Is There A Job That Hires At 15 Where You Could Work With Animals

What jobs can I get working with animals at 14/15 years old?

Pet stores usually only higher at 18, you can try working at a vets helping with cleaning, or at a grooming salon, helping sweeping, cleaning kennels and if your lucky and show to be mature they may teach you how to bath dogs, clip nails and you can make some nice tips.

I hired a 16 year old last summer part time at my salon to help answer phones, sweep, clean kennels etc. I eventually started to train her to do walk in services like brushing, and nail trims. She made some nice tips also.

What places hire at 15/16?

You should find out from your school counselor.
I myself started working at 15 1/2 and so did my friends. Here are some places that we all worked for:
Theater - They always hire students
Fast Food

um...that's about it.

I once worked at an elementary school, but it was summer work program through the school. Again. ask your school counselor, they may also have this program.

Good Luck

Does petsmart hire 15 or 16 yr olds?

For most states you have to be 16. I just got hired at Petsmart (I'm 19) and if I remember correctly they prefer people that have atleast a GED or High School diploma. I would do a couple things if I was you.
1 Go in and talk to a manager, this shows more initiative then just calling them up and when I was hiring people at my last job this was something that gave people a leg up.
If they won't hire you then
2 Find every LFS in your area and spend a day going to everyone you can, talking to a manager or in some cases the owner. If they won't hire you at 15 talk to them about a job when you turn 16. Be professional and try not to act nervous at all. Let them know of any past experience you may have. Explain why you would like to work for them and if they aren't hiring now ask if they have an application you can fill out or if they will keep you're name on record for when they do need to hire someone.
*Edit* Petsmart hires people 17and older. I just read it in the handbook lol.

Can I work at petco or petsmart if I am 15?

I really want a job that deals with animals, but I live in a small town and can't really get a job with animals. The nearest pet shops are petco and petsmart but I am only 15 and I don't know if I can work at these places because of my age. What I hear is that the youngest is 16 or 18 don't know if this is true or not.

Can I get a job at 15?

Sure!As long as the job is not:During school hoursBefore 7AMAfter 7PMMore than 3 hours a day on a school dayMore than 8 hours on a non-school dayMore than 18 hours a week during a school weekMore than 40 hours a week during a non-school weekIf you meet these requirements, you’re allowed to do:Office and clerical work, including operating a fax or copy machineIntellectual or artistic workCooking, as long as there is no open flame or deep fat fryer involvedCashier, sales, modeling, window dressing, advertising, comparison shoppingPrice marking, tagging, packing, shelving (i.e. restocking)Bagging and/or carrying groceriesErrand or delivery work for a company whose business is not a public messenger service; i.e. no bike messenger jobsCleaning and general grounds maintenance (aka mowing lawns)Kitchen work: popcorn poppers at movie theaters, milk shake machines, coffee grinders and coffee machines, etc..Cleaning in kitchens — dishwashing and dealing with cold grease, scraping grills, etc.Loading and unloading light non-power tools that you will be expected to use at a work site; think “shovels” and “brooms”Lifeguard at pools and water parks, but not at beaches or lakes, and only if you have a red cross certificationCar wash or gas station attendantRiding around in a passenger compartment to help deliver stuff when you get thereIn other words: there really aren’t a heck of a lot of jobs available for 15 year olds, and they all end at 7PM, and they are for few enough hours (between school and 7PM) that it’s often not worth it to hire you.Blame the fact that the laws have changed in the last couple of decades to further limit work allowed 15 year olds, due to there being a lot of out of work older people who would be doing manufacturing jobs, only all those jobs have been shipped out of the country, and they really don’t want you competing with them for what little unskilled work remains.
