Is the Picante Chicken flavor of ramen the same as Hot and Spicy Chicken flavor?

The only common taste in both flavors, is that the seasoning is spicy. The picante seasoning is flat and spicy while the hot and spicy flavor is more full flavor, taste better and smell better too. Some people like one over the other. Some like it both. Its depend on the individual taste. I like full flavored ones and there are several good hot and spicy chicken flavor and the best is still the shrimp flavored ones or Korean hot and spicy ones like nongshim etc *

What is "oriental flavor" on ramen noodles?

What is oriental flavor?First off all the Ramen packs most people know have oriental flavor. It's the ginger, and soy, and some universal flavors like onion and garlic. The dry and dri ed flavors that go in sauces like Teriyaki. The difference with the oriental flavor and the other flavors is that it diesn't have another flavor as a base, like the chicken, or beef, or shrimp, and so on. The umami comes from something other than bullion. BTW, with brands like Top Ramen, the oriental flavor is the only one that can be said to be vegitarian, unless they recently added another vegi flavor.

Is it safe to eat ramen when you are sick?

I would say….YES! Sure it doesn’t have healthy antioxidants or vitamin c like fruits and veggies. BUT like honey and drinking plenary of water , cup of noodles has high sodium which causes a osmotic imbalance due to high solutes causing a kind of cytolysis to the pathogen :) still eat healthy ofcourse

Marauchan Ramen Noodles....has anyone tried this flavor?

Its really not that hot. Probably the same as the chili flavor. My brother eats all that with like egg, green onion, sometimes hot dogs pieces and other um not so good stuff but he likes it and that all that counts I suppose. NO he hasn't been to prison lol but he was very poor at one time and that and hamburger meat was all they could afford at the time. He since then has prospered but he still loves his ramen lol

Why do I get hiccups every time I eat spicy food?

Chili peppers contain a chemical compound called capsaicin, which is part of a group of chemicals that give chilies their individual taste and heat profile. Capsaicin can activate neurons in the diaphragm, which contracts and causes hiccups.Capsaicin is also an irritant. Chili plants are thought to use capsaicin as a defense mechanism in order to stop animals from eating the plant. In fact, humans are the only species known to enjoy eating spicy food.So why do we actively seek out food that is an irritant capable of causing painful sensations?Chili peppers and painCapsaicin binds to a pain receptor called TRPV1. When we accidentally expose our skin or eyes to chilies, we activate TRPV1 receptors, thereby causing the pain floodgates open. These receptors in our mouths are the reason for the "mouth-on-fire" feeling we experience when we eat spicy food.Interestingly, once a pain receptor is stimulated by capsaicin, it goes into a period of rest, which means that the same receptor doesn't transmit pain signals again.Scientists call this process "defunctionalization." This is why capsaicin is used to treat pain in some patients; it leads to loss of pain perception. The capsaicin receptor is found throughout the body, including in the nerves that control our diaphragm, which is the muscle that allows our lungs to take in air.Hiccups are thought to be caused by an involuntary contraction, or spasm, of the diaphragm, followed by contraction of the glottis. Airflow into the windpipe becomes temporarily blocked. When incoming air strikes the glottis, the characteristic hiccup sound occurs.Scientists are still speculating about the precise mechanism responsible for hiccups, as well as how exactly capsaicin leads to spasms of the diaphragm, which, at this point, remains unclear.Luckily, the capsaicin molecules that we eat in food don't stick around for very long; they are rapidly absorbed in the stomach and intestine to be broken down. But why do some of us start to hiccup at the mere sight of a chili, while others don't seem to be bothered by spicy foods at all?Feel free to comment on the article below or send us a message on GrumpyGary's if you have questions!Source: Why do chili peppers give us the hiccups?

What's so special about the jalapeño cheese spread in the American military's MRE packs?

Q: What's so special about the jalapeño cheese spread in the American military's MRE packs? In his answer about ramen vs MREs, Joel asserts that the packets of jalapeño cheese spread are the most coveted items in an MRE. What’s so great about them?Find them here: Amazon.com : MRE Accessory - Jalapeno Cheese Spread : Camping Freeze Dried Food : Sports & OutdoorsA: Personally, I rarely ate the cheese spread in the MRE packs. But I did trade them. Other soldiers seemed to think I was crazy, because I would trade the items they thought were the “best” for things they did not want. I loved the apple jelly and crackers.Imagine from your childhood, eating the Ritz cheese & crackers:The cheese is creamy. The crackers are buttery. Now, as an adult you remember eating those as a kid. That makes you feel happy. The jalapeno cheese in the MRE reminds you vaguely of that kid moment. But even better, this cheese can be mixed into the entrees in other MREs to make them taste better. It has a tiny bit of kick. I love super spicy food. So to me this is rather tame. But that tiny kick is enough to help spice up some pretty bland food. Take a look at this list of MRE menus:MRE Menus | MRE InfoMRE XXXVI (2016)01 – Chili w/Beans02 – Shredded Barbeque Beef03 – Chicken w/Egg Noodles & Vegetables04 – Spaghetti w/Beef and Sauce05 – Chicken Chunks06 – Beef Taco07 – Brisket Entrée08 – Meatballs in Marinara Sauce09 – Beef Stew10 – Chili and Macaroni11 – Veggie Crumbles w/Pasta in Taco Style Sauce12 – Elbow Macaroni and Tomato Sauce13 – Cheese Tortellini in Tomato Sauce14 – Spinach Mushrooms & Cream Sauce Fettuccine15 – Maple Pork Sausage Patty16 – Rib Shaped BBQ Pork Patty17 – Mexican Style Chicken Stew18 – Beef Ravioli in Meat Sauce19 – Grilled Jalapeno Pepper Jack Beef Patty20 – Hash Brown Potatoes w/Bacon21 – Lemon Pepper Tuna22 – Asian Style Beef Strips w/Vegetables23 – Chicken Pesto Pasta24 – Southwest Beef and Black BeansWhich of these entrees would NOT be made better by adding a bit of zesty cheese? Cheese makes most things better. Dry crackers? Better with cheese. Even better with cheese with a kick. Chili w/beans? MUCH better with cheese.I would guess the Lemon Pepper Tuna would not fare too well. I don’t like cheesy tuna dishes. But all in all, that cheese spreads easily, melts easily, and it can make you smile.
