Is There A Talent Agency In The Us Like Sm Or Yg Caucasian.

Do you have to be Korean, or of asian descent, to audition and become a trainee for SM, JYP, and YG?

I am part African American, Puerto Rican, German, and Caucasian.I am 14 now, 15 in Korean years. I was thinking of auditioning for SM (or any other Korean entertainment company) next year. I think I have a great voice and very strong vocals. I have good dancing skills because of dancing lessons. I have been obsessed with EVERYTHING KOREA for 4 years. I love Kpop music so much that it is the practically the only music I listen to,,(not really, but mostly) I know I have the determination, patience and I would do anything, even surgery(SM). And if anyone has done an audition for one of these companies, could you give me some advice and how the audition takes place. Like are you in a room with a bunch of other ppl while showing the judges your talent? Or do you perform in front of the judges alone? Do they tell you if you make it or not over the phone? And anything else you know about the audition process. Thanx!!!

Is it weird for an African American to audition for YG Entertainment in Korea?

I say go for it! If you got potential and want to do it then do it! My friend and I are planning to audition for YG Ent. as well (even though we don't have Asian in us- I'm Hispanic and she's mix but no Asian in her)
I mean when it comes to learning how to dance they have people of different races teaching them!
Don't give up just like how Bom didn't give up now look at where she is now!
Good Luck!
If you make it let me know I'll support you when you debut! ^.^
Fighting~!

Are there any entertainment companies like JYP, YG, or SM in America or Europe?

The closest I can think of is Syco Entertainement.Simon Cowell (the co-founder and CEO of the company) is like a british version of Yang Hyun-Suk (founder and CEO of YG Entertainment), Lee Sooman (founder of SM Entertainment) or Park Jing Young (founder of JYP Entertainment).A similarity Syco has with those korean companies is the kind of artists they produce. Syco produces a lot of teen idols just like Koreans do. The most popular ones are :One direction : Arguably the most popular boyband in the world (on a hiatus right now).Fifth harmony : A really popular american girl band, their song “Worth it” was a hit, it has more than a billion views on Youtube.Little mix : They’re kind of like the british “rivals” of 5th Harmony, they’re a bit less popular but they’re definitely very talented.Bea Miller : An 18 year old american singer, she has a quite a big following. Very talented.Bars and Melody : A duo of teenagers. One is a singer, one is a rapper. Their audition on Britain Got Talent was a hit on Youtube, 135 Million views.Union J : A decently popular british boyband.Another similarity is the name of their company. They’re all made of initials like : SYmon COwell Entertainment, Jin-Young Park Entertainment , SooMan Entertainment, YanG hyun-suk Entertainment.

Are there any entertainment companies in India like JYP, YG, and SM in Korea?

No, But if you really are interested in Kpop and are a good singer. Then you can online audition for SM, JYP or YG ! Or if possible for you, try in person audition. It is not like our (Indians)'s visuals arent that good or you have no looks. If you have talent go for it. Looks can be fixed by Plastic surgery (If u thinking to go for YG, JYP or SM).Good luck

Would sm entertainment accept a blonde american girl?

I'm willing to do anything and everything to become an idol! I've loved singing and dancing since I was young (17 now). I love kpop sooooo much and I wish I could be a part of it. But I feel so sad because I'm American and I have blonde hair and blue eyes, so I'm nothing close to looking Asian. But do you think they could possibly still accept me? And I could still sing Korean songs?

What are my chances for getting accepted into YG/SM/JYP Entertainment?

Race-wise, JYP or YG are both your best choices. Both have trainees/artists that are not pure Korean, or Asian, for that matter. SM has an unsaid requirement that you have to be some sort of Asian.

As for YG Globals, I'd just go for it. YG doesn't have any online/walk in auditions, like SM or JYP, and they're usually the ones who have the trainees with style, flare, swag, and talent. SM has good looking artists who are VERY talented (they need to beat out so many other trainees for a chance at a debut...) and JYP... quite frankly, no one knows what he's really looking for. It baffles all of us. He let go of both Goo Hara and IU from their auditions, both who are now insanely famous without him.

Weight-wise, yes, loosing weight will be a priority. However, if you have talent, they will overlook that for the time be. Tiffany from SNSD lost a lot of weight, and every agency will have trainers to help with that. Knowing some Korean will give you an edge against some other foreign trainees who don't.

Yes, the younger you are, the better. The youngest girl trainee in SM right now is 13, and that YG trainee in that YouTube video (Who's that girl on YG's channel) is only 16 (she is a BOSS, by the way). However, Victoria from f(x) debuted in her early twenties. It is completely possible to debut late, Kahi from After School is, what, 31?

Yes, there is a rhythm test. If you can't dance, make some way of showing you have a good beat. This is almost always the deciding factor. DON'T SKIP OUT ON IT. Quite frankly, focus on dancing rather then singing. It is proven that SM will take a good dancer over an equally good singer. YG, you need to be extremely good at whatever your doing. JYP, you need to be a strong dancer. Dancing is key.

