Is The Meg Book Series Any Good

What are some good fantasy book series?

Thats a tough question because all the answers would be subjective. Since I came to this thread looking for new fantasy books to explore, I will add my two cents to this thread from that perspective. We'll start off with the Usual Suspects -The Lord of the Rings seriesA Song of Ice and Fire seriesHarry Potter seriesNow on to the ones I have read recently and really enjoyed - Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson - Outstanding magical system and world creation. Characters that stay with you for a long time. Magic System is so well developed I am surprised there is no game based on it out yet. Definitely recommended for all ages. The author has other ongoing fantasy series but since none of them are completed yet, I havent tried them out. They are all regarded highly though. The Kingkiller Chronicle series by Patrick Rothfuss - Effortless reading. Nice magical system built up and taught as separate arts in a University. Story is told as a series of flashbacks of the life of Kvothe, a magically gifted young man. Poetic prose is the most apt description I can come up with. The Broken Empire series by Mark  Lawrence - For a first effort by an author this series is of an outstanding quality. The first book is a difficult read but the author really steps up in the final two. In the first book, the hero is difficult to relate to, the pacing is a bit inconsistent and its just really dark but get though this because the trip is worth it. The story unravels in multiple time lines and with different character perspectives but this is handled masterfully by the author. Mature content and gory bloodshed warning. Not recommended for a young audience.Gentleman Bastard series by Scott Lynch - Heist and con stories set in a fantasy world! Whats there not to like? Memorable characters, setting backed by great writing, dialogues and cussing...Discworld series by Terry Pratchett - Outstanding satire, parody and dry wit. (RIP Sir Terry, the world is a duller place without you in it). Around 40 books in the series mostly stand alone stories but there are mini series you can find with repeating characters. My personal favourite is the DEATH mini series.Recommended for all ages.

What are some good books like the airhead series by meg Cabot?

Try Lucky Charm and On the Rim of Love by Marie Astor - these are not series, but really good love stories.

Are The "Meg" series by Steve Alten any good?

I read the first book a while back and have since decided not to pick up anything else by Steve Alten. I really disliked the writing style.

The order of the series is as follows:
1) MEG: A Novel of Deep Terror
2) The Trench
3) MEG: Primal Waters
4) MEG: He**'s Aquarium

Good books like The Mediator series?

ummm...all books by Tamora Peirce, they're just amazing, in my POV, and there are multiple series and two seperate worlds where they come from. I suggest starting with the Song Of The Lioness quartet, about a girl who wants to be a knight, but in her world, girls aren't aloud to be a knight. it's much more interesting than it sounds, trust me! her other world is more supernatural, the first quartet in that world is called Circle of Magic, and it's about 4 people who find out that they have extra abilities and are moved somewhere. They all come from different lifestyles, so it's odd for them, and they all have dif. powers. It's really good. How about the Uglies series? it's by Scott Westerfeld, and it's about this girl who lives in another world and when she makes a friend who wants to run away from the town, she's told that she can't do something until she goes after that person. Also, Maximum Ride by James Patterson, it's about bird people, and it's pretty good. or The Host by Stephenie Meyer, about another time where 'souls' have taken over the world and a struggle in one of them. It's really good, trust me. One more series, called The Claidi Journals is about a girl in another world who is a servent, and this prince comes and she runs away with him. It's got loads of mystery through out the quartet. The first book is called Wolf Tower.

I'll shut up now, but if you want any more books to read, just tell me, I read A LOT :)

I need to find a new book series. Any recommendations?

The Skinjacker trilogy by ShustermanEverlostEverwildEverfoundThey’re about ghost kids—a whole civilization of ghost kids, all over the world. There are no adults, and the kids can do crazy things like change their appearances. It has a really fun atmosphere, like they’re just playing some huge game, but the story itself is full of plot twists and shock and FEELS.The Chronicles of Faerie by MellingCan be read in any orderThe Summer KingThe Light-Bearer’s DaughterThe Hunter’s MoonThey’re all loosely connected, but they have different stories and characters. The Light-Bearer’s Daughter is my favorite, but all of them are awesome. Melling’s writing is outstanding, and seriously underrated in my opinion. It’s completely beautiful, and I would suggest her books to anyone. The only problem is they have some weird references to, like, occult stuff. If you’re not into that kind of thing, it can make you a bit uncomfortable. But it’s not the point of the story, and it doesn’t even advocate it, really; each book is about saving someone the character loves (a twin sister, a mother, a best friend). The Forever Angels series by WeynThere are rwelve books, I think? I don’t know what order they go in or all the names, because there are four or five characters with different sets of their own books. They’re about the supernatural, but without all the darkness and creepiness. They’re about angels, but they don’t particularly concern any religion. I guess you could call them spiritual. As for the characters, Katie by far has the best story and personality. Christina is really annoying. Ashley is all right, but she’s kind of bland, and I haven’t read any of Molly’s books. They’re not as girly and fluffy as they’re made out to be, except maybe Ashley’s part.I’ll probably think of more later.
