Is The Honda Cbr600f4i A Better Bike Than The Kawasaki 650r

Oil Change on a 2006 HONDA CBR 600 F4i motorcyle help?

I just bought a 2006 Honda CBR 600 F4i and the previous owner suggested I do coolant and oil change. He said he ran full synthetic in the bike and suggested I do the same. Forgot to ask him which brands to use.

I checked out Mobil 1 Full synthetic RT-4 racing 10W-40 motorcyle oil. Need about 3.5 quarts from what I've read. I know my brothers uses Mobil 1 on his mercedes but not sure what is good for motorcycle.

Does that seem like a good oil to use on my bike? I heard of something called AMSOIL which is good as well, but the Mobil 1 is available at O'reilly auto parts just down the street.First time bike owner so any suggestions would help. Thanks

Which bike is better, the Yamaha YZF600R or the Honda cbr 600 f4i?

They are both good starter bikes. They aren't the super sport type so it would be easier to learn on. The Yamaha has a more upright riding position than the CBR. Honda is known for it's reliability but that all depends on owner care and if you're buying used, there's no way to verify.

So I'd say go wit the Yam!

Questions about 2001 HONDA CBR 600 F4i?

If you take it easy and ride within your limits, you won't crash. Everybody doesn't crash. For the record a 600 is a learners sport bike. Out of the big 4 I think the CBR is the best to start on. I would recommend taking the class though. It's fun and very informative.

Miles means nothing as long as the guy maintained it well.

The kelly blue book value is actually $4400 retail. Look to pay between $3500 and $4000. Don't go over $4000. Offer $3000 and let him start bargaining. if you can settle around $3500 great.

What are good sports bikes for shorter riders?

Almost all of the 1980s and 1990s Japanese grey import 400ccs are loved by all the women riders I know.NC30 / VFR400CBR400RR.The problem is they’re almost as old as I am.Therefore I recommend you buy any modern pointy bike you want and buy a lowering kit.A lowering kit will usually be a couple of dog bones for the rear suspension. If your bike has a centre stand (why I love the CBR600F4i) then with a few spanners and about 45 minutes you can change the dog bones over to shorter ones. The problem with this is that you alter the geometry of the bike, you also alter the centre of gravity, and roll centre. 9/10 times you won’t notice it. I didn’t notice the £1000 suspension upgrades much on my CBR600 other than it stood upright a bit more. These changes can make a bike become twitchy and unstable.Note CAN. Not always. To counter this you need to adjust the front suspension. A cheap modification for this is to drop the forks through the triples clamps a few rings? Also change the tyre to one with a steeper profile.I know for a fact the 2008-2012 Ninja250R shock links are about 5mm shorter than RS250. As I changed a set over a few years ago for somebody. He still owes me a case of beer for doing that. We had all sorts of problems as the the sub frame and exhaust got in the way.Alas you can simply go to a suspension tuner and get it set up just the way you want. Me I set the suspension to as hard as possible then forget about it and ride around potholes :D

What is the best sportbike for a beginner?

I agree with CLASSQM--there are no good beginner sport bikes and, sadly, Honda doesn't offer a reasonable alternative.

Now, I'm not saying you are going to kill yourself--no, not at all. I'm saying the 600cc sport bikes will do 10-second quarter miles and top out above 150 mph. Now, if you have above average intelligence--and it sounds like you do--you will understand the risk there, get some education and control your need for speed. Also, to get good performance, you'll need to ride the bike in the 8-12,000 rpm range. Most beginner will be very uncomfortable with that kind of engine speed--and the rush of power that goes with it.

The OTHER problem with sport bikes is they are just, plain, darned UNCOMFORTABLE. These are racer replicas. The AMA super bike race I watched this past weekend ran 20 minutes. That's about as long as the best athletes in the world can ride and maintain maximum control of these torture devices. So, I recommend buying a CBR600 and a trailer and making it your track bike.

For real world riding, commuting and getting to the mountains so you can play a little bit, I recommend a sporty looking standard motorcycle. The Suzuki GS500F, Suzuki GSX650F, Yamaha FZ6R (my favorite), Kawasaki Ninja 500 (you don't need the 250 since you are taking the class) or the fine Kawasaki Ninja 650R. These are all sporty bikes with good looks and a "standard" riding position. The lower pegs, higher bars and thicker seats will give you a MUCH more comfortable ride. These bikes will actually FEEL faster in the real world because they have more torque (acceleration) in the rev range and at speeds you actually ride on the street.

Is there any method to start a bike without having the key?

Step 1Locate the ignition wiring coming out of the handlebar area. There will three coloured wires bundled together in a wiring sleeve.Step 2Look along the wiring sleeve until you find the point where the three coloured wires end with a plastic wiring cap along the body of the bike. The cap will have another group of wires plugged into.Step 3Pull the caps apart and let the ignition wiring hang down. Hold onto the lower portion of wiring.Step 4Insert one end of the speaker wire into one of the eyes of cap socket. Bend the wire and insert the other end into another eye. If you don't see the light of the bike turn on along with the click of the engine, try inserting the wires in a different combination until you get results.Step 5Press the ignition button on the throttle to start the motorcycle engine.Warning.Never try this with a vehicle that you don't own or don't have permission.

Whats Considered a Superbike?

I am looking into buying a motorcycle but insurance says it'll be $80 a month rather than $25 if its a superbike. I am looking at a 2002 Honda Cbr 600 F4i, is this considered one?

What are some good sports bikes for a beginner?

Level of groupset is usually a good indication of the bike quality. Look at brakes, brake levers, shifters, etc. There are just a handful of companies that produce those:ShimanoCampagnoloSRAMEven at the lower end their components are of decent quality. Avoid bicycles that use unbranded brakes, detailers, and shifters. Cheap, supermarket bikes usually do not use brand groupsets. That's a good indication that they will not last and may be dangerous on the road in case of sudden failure. Also if your budget allows, do not choose lower-end groups. E.g., for a beginner road bike I would recommend Shimano 105. Ultegra is a very good one and Dura-Ace is a top competition group without compromise.Chainrings may also be produced by FSA. Other components, like wheels, handlebars, stems, seatposts can be manufactured by a variety of companies. Their quality is important but since they are easier to manufacture their brand is not as important and usually would match the level of other components by the manufacturer. There is a variety of bike frames, which usually bear the bike manufacturer's brand. They usually do a lot to promote themselves on large cycling competitions, which usually take place in Europe. Frames can be aluminium or carbon-fiber. There were steel frames, but their time for sport bikes is over. They are too heavy and not stiff enough. Carbon frames are the most expensive, but depending on the model can be either comfortable for a bumpy ride or stiff for a top competition. Aluminium frames are cheap, but too stiff and not as reliable. There are also titanium frames, but they are usually used for recreational and tourist bikes.I have a personal preference to Fulcrum wheels, but this does not really matter. Do not choose a bike with carbon rim wheels. They are stiff and cool, but fragile and can easily brake on a crack in the road and cause injury.Based on this information, you can find a decent bike in a specialized bike shop. Avoid supermarket bikes.
