Is There A Going To Be A New Season Of The Real Housewives Of Vancouver

Is it better to move to Canada as a Permanent Resident instead of staying in US on H1B?

I took this route and I’m very happy with my choice. Toronto is a great city and I love having all the peace of mind and freedoms that come with PR. I’ve spent a years on work visa’s in Singapore and the US. As for lower salaries, etc its hard to compare tax rates are lower in Toronto then in US+California also you get so much more back in terms of healthcare, great schools, parks, safety, a very positive government and a young and fast growing tech scene. In terms of the tech scene Toronto has companies like Google, Slack, Shopify, Wattpad, Ecobee and so many more. And you are always free to launch your own startup.I wrote about my experience the move and how to get Canadian PR here on the MovNorth siteI love having the freedom of PR and living in this city. After so many years it’s amazing to know that I’m free to change jobs easily, build my own startup or take a break from working. No more stamping, restrictions and visa paperwork. Our kids love being surrounded by so many parks filled with their friends. The neighborhood school is amazing and my kid will be starting the french immersion program this year. Me and my wife love our week long trips to Montreal and the food choices around here are pretty great. Also 2 year super-visa’s for my parents to come and stay. And in a couple more years we’ll apply for citizenship of our new home country. I get a lot of mail from people in the valley asking about Salaries etc. I think its more important to take a pause and list your priorities and think about how you want the next 10 years of your life to be.I wrote about my experience the move and how to get Canadian PR here on the MovNorth siteMov North

What is this Real Housewives of Vancouver (and other places)?

"The Real Housewives of Vancouver" is yet another "housewives" reality show that features pretentious, superficial, ostentatious, and self-absorbed women. The popularity of these shows has garnered high ratings. I, for one, enjoy watching these train wrecks.

Are there any talk shows like Jerry Springer or Steve Wilkos that are taped in Canada?

Not really............

That type of trash seems to be an American thing.

We do have talk shows that are informative, with interesting guests, and hosts who know how to conduct an interview, and who ask sensible questions. Imagine that ?

When is the Canadian government going to toughen up and realize that cities like Vancouver and Toronto are getting more and more expensive to live in because of Chinese immigration?

I think the problem is that Canadian values prohibit from targeting a specific race or ethnicity. Of course we shouldn’t do that, but when the consequences are this adverse, I feel like the government should be able to do something about it.The problem is that Vancouver and Toronto price is still undervalued compared to the cities where the Chinese people come from such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen. So there is still room for more appreciation.I’m an immigrant from South Korea and I came to Montreal in 2014. Currently, there are so many newly arriving Chinese people living in Montreal and they are all coming from rich families i.e. their parents are members of the Communist Party in China. I went to college with them as part of my immigration procedure. They all do not need to work. Their parents can support them and they are buying condos all over the city. I have a friend who bought a house in Westmount, doesn’t speak a word of French or English and yet the Canadian government gave him permanent residence. If the Canadian government does not take action, the real immigrants who really want to settle down in Canada and also less well-to-do Canadian citizens will take the blow. The new Chinese immigrants barely make an effort to learn English or French and they are comfortable in their ethnic bubble. They are coming in groves as the rich people in China want their kids to grow up in Canada due to air pollution being really bad in China and other reasons. At the same time, there are definitely Canadians who have benefited from Chinese immigration. I mean who sold their realty to Chinese immigrants in the first place anyway, right? They pay taxes and do spend money here. Canada needs brand new taxpayers. So basically, it’s the whole country has become a giant Airbnb for the rich Chinese. But jokes aside, I feel disillusioned because basically Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal are the only desirable cities in Canada, considering jobs, weather and cosmopolitan-ness, but they are already priced out. Like, where should new, non-loaded immigrants go now?
