Is There A Limited Amount Of Answers You Can Answer

Is there a character limit to answers on Quora?

Yes. It's in the tens of thousands of characters right now. If it's an issue and you give us a specific example, we can raise it.

On Yahoo Answers, is there a limited amount of words that you can put in the "details" box?

Yes there is a Character limit, not words....
To add details to your question click on Details. You must do that before you Submit.
The character limit is 2500 Desktop. ... 1500 on Mobile.
Once question is posted you are allowed to make 5 updates using 500 characters.

Why do we have an answer limit?

Hiya Ken,

You ask a great question -- it's often debated! There are a number of reasons for this, but all in all, those are the rules and we are forced to abide by them :-) I don't find it such a bad idea given that the web is inundated with spammers and trolls. As you know, this is a real problem and such restrictions prevent copious amount of spam and trolling.

For instance, when one is "banned" for such practices, they can't just create a new account, change their IP, etc and have unlimited posting privileges to carry out their violations. Make sense?

That said, while it frustrated all of us in the beginning, it's better in the long run for the health and operation of the forum. Have no fear, in a few days you'll have the opportunity to participate even more! Quite honestly, if one puts thorough thought into their answers and questions, 20 and even 40 is a lot of work! See what I mean? Keeps the site as quality as possible!

Though it can be challenging, try to be patient. Before no time, you'll have unlimited ability to answer your life away. Here is a link to the points/limits page:

It should help you as your progress at YA.

I hope this helps. Best wishes to you and yours!

Why is there a limit on the number of answers to questions you can submit per day on Quora? I have many more answer requests waiting.

Original question: “It’s 9:00 am and I’ve reached my limit. I’m still getting requests from people to answer their questions. It’s not fair to me or them.”Slow down. You’re apparently relatively new to Quora, so let’s step back for a moment and understand how the system works. Those answer requests you’re getting are not coming from real people specifically seeking your words of wisdom. They are, instead, being generated by the Quora system to try to get more questions answered in general. The fact is (and this is not intended as an attack, just an explanation), the 63 answers you have written so far are not particularly helpful to anyone—as evidenced by the fact that in total they have garnered only 38 upvotes, way less than a single upvote per answer. In contrast, the most useful answers here can generate hundreds, or even thousands, of upvotes per answer. Most of yours are simply one sentence, often generic, sometimes just saying “I don’t know.”That kind of response might be perfectly appropriate in a person-to-person conversation, but it isn’t useful here on Quora. Instead, understand that there is no expectation at all that you need to write in response to an answer request. Many people get dozens a day, and the etiquette here is that it is not only acceptable, but expected, that you will ignore those requests…unless you have something serious and useful to say in response. In the context of Quora, “serious and useful” typically translates into an answer that is multiple paragraphs long, shows thought and care in its composition, and has typically taken at least several minutes to write (many of the Top Writers on the site can spend an hour or more on a single answer.) The intention is for questions on Quora to elicit interesting, thoughtful information that is locked up in people’s brains; it is not to get quick, one-line, ‘cocktail party’ answers. My intention is not to sound harsh, or single you out, but rather to clarify for others who may be in your same position the way this site works. Welcome to Quora, and I’m sure we’re all looking forward to your future thoughtful contributions!

Is there any limit as to how many questions I can answer in a day in yahoo answers?

Since you're at Level 1 you can only answer 20. You need the read the "Points and Levels" Page. Click on your blue level number (1) up top on the right. That page will explain it all to you.
In 4 hours you will be able to "Choose a Best Answer." It will say that in blue next to each of these answers. You will get 3 points back and the best answerer will get 10 points. So on this website you really want to ANSWER questions in the category(s) you know the most about. If you hover your arrow over my avatar (face), you'll see that "Health" is my best category.
Welcome and good luck! :)

Why do you get a limited amount of questions you can ask on yahoo answers?

There are several reasons for the limits and the site history shows they are valid.

1. To give new users experience so they do not violate themselves off the site the first day.

2. To prevent organized chat sessions between users using new accounts.

3. To prevent spammers, scammers, and porn kings from using new accounts and taking over the board with auto posting programs.

4. To promote people coming back to Yahoo so they see the ads more than once

Did you know that Quora has a limit on how many answers you can write in a day?

Yes, I've answered questions about it at least 10 times and merged about 30 more.Unless you're brand new to Quora, the limit is 50 per 24 hour period. What is the daily limit on the number of answers I can provide on Quora?

Per the comment thread here: it appears empirically that there is a 100-answer limit covering some time period. It is not 100% clear that the time period is 24 hours, per this subsequent comment which states that it is 12 hours. The accuracy here is also unknown as it is the report of a single user.A pertinent thought here is the question of why such a limit exists, and I would hazard that it serves two purposes:It prevents spambots from getting in more than 100 answers at a time.Of course it is possible that an individual user may be able to produce 100 quality, helpful answers within a 12 or 24 hour period of time. But such an individual, in my opinion, is a rarity in the sea of individuals contributing 100 answers a day who are doing so because they have recently discovered Quora and are penning terse two-or-three line answers. These would generally be the type of answers that Quora doesn’t prize, and so reaching the limit may serve as a form of negative reinforcement to encourage the user to go and find out more about what a Quora answer should look like.New to Quora? Why does Quora limit the amount of characters that you can use to ask a question but it's not as limited for answers?

Why does Quora limit the amount of characters that you can use to ask a question but it's not as limited for answers?Quora wants canonical questions. These should not require more than 250 characters, especially if you can attach more information via link. Answers may require any amount of space, depending on the content and the writer’s method of illustrating information. In other words, some questions can be answered with fifty words or less, while others may require five hundred words for an effective answer.Much depends on the writer’s style and/or insight. I have written fairly in depth answers because I thought I had to, only to see another person answered the same question in one short paragraph. Sometimes the question-asker likes my answer better, sometimes they prefer the short answer. Quora does not state a right or wrong with regards to answer length.
