Is The Razer Blade Pro Laptop Worth It

Is the Razer Blade a good laptop for gaming?

It’s a good machine, though keep in mind it’s a thin and light laptop- competing against things like MSI’s GS series, the Asus Zephyrus line, etc. These machines tend to cut some corners to limit weight and bulk. They tend to run a bit hot and usually pack Max-Q GPUs instead of the regular ones. If you’re out for raw performance, none of these machines are likely to be your top pick.I’ll also add that Razer machines are expensive… a lot more expensive than competitors with similar hardware. I’ve also heard a lot of complaints about their support, which from dealing with their peripherals I can say are probably valid.

What laptop should I buy, the Razer Blade Pro or the Alienware 17 R4 for gaming and programming?

Before reading on, check out this Acer model. I have it and it’s awesome! Anyway, here is a discussion about the Razer Blade Pro and Alienware 17 r4. Most people like Alienware 17 r4.

Is the Razer Blade Pro Laptop worth it?

Here's a laptop with the similar hardware for $1000 cheaper.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...

The Razer Blade Pro has 1/4th the storage of the previously linked MSI laptop, but the storage is faster. You will probably run out of space for games fairly quickly with the Razer Blade Pro. Should you want the faster storage, you can add a 256GB SSD for about $150.
The Razer Blade Pro has this weird numpad thing. I don't know how many games actually support this, probably not a whole lot.
The MSI has 4GB more RAM, which is overkill for gaming anyway. Still nice to have.
The MSI has a faster graphics card (the GTX770m instead of the GTX765m), so framerates will be higher with the MSI.
The Razer Blade Pro might have overheating problems, or so I heard.

Basically, the MSI is an all around better laptop, although just by a little bit, yet the RBP is $1000 more expensive. Yes, the RBP looks nicer and the numpad thing might work well for a few games, but I don't think that justifies the extra $1000.

If you care about your money, don't get the Razer Blade Pro. There are better laptops to get, like the MSI I previously linked.

Finally, some advice regarding the choice between laptops/desktops for gaming. If you don't really need to have the mobility of a laptop, then you definitely should get a desktop. You will get a lot more gaming performance plus a bigger screen for the same money. Not only that, but you can upgrade a desktop as it gets older, instead of buying an entire new computer. You can't do that with laptops. If you can, get a desktop. If not, then check out the laptop I previously linked.

Hope this helps.

What should I upgrade my laptop to a Razer Blade 15, Alienware M15, or a MacBook Pro?

Not sure what exact versions of each ones you are talking about so I’m just going from personal experience.if you are looking for friendliness to gamers and bestvalue, Macs (of any kind) are out of the question. Probably every Apple product is overpriced by a long shot. They charge $1500+ for outdated hardware and their OS is not the best with being compatible to software. However, I have known their products to be durable and long-lasting.Alienware also has a bad rep with being overpriced. However, their products are becoming better value. Their warranties and claim management are also some of the best I've experienced. I have sadly had to use those services a lot because of their products breaking constantly.I haven't gotten any Razer laptop yet so I wouldn't know. They seem fairly good though. If you want a good gaming laptop however, I would go with one of the Overpowered gaming laptops from Wal-Mart as they seem like the best value.

Financing a Razer Blade Gaming Laptop.?

So yeah, I am interested in purchasing Razer's gaming laptop. I know the price and the performance, and I know its is faster and better then MacBook Pro. I find its biggest appeal in its size and weight along with how it packs enough power for all my gaming needs. I have been wanting to get for at least 5 months now, the only issue that I don't have the money all together, but can afford to make monthly payments of 400-600 a month with ease. I am an incoming freshmen to college, the only credit history I have is that I have had a stable job working at a law office for 8 months now. I really wish to get this laptop and was wondering if there is any company out there that offers financing for this specific laptop.

~Thank You Guys/Girls

P.S. Please just don't debate or try to talk me out of my purchase, I have a solid idea of what I want and have personal reasons as to why I believe this is the laptop for me. I would appreciate some real answers, advice, or guidance on how to go about this issue.

Which would you pick, the new Razer Blade Pro V2 512GB or the Maingear Pulse 15?

Well, that’s an odd choice. The Razer is almost twice the price, but has a GTX 1080, one of the best GPUs and a 4k screen. The Maingear has a GTX 1060, which is very good for 1080p.It really depends on what type of games you want to play. I have an MSI laptop with a GTX 1060 and that suits my needs perfectly because I don’t necessarily play the most demanding games (currently Heroes of the Storm, Overwatch, Killing Floor 2…).If money isn’t an issue at all, I’d say go for the Razer, although at this price I would also consider other brands (Asus ROG, MSI etc.). If you need a good machine for gaming, the maingear is a reasonnable choice.Same thing though, I would consider other brands. My laptop is similar to this one (same GPU and CPUs, fancy keyboard etc.) but with a few differences (120 Hz 17″3 screen, 128 Gb SSD + 2 Tb HDD), but was much cheaper than that. Also I see no mention of G-Sync or refresh rate for the screen, you might want to ask them about that.

Macbook Pro vs Razer Blade?

Mac. I love the mac and have been a user for 4 years. In the long run you will save time and money not having to use a virus protector. I have never gotten a virus and also my iMac of 4 years is still running like brand new. They are built to last. Also, like you said, you can have windows as well on a mac if your into that. Part of the reason why a mac is great for school is that fact that you don't have to worry about it failing you from virus's and what not as well as its programs being cheaper then that of windows. You will not regret getting a mac. I promise.

Should I buy a used Razer Blade Pro for $1500, or buy it new for $2200? I personally have no problem with a slight scratch for example.

Assuming the same machine, and only cosmetic damage, no reason to not go used. That’s a hefty price drop too.Other things to be aware of: the battery will probably not be in top condition due to wear. There could also be some damage that the owner is not even aware of- dead unused ports are one thing to look for.As with anything secondhand, be sure to check it out fully when you get it, and make sure you are using some kind of protected transaction (e.g. eBay). I personally would not buy something like this off somewhere like Craigslist, unless both you and the seller are willing to spend time vetting the hardware before you hand over the cash.
