Is The Toyota Tacoma The Only Small Pickup Available With A Standard Cab

Will subs fit in regular cab Toyota pickup?

Most of your off-the-shelf truck boxes will not fit. MAYBE if the seat is slid all the way forward, but nobody is going to drive around daily like that. Kicker makes a couple loaded enclosures that are DARN thin. The TCompS10, TCompRT10, and TCompRT12. If those are still too deep, then check out the Kicker Hideaway. It's a sub, box, and amp all built into one. Even comes with all the wiring.

Are there pickups, besides the Toyota Tundra, that come out of the factory with a rolling rear window?

A bit off topic: I’ve had a 2005 Tundra, since new, with retractable rear window. When I first saw it I thought “cool”, played with it, then basically didn’t use it for the next 12 years.I use it now, when parked, to cool the interior in the 107 degree Texas sun. But, if I leave it open, all the leaves and dirt get sucked in from the pickup bed, into the interior.I’ve maybe used it a half-dozen times in those years as a pass-through when camping or picnic-ing.

What pickup truck is smaller than a Chevy S10?

I have no clue anything about pickup trucks, looking for a small or compact pickup truck around year 2000 for winter use, etc. Can anyone recommend a model that is good on gas, smaller engine, smaller frame, and is a good value? Thanks :)

Chevy colorado/GMC canyon VS Toyota Tacoma?

Hi I'm the Uk and even though I don't know the other two GMC cars it really is a "no brainer" to buy the Toyota. The last answer put it very well. I know you feel (like I do) patriotic and want to buy "home made" but. The world is becoming a smaller place and different countries have their forte' Japan make the best cars, (closely followed by germany) France makes th best wine, china make the best copies, Italy have fashion, America has the best hospitality, ways of life and laws (excluding alcohol laws, especially in PA) Here in th UK we used to make a lot. Now we don't. We realized that other countries can do it cheaper. It is saddening that we are now famous for nothing. But why not let that country do what they do best UK (normal) cars were rubbish, after the Japanese imported the companies went bust. In a way it's not really a bad thing. Survival of the fittest, as in life. We moved on to IT and banking etc

Why is a pickup trucks called a 1/2, 3/4 & 1 ton when those specifications do not exist in the pickup truck's specs anywhere, not a weight, load capacity, etc.?

These terms are holdovers from when they used to mean the carrying capacity.  Think about the number designations.  If you consider back in the 1960s a Ford F100 truck was a true 1/2 ton truck that could carry 1000 pounds (half ton).  The F150 was a 3/4 ton truck back then, (1500 pound capacity).  The F250 and F350 could carry their equivalents in weight also.As the trucks grew larger the F150 inherited the 1/2 ton moniker and the  F250 and F350 were the next two sizes up regardless of carrying capacity.  These same designations work for Dodge and Chevy (x10) for 1500, 2500, and 3500.A modern 1/2 ton truck can easily carry a ton and 1 ton trucks can easily carry three tons, but they are still relative terms to let you know the carrying capacity.

What is the difference between the Toyota Tacoma off road and sport versions?

Usually, through the model years it’s:Suspension-OR (off road) has progressive coils and slightly different leaf springs. Sport has the same as the SR5. Both have bilstein 4600’s heavy duty. SR5 has Tokiko’s but they’re black.Driveline: both have a LSD differential but only the OR will have locking differential standard unless the Sport is a 4x4Appearance:The Sport will have color-keyed bumpers door handles and fender flares, and a hood scoop and also be available in a long/standard bed double cab. It will have trd wheelsThe OR will look like the SR5 with chrome bumpers, no hood scoop, and not be available in a standard long bed double cab. Both will have fog lights, auxiliary ac electrical plug in truck bed, badging, and the option of a electronic locking diff but standard on the 4x4 and OR.In my opinion, really the only thing that would be a PITA to modify to make an SR5 any one of the would be a locking diff, even though they’ve been electronic through the abs since 2005.I find the hood scoop unappealing and all are useless since the 1980’s with fuel injection instead of a carburetor. Some find the progressive spring compression a little uncomfortable and droops while towing, and the factory bilsteins tend to be a bit rough compared to aftermarket. The electronic plug in the back can be wired by most people but it’s nuce and neat in the Trd packages with a push button switch. The off-road is made for LIGHT of roading, Not the stuff you see in magazines and on tv. The Sport is made for the streets and highways for the best utilization. If you’re into a little more serious or medium off road, go for the TRD pro. Streets… stuck to SR5 or Sport. My overall general opinion, is to save money, get the SR5 either prerunner (now base) or 4x4. You can customize it the way you want for your needs for less ($1–2k) than a trd. That means at least $40–80 a month less in payments, less tax, a higher resale value (slight), and an all around comfortable truck.

What is the difference between a Toyota Tacoma and a PreRunner?

PreRunners are technically lifted 2WD Tacomas. “The word “prerunner” refers to a vehicle that pre-runs an off-road race course.” To understand the differences, this list says it all:Mechanical Differences Between PreRunner and Regular TacomaFor 2005-2010 models, the key differences between a regular Tacoma and a PreRunner are:Width: The PreRunner is about 2″ wider than a regular 2wdHeight: The PreRunner is about 2″ taller than a regular 2wd (give or take)More ground clearance: PreRunners have extra 1.5″ (or so) of ground clearancePayload rating: A PreRunner can haul about 200 lbs more than a regular 2wdBetter standard tires and wheels: PreRunners come with a more aggressive tire and 16″ wheels instead of 15″ wheelsSkid plates: PreRunners have them, regular 2wd’s don’tTaller rear axle: PreRunners come with a 4.10 or 3.73 rear end (V6 has 3.73), whereas regular 2wd’s come with a 3.31 or 3.58 (manual vs. auto)Larger front brakes: PreRunners have 12.56″ diameter front rotors, just about 2″ larger than regular 2wd’sSlightly tighter steering: PreRunners turn just a hair better than regular 2wd’sSame wheels as 4×4 Tacoma: PreRunners have 6 lug wheels, just like the 4×4 Tacoma. Regular 2wds have 5 lug wheels.Credit: Tacoma 101 - What's A PreRunner? - TacomaHQ
