Management left Brady with no real downfield threats which resulted in the Josh Gordon gamble, a gamble that has now backfired. The defense appears slow and really has too few impact players to make a difference. Their recent drafts have not provided the players needed to replace the current aging stars. Even mediocre teams no longer seem to fear the Pats, The killer instinct that helped make this team the greatest in football history has vanished. The credo of New England has always been, “ next man up”. Problem is, the “ next man up” does not have enough talent to keep this dynasty alive. The Pats are still capable of beating anyone on any given Sunday, but the biggest difference is that they are also capable of losing to teams that they would previously dominate. It’s been a heck of a run, but the dominance that we’ve witnessed for the last 2 decades is not sustainable.

Why is it that the current NFL's best quarterbacks are either a group nearing their 40s (Brees, Brady, Rothlisberger, Rivers) or those in their early 20s (Mahomes, Goff, Wentz, Trubisky, Garoppolo)?

There are two reasons for this. There may be more, but here are two.Reason 1: Adaptation to the spread offenceCollege football went to the spread offence almost a decade ago. The NFL stayed stuck in its ways until far more recently. The old guard of Brady, Brees, et al. grew up in the pre-spread era. NFL offences are now far more amenable to the spread formation, occasionally playing five WR/TEs and omitting RBs altogether, or putting the RB in motion as a de facto fifth receiver.Playing the spread offence in college, and then being squeezed into the stodgy old NFL system, didn’t make for good quarterback development.SB Nation’s commentary: Embracing college offense made the NFL fun againWashington Post’s commentary, with a massive picture of Jared Goff to prove this point: https://www.washingtonpost.com/s...Reason 2: Injuries to QBs aged 28–30Sam Bradford is made of glass.Robert Griffin III was sensational as a rookie before suffering a series of devastating injuries.Ryan Tannehill just missed an entire season. If there were as many as three more elite quarterbacks in this age range, such as the three I just mentioned, this question would be a non-question. Whether any of those three would have become elite is a worthy subject for debate. I still like the Sam Bradford/Chris Chandler comparison.Cam Newton, Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson remain the standard-bearers.

When will Ben Roethlisberger's NFL career end?

Rothlisberger is currently 34 years old, and has been the starting QB for the Steelers for 13 years now.....He has a contract with the Steelers through 2019, when he will be 37. A QB's NFL life doesn't last much longer than 37. Peyton Manning played for 16 years, and was 39 when he retired. My guess is that Big Ben's longevity will be very similar......considering that he doesn't get hurt between now and then. Bottom line, I think that he has 3-5 more years before he hanfgs up his cleats.

How many people agree with this?

Colin Kaepernick, RG3, Russell Wilson, Andrew Luck, and Aaron Rodgers > Tom Brady, Drew Bress, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, and Phillip Rivers

OUT with the old Elite QBs and IN with the New elite QBs agreed?
