Manga is nickelodeon, cartoon network and other children cartoon networks for the average kid in japan and china. The thing is that Japanese and Chinese society is very different from ours in the U.S. Or U.K. And in some ways the complete opposite of what our western culture believes in, so it would be different in ways you might not be used to seeing, not necessarily in a inappropriate way but the social norm in china and japan in some cases may look "weird" to an average american or englishman so I think as long as she is aware that the culture it comes from is very different from the one we live in its perfectly fine. she is 11 and most likely knows the ways and ideas of whatever society she lives in.
