Is The Salary Of A Bouncer Gross

What is the difference between in-hand salary and gross salary?

In-hand salary is the amount of money that gets credited to your account at the end of every month or in other words the actual amount which you receive after various deductions from your salary. Whereas the Gross salary is the total salary which you receive without any deductions. For example:A person's gross salary may be Rs 40000 but because of various deductions like contribution for pension scheme, Income tax deductions, professional tax deduction, etc he may be receiving only Rs 35000 at the end of the month. So here his gross salary will be Rs 40000(i.e salary without any deductions) and his in-hand salary will be Rs 35000(i.e salary after deductions).

What does "gross salary" mean?

In a typical payslip (salary slip), you will find 2 columns. One which lists all the amount that is paid to you by your employer. This might include (but not limited to) Base Pay, Allowances, Bonus amount and any reward amount. The total of all these items is the Gross Salary. In simple term, Gross Salary is your annual cost to company (CTC) divided by 12. However, this is not exactly true in cases where some part of your CTC is paid as reimbursable amount or paid in bulk at the end of the financial year. Similarly, rewards (award) also are not part of CTC.But this Gross Salary is NOT the money you will take home.On the other column in payslip, you will find the various deductions such as Income Tax, Provident Fund (Employee fund) and other amounts. The total of this is the deductions. If you subtract the Deductions from the Gross Salary, you get what you will take home or “Net Salary” or “Take Home Salary”.Hope this helps.

What is the difference between gross salary and CTC?

Also referred to as "in-hand" or "take-away" salary.CTC (Cost to Company)The total amount the company will be directly or indirectly paying if it hires you. This includes every possible cost the company pays for you that you possibly can't even imagine.Example:A company has compensation listed as:Base pay: 10,000 per annumJoining bonus (this is a one-time bonus that the company gives you for joining them): 3,000Stock award (over a period of X years): 5,000With the following perks:Free foodFree insuranceThen,CTC = 10,000 + 3,000 + 5,000 + cost of food for one employee per year + cost of insurance for the employeeIn a way the CTC is a deliberate misrepresentation of salary (which is supposed to be "per annum"), to attract people.
