Is The Republican Party A Dead Party Unless They Can Get More Europeans To Immigrate

Why did the Republicans support France in their International policy while the Federalists supported Britain?

First off, the Jeffersonians were Democratic-Republicans; the modern Republican Party was not formed until the 1850s.

The Federalists supported Britain because they needed to continue their worldwide trade routes, but Britain still had the best navy in the world, which would have severely limited the ability to trade in Europe and other areas. The Jeffersonians wanted to support France because the French had the second-best navy and could challenge the British to allow American goods to be shipped. The only problem was that France was facing their own Revolution and the United States quickly lost favor when they made the Louisiana Purchase from Napoleon, as most French citizens wanted to keep the area for the fur trade and other resources from the area.

If Republicans are serious about illegal immigration and securing the border, why don't they propose the use of mines?

A2A. The same two reasons why people who are serious about stopping child abuse don’t propose the death penalty for bad parents. First, the moral reason: you can be entirely serious in believing that something is harmful to the country and even morally wrong, while still recognizing that killing those who cause it is much worse than they deserve. Second, the cynical reason: news photos of shredded immigrants, just like mothers strapped to lethal injection gurneys, would be election campaign gold for opposition candidates.

How can we make Europe more right-wing like America's Republicans?

I don’t particularly buy into the idea that America is more right-wing than Europe. The GOP is certainly more right-wing than Europe’s center-right parties, however, unlike America which essentially has a two-party system, Europe also has a lot of mainstream right-populist, nationalist and fascistic parties, who are far more right-wing than the GOP. The Republicans are essentially a classical liberal party; they are far more preoccupied with economic liberalism than they are with, say, ethnic or cultural heritage. Sure, they often try to make appeals to their socially-conservative, Christian and largely White voter base, but the Republican donor class don’t actually care about things like abortion, gay marriage or cutting illegal/third-world immigration. In fact, much of the Republican establishment openly supports mass immigration and globalization, out of economic self-interest.Right-wing parties in Europe are far less dogmatic about free-market absolutism, but are often openly opposed to multiculturalism, third-world/Islamic immigration, social liberalism and globalization. Many of these parties (the French National Front, the German AfD, the Dutch PVV, the Austrian FPO, Italy’s Northern League, the Polish Law and Justice party and the Hungarian Fidesz party) either hold power or are the second/third largest party in their country. Moreover, it’s hard to imagine how openly fascistic parties like Greece’s Golden Dawn, Hungary’s Jobbik or Italy’s Casa Pound could ever exist in the United States, yet they enjoy considerable support in Europe.
