Is mastering German good for a pharmacy student?

Pharmacy is not a “normal” study program in Germany and does not follow the Bachelor/Master system.Like Medicine and Law, Pharmacy studies end with a state examination. For this, you will need sufficient German skills.A work around would be a pharmacy-related study program such as pharmaceutical sciences. This will not enable you to work as a pharmacist but it should be enough to get into the pharma- industry.I checked the DAAD-website but couldn’t find any pharmacy-related master program fully taught in English. What I mean by this question is, German opens doors, doesn’t it? maybe a better chance to get a master degree in Germany or even a job there? If you want to study pharmacy or something parmacy-related in Germany, learning German is not only a very good idea but kind of mandatory. So if you study in Germany first and search for a job afterwards, you will speak German anyway.I think (although I’m not sure, because I do not work in that industry) that it could be possible to get a job in that area without German since the companies are quite international. But, if I would be a hiring manager and have the choice between someone who speaks German versus someone who does not, everything else equal, I would hire the German-speaking one.The bigger obstacle would be your citizenship. There is some bureaucracy involved in hiring a non-EU citizen. This makes companies prefer EU-citizens.If you don’t plan to either study in Germany and/or work here and you live outside Europe, there is not much reason to learn German.

Which books are good for a bachelor’s of humanity student?

Have you heard of the Great Books Program that many North American universities which has its roots in the 1920’s? A list of the books used in such a program can be found at Great books - Wikipedia . I think these books are essential readings for a typical humanities student. If you search for individual schools in the Wikipedia list, such as that of Columbia University using the right keywords, you can find smaller lists like this: Explore the Literature . Another example from the University of Chicago can be found at the bottom of the following: Core Curriculum | Liberal Arts Education for Adults .Have fun learning from the Great Books if this is what you’ve decided to do !

How hard is pharmacy school?

I'd say "8" or "9" - obviously it isn't "10" or no one could go there!

To be admitted to Pharmacy school you need to be a good student, score well on the PCATs and have good recommendations.
The prerequisites include biochem, organic chem and general chem. That means some of the toughest courses in college - courses that most college students wouldnt even consider taking.

If you check the website of the AACP (Amer Assoc of Colleges of Pharm) you see that about 100,000 kids apply to pharm school every year, but only 10,000 degrees are awarded. That pretty much sums it up. But 10,000 kids DO make it through. If you are in the best 10% of all US college kids, you can do it too.

Which is the best online pharmacy apps or websites?

"Best" is a very vague word.  You need to define metrics to compare the App. Some might say, just having lot of downloads would mean "best" app, whereas someone might focus on the functionality.  We (BookMEDS) has created  "BookMEDS App", with an aim to be the "Most Helpful" Online Pharmacy App.  It has features such as given below: 1. Ordering Medicines: Based on the customer's location, we show the nearest pharmacies available. Users can send the order directly to the pharmacies. 2. Pill Reminders: User can set pill-reminders so that they never forget taking medicines on time. 3. Health Records: Users can save all their health records at one place. 4. Remote Monitoring via Care takers: User can assign another user as Caretaker, who can remotely monitor & set pill reminders for the users. Caretaker can also order medicines on behalf of the user. 5. Health Groups: Users can create groups for discussion related to health issues. For example, cancer patients can create a private diabetic group to help each other. Coming to your question, Is BookMEDS App the best App?  Well, I would reserve my right to answer that question for one year. If we end up helping 1 million Indians within next 18 months and succeed in adding "care" to healthcare, I will update this.

What are some good websites for pharmacists who need to improve their clinical pharmacy skills and knowledge?

Pharmacist's Letter is a great resource for the newest knowledge condensed into a reasonably small footprint. You can always then read further primary literature about it if you want to go more in depth. If you are out of clinical practice because it's been many years since pharmacy school, I would suggest RxPrep, the book used by most to pass the NAPLEX. It's updated yearly and contains the most current regimen for just about every disease state, and digests most drugs into charts that help with learning. If you are on top of everything and just want to know more, you should look into board certification by ACCP/ASHP. This will add to your titles such as being a certified diabetes educator, etc. All the materials to prepare for the appropriate exam are available as prep course material you can purchase.

ask Jennifer to identify a hydrate on the shelf labeled A,B,C, and D. They were possibly CaSO4 . 2H2O, CaCrO4 . 2H2O, AlCl3 . 6H2O, and NiSO4 . 7H2O. Jennifer weighed 1.485g of a hydrate. After heating/weighing three times, Jennifer finally obtained 0.820g of the anhydrous compound. Jennifer concluded the hydrate was NiSO4 . 7H2O. Was Jennifer's finding correct? Why?
