For someone (me) overage for the Philippine Military Academy's cadet age limit, what are my other options to serve the country as a soldier?

A2A.Disclaimer: This Answerer only has knowledge of the Singapore military, and as such is unable to directly answer any other country’s military questions. Inferences may be made, but may not be fully accurate; military and national cultures differ too much. Sorry.Hm! I didn’t know about that age requirement.I’d recommend that you talk to a member in the military of decent-ish rank about your situation, perhaps explaining it due to education. Alternatives are to gain a medical degree then come in as a Medical Officer, to join Logistics companies which the Phillippines outsources to, or something similar.Singapore doesn’t have an age limit, so I’m not particularly helpful in this instance, I think.

What is the military history of the Philippines?

The 1st Filipino military was indirectly established during the Philippine Revolution against Spain in 1897. its first Commander in Chief is one other than the 1st Filipino President Emilio Aguinaldo. It won its first battle against Spain when Filipino troops had surrounded the walled city of Intramuros which was a Spanish majority city during that time after the American navy sunk the Spanish Navy at Manila Bay in May 1898.The Philippines as Spanish colony finally gained independence from Spain on June 12, 1898 and remained under the locals’ control unti 1901 because President Aguinaldo was captured by the invading American troops. So the country again became under the foreign control after 333 years of Spanish rule until 1935.In 1935 when the country was allowed to have a Commonwealth government, the Filipino army was initially organized under the National Defense Act of 1935 (Commonwealth Act No. 1) that formally created the Armed Forces of the Philippines. The act specified that in so far as may be practicable, original appointments by the President in grades above third lieutenant should be made from among former holders of reserve commissions in the United States Army, from among former officers of the Philippine Scouts and Constabulary. When World War 2 erupted, Filipino troops helped the American forces to defend Bataan and Corridor from invading Japanese forces but failed so Filipino troops became guerillas waiting for the arrival of American forces that will help liberate the Philippines under Japanese control. When Philippines finally became truly independent in 1946, Filipino armed forces became the armed wing for the Filipino government who will help defend the country from both internal and external threats.it already beaten the HUKBALAHAP militants to extinction, arrested a lot of Communist leaders starting from Martial Law period of former strongman Ferdinand Marcos until now, destroyed the former main MILF Camp Abu Bakr in 2000 and neutralized ISIS inspired terrorists in the city of Marawi in the Southern Philippines.