Good Luck! Honestly, I could never audition for YG, I don't have the swag :P

Is it possible for a non Korean to join YG Entertainment as a trainee?

Become an artist in the American industry! Koreans are extremely racist and biased towards only their race and maybe a select few others that are in the “yellow-skin” asians such as Chinese and Japanese, and a few Thai people. YG entertainment is one of the strictest entertainments towards race, up until Blackpink there hasn’t been any non-Koreans who debuted under YG. And even so, Blackpink’s non-Korean member is Thai, and she has a similar skin tone to Koreans. So the chances of you making a trainee is 0 in YG entertainment, and that goes for probably most other big companies in Korea. Like I said in the beginning, become an artist in the American industry! You’ll have a much higher chance :)

What are the requirements if you audition the YG Entertainment?

Auditioning is very nerve wrecking especially when it comes to the THE 3 BIG COMPANIES. Based on what I’ve seen, they’re few requirements that i concluded on my own.TALENTS - YG are very strict when it comes to this! If you wanna audition at YGE, you need to make sure that you’re more than good. You can just simply audition because you think you are good enough, you can’t be just good enough at YG Audition. Unlike SM, YG are more focused on talents instead of face, YG are a company that train people to become the best while SM makesure that you’re good looking, and then they make u the bestSPECIALITY - It is important for you yourself to know what makes you different from the other. You need to show them why they need to sign you and not someone else. YG also tend to signed those that are very eye capturing. You have to be confident infront of themMULTI-SPEAKER - If you wanna audition at YG, Korea Entertainment Agency, if you’re foreigners, you need to be able to speak in KOREAN. This is necessary as this may proved to the judges that you have the spirit to actually debut as a k-idol. Also, you need to be able to speak in many languages. Bilingual atleast, The neccessary languages are Japanese, Chinese, English. You need to be able to speak atleast one of those stated bcs being able to speak in many languages will make them think it’s better because they won’t have to train your language ability anymore.Physical state - If you’re really talented enough then i dont think this would be any of a matter to audition at YG, but to secure your position, you need to have a good physical state. YG like those who looks healthy instead of those who look unfit because this can affect ur dance and ur breathing. Make sure ure fit enough and make sure ur dance skills are on top! This is so far the requirements i think might be needed to enter YG. I am not a professional at this but yeah, good luck!

What is JYP entertainment like, would I make it?

JYP Entertainment is the richest (biggest) and arguably the most prestigious out of the "Big Three" entertainment agencies in Korea. (YG, SM, JYP)
Their training is known to be pretty tough and demanding.

Your ethnicity as a Vietnamese-American does not really help. I realize that there are some foreign, other-Asian K-Pop stars but they are extremely rare and they usually have a special talent.
Remember that literally 99% of actual K-Pop stars and actresses are Koreans and when they hold auditions, they will be mostly scouting for Koreans. If you manage to get in, you will not debut until you are fluent in Korean.

Talent obviously plays a large role in the business, but physical attractiveness has a much bigger role. Would you like to go to a concert with plain girl singing with or one with a gorgeous girl? I can't remember the source, but I remember reading from an inside SM executive who said that it's usually 80% looks and 20% talent. Remember they spend YEARS training vocals and acting so it's not a huge problem. (Unless your voice is terrible and has a really short range.)

If you look "plain", as you have described, you will most likely not be even considered during the audition and even if you do manage to get in, you WILL get plastic surgery. There is no doubt. The weight range for most female K-Pop/Drama stars are 40kg~50kg (88lbs~110lbs) This is important. You WILL need to lose weight if you want to have a chance.

So far, with what I've said, it's pretty much possible for anyone to get in, which is why the competition is fierce. If they could choose, they would and will choose the prettier, skinnier girl.

As for personality, all you need really is just an outgoing, bubbly personality. They do train on manners and etiquette so it's not a big deal.

Good luck, but I wouldn't devote 100% of my future to the entertainment business in Korea if I were you. Not saying it's impossible, but highly improbable. Remember that even the prettiest Korean girls who sing and dance are routinely shot down.

Do you think SM Entertainment would ever accept a half Chinese, half-white trainee?

Sure. It's not super likely you'd ever debut though, since the pecking order doesn't hold great chances.SM priority list:KoreanJapanese or ChineseThai or Vietnamese or Half-KoreanFilipina/o or Half-J/CNote that if you are half, you have to be half white to really succeed. Samuel is half Mexican, but he's that one exception that people actually care about. So, the chances aren't as good as you'd want, but if you look more Asian than White, you've upped your chances. It would add brownie points if you spoke Chinese (Mandarin) for the sake of international promoting if you ever debut. English, too. Already knowing the Korean language would probably move you up the priority list.So if you spoke Chinese, English, and Korean, you'd have a decent shot during the auditions.Of course, given you look pretty and are not fat. And that you prove you are good at singing/dancing/rapping/looking pretty. There's an SM Rookie named Yang Yang who I think is German-Chinese. With him showing off the tier 4 skills, the chances for those people to debut will grow.Good luck if you ever do debut. Try and follow Yang Yang's path.Edit: is Yang Yang full Chinese? I was told he wasn't.
