Can't figure out rock song, sounds like "don't bring me down"?
I know this is a longshot but It's driving me crazy because I hear it everyday at work and I can't Shazam it due to the nature of my work, no phones are allowed, It's not ELO , sounds pretty modern like could be foo fighters or something (but is not foo fighters). I can barely even make out the lyrics to be honest but the chorus sounds like he says dont break me down or bring me down 3 or 4 times .
Is the Beatles song "For You Blue" a weak and boring song that proves they couldn't play the blues?
You’re comparing two different pop groups with differing outlooks on their craft and very different influences. With the Beatles you have their background in American Country and Western, Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, Eddie Cochran and early MoTown. The Stones were bound and determined early on to be the next Blind Lemon Jefferson(s), or Muddy Waters, or Howlin’ Wolf, even though one of my favorite covers of “Not Fade Away” (Buddy Holly) comes from a live recording of the Stones in concert in 1963.I think the Beatles never wanted to be the next “this” or the next “that”. They were well versed in several pop styles and genres of their time and were beginning to use those older influences (including show tunes, vaudeville, skiffle, folk) to shape their own sound. The Stones never stayed completely faithful to their American Delta Blues dreams, either. Straight- up, high- energy RNR is how they are best known with a slight dalliance in psychedelia thrown in.Personally, I like “For You Blue”. It’s fun, light, and keeps “Let It Be” moving along. Plus it features John Lennon on slide which is not a bad thing! A really good cover version is on the “Concert For George” soundtrack sung by Paul McCartney (on ukulele).By the way, were the Beatles supposed to be masters of the Blues?

What music styles or performers influenced the Beatles?
The Beatles loved the early Rock n Roll of their youth. Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, and the Everly’s. Paul in particular was also influenced by his family’s music, Music Hall and marching band style tunes.Ringo loved the Swing and Big Band drummers such as Gene Krupa and Cozy Cole. If you listen closely to Ringo’s fills, you can hear some of the Krupa influence in there.George also liked the early Rock n Roll guitar music, and also Country picker Chet Atkins (my fave too!), and Jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt. He had a great love in his later years for Indian Music and worked with Sitarist Ravi Shankar for a time.Like many young musicians of their era, The Beatles were sponges for anything and everything they could put their hands on. And those influences in turn, spread the gospel of Rock throughout the generations.
